How e-Waste Is Recycled | GreenShortz
Here’s how e-waste gets recycled. Whole computers, televisions and printers in one end and shredded and sorted bits of metal, plastic and circuit board out the other and it is pretty cool to watch. Because of the toxic materials in e-waste it is important to make sure it gets recycled properly. PlasMet e-Solutions is an Atlanta, Georgia e-waste recycler. They help local communities add e-waste to their recycling programs. For more information visit www.plasmet.com

One of the best ways to reduce the amount of electronic wastage is by not replacing our electronics too frequently.
Why throw something away if it’s not broken?
Whenever people replace their televisions or whatever, the old one can be sold or given away for free as long as it still works.
In the event it is faulty or damaged, it’s possible it could be repaired or sold for spare parts.
Older pioneer kenwood stereo components from 1970s 80s are saut after are they shredded or sold as is
I wonder how much a normal worker earns there in the states, anyone know?
not the receivers!

Hello random people, who have an assignment to do on this video
Too bad this place is closed now. 🙁
How is recycling for them a business, but apparently super cost inefficient for most places where electronics just get shipped away?
All phones should have easy ways to change parts or upgrade, most important the battery. I’m 10 years with my computer working fine because i could replace broken parts and upgrade the OS. Hope I could stay with my smartphone the same time.
THIS IS SOOOO INEFFICIENT! They take up so much space where half of it is literally empty. Shredding is so sad… They should have tried to make agreements with other similar companies in order to make the whole industrial estate built just for recycling companies working together where they could be separating parts, sorting them out, and sharing between each other. Or something like that… Just an idea of mine….
These guys want to make massive profits and damage so many things in there while many people are unemployed, not having what to do…. Maybe it would help to develop some kind of governmental / national employment scheme to provide temporary rotating helpers / workers who would disassemble equipments and things of all kinds….
Also, plastics have to be separated by colour, metals have to be separated by type, PCB plastics have to be sent somewhere totally else for a specific company dealing with just that because they are so so toxic! Thank you for reading, spread the word and generate your own ideas which would help to make recycling better or much better. It is up to you. Start caring what is going on within recycling industries….
I. WANT. ALL. THE. COMPUTERS.
If you took out the parts that are still working you could easily sell them cheap and still make profit make a web sit with cheap components rather than shredding them you could get the material from a dvi cable and only make $0.04 or you could sell it for a dollar plus shipping and make a full profit of $1.00 and do that with all your electronics and you could make a lot more money
It appears this place is permanently closed.
i wanna work at a place like this
oof
This facility has permanently closed.
funny how they only mentioned copper and not gold silver palladium and platinum… you know the REAL reason they want your E-waste in the first place. $$$
We need less durable stuff , so we can change stuff after warranty… 😎
Please don’t recyle smartphones, you can resell them and make money or give them to kids or people who need them, instead of getting them shredded
I would have taken those speakers at the beginning..
why did i watch this? lol
merry go round
like si entendiste la referencia
7c woo
So why do you think he left out gold and silver? So you dont do it yourself and make your own money and so you will act like they are doing you a favor but in reality you are doing them the favor.
Dont most e waste companies just resell it on eBay?
Very nice
amazing
Does this earn good money starting a new bussiness like this? Im new to knew to this and i want to know where i can gain more knowldge about this..
If I owned the company for 1 day I’m getting all the PC’s
Backside music is creating trouble.
Do you know any e-waste recycling facility in Toronto?
Custom built pc I think are the way to go. A full atx case with a full power supply shouldn’t need to be upgraded for a long time. Swapping out an ATX motherboard, processor and RAM should be the things that are done. Build motherboards with standard processor sockets, RAM sockets, and other sockets that could last a lot longer. Just upgrade the processor, Ram and the Video Cards. Minimize the number of times the whole computer has to be replaced.
Why isn’t this a solution for third world countries where e-waste is dumped. This is ridiculous. There is a solution that no one is using.
That was really helpful
