    Hello, what is your opinion? Dell Inspirion 5584 i5-8265U/8GB ram/256SSD/MX130 2GB /15.6” or Lenovo S145-15IWL l5-8265U /8GB/256SSD/ MX110 2 GB/15.6” FHD/TPM/DOS.
I’ll use the laptop for everything because i don’t have very good desktop setup. Primarily I’ll use it for design, corel draw, ilustrator, photoshop and connect cutter for vinyl wrap foil and in the future mabye lasser burner. Thank you in advance.

Hey i was looking at laptops and my budget is 1000 at most, including external hdd. I’d mainly use it for photo editing, a little bit of video editing every now and then, and basic stuff like word, browsing, watching videos and replying to emails- those kinds of things. I don’t wanna spend too much on a laptop since i do all of my work and gaming on a PC so i’d rather upgrade that if i need stronger power. I just want a laptop for when i’m away from home (i usually never work outside of home but there were several times when i thought having a laptop would come in handy). So i looked at the lenovo flex 5, it has 8th gen i7 U series processor, 16gb RAM and an SSD for less than 800. I could buy a bamboo ink and an external HDD with the extra money. My sister could use it for designing as well, (she already has a laptop but she uses a mouse or track pad for designing, so sad; _;) and i could edit photos as i would on an IPad and an apple pen. But i haven’t seen a video where someone uses it as a drawing tablet so i’m not sure how good or bad it is. Just looking at the specs it seems too good to be true, but from the reviews i’ve read on google, it doesn’t seem to be a good drawing tablet for artists and illustrators. I can compromise with its 3-5 hours battery life since i rarely use a laptop anyway. Just not sure if it’s worth the money for other aspects. Any thoughts?

hey, what’s your opinion on the 2019 editions of the HP Envy? they come with an i7 intel core processor, 16GB RAM, up to 1TB SSD…but the GPU is NVIDIA Geforce MX250?? do you think this is good enough to run graphic design programs smoothly?? I’m a entering foundation year soon without the biggest budget and don’t know exactly what creative industry I’m going to enter so I don’t want to be limited by the GPU if I end up in video editing. What would you advise??

  23. BK Moto on November 27, 2019 at 11:35 pm

    Hey Ben,
Graphic designer here sticking it Apple whenever I can lol- even though I do use a Mac Pro for work (the worst version- the trash can). Great video- makes me think of the XPS even more, esp cos I love the touchscreen aspect of my laptop for the last 5 years and always wonder why doesnt everyone have that- considering all phones have beautiful touchscreens! Anyway, I have also been looking at the Helios 300 (the version in your links) but I have heard the picture quality (color accuracy) isnt the best (even with 144hz FPS), that it heats up very fast, is loud with the fans on, is bulky and has a short battery life. So that or the touchscreen XPS 15 9560? The Helios has a lot of firepower which is very attractive to me as I also do a lot of videos off late. Is there anything else below $1200 that you recommend?
    Thanks!

Hello Ben Thanks for this Helpful Video… I have a question, so i recently bought a Mac Pro 15 inch A1990 model and yep it cost almost 3k. with apple care. So i was using Adobe After Effects program for three minutes or so and I hear a loud noise coming from my Mac Pro, the fan turned on, then as I was doing some stuff in After effects the program shuts off.. i touch the bottom of laptop and it feels hot like overheating… wtf… is it true that this Macpros Overheat …if this is the case I would probably return it and try the Dell Xps15 … Does anyone else gets there Mac Overheating with Adobe programs???

  26. David Owen on November 27, 2019 at 11:36 pm

I just want to thank you for being so thorough with your explanations on specs, you’re a huge help in making my final decision. I’ll be getting the Dell XPS 15 9570 soon.

  27. Khaliyah on November 27, 2019 at 11:39 pm

I’m getting the MacBook Pro 13” with i7 quad core processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. I decided to get this one because of MacOS (I don’t like Windows), power + portability and much better battery life than its 15” brother. This will help me as a law student and as passionate creator of book covers (Photoshop) and other creative work. Sweet video!

Hi Ben! Absolutely love your videos, I’m going to be starting my degree in Computing & IT and Design and I’ve found your videos so helpful!
What do you make of the Windows Surface Laptop 2 for graphic design? Also, do I need to get a laptop with a larger screen, or would a 13/13.5" be suitable?
    Thanks in advance 😊

what is the best best editing laptop

  33. דביר לייקין on November 27, 2019 at 11:43 pm

some technical corrections – sorry to be that person. RAM stands for Random Access Memory. So you don’t need yo say RAM memory. Second, SSD is Solid State Drive, HDD or Hard Disk Drive is a mechanical component with a metal disk that spins, so you can’t say Solid State Hard Drive, there are two different things.

What do you think about the ThinkPads? ,, I was thinking about going for one..

  49. Liberty Vargas on November 28, 2019 at 12:03 am

Would be the MacBook Air Retina okay for someone who’s budget is 1.2k(ish). Only problem I have with Mac is no touch screen, and I’d need a drawing tablet along with a pen. I’ve been using the ASUS X200 notebook which has been proven utterly useless with adobe products or any other large program for designing.
