Don’t trash toxic substances. Dispose of home chemicals safely at a Miami-Dade County Home Chemical Collection Center. Open Wednesday – Sunday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., the two centers are located in West Dade – 8801 NW 58th St. and South Dade – 23707 SW 97th Ave. Oil-based paints, pool chemicals, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and other electronic waste don’t belong in the trash.
