Texas was hit with a rare winter storm, bringing snow, ice, and very cold freezing temperatures to areas across the state, even to the south Texas coastal town of Rockport. I went out to take footage of this 2021 winter storm, and got some beautiful shots of the ice and snow. Along with much of the state, Rockport endured power outage, water shortage, and limited services due to this unique weather event.
Rockport has had some challenges in 2020 and 2021, from Hurricane Hanna, to COVID-19, to freak winter weather. At the end of the day, the city and its people are still #rockportstrong

Hard to believe this storm reached our Texas coast. Unbelievable. The electricity outage throughout the state during single digit weather was brutal. Appreciate you braving the cold to share how it affected Rockport.

Jason, did you happen to go over into Lamar, or near the state park? The oaks back there, and the big tree can be beautiful, even with the slightest snowfall. Thanks for the great video.
Stay safe my friend, were in Amarillo. I’ve lived in Texas for almost thirty years and have never been to it’s coast.
I hope that this winter doesn’t discourage the Winter Texans from coming back next winter…if we have one at all. This old Earth is in the beginning of birth pangs.
