Good tips mate. I’m at the stage of buying my first finder for average use and I think it would definitely be important not to get caught up in the technology too much! I’m between a Garmin and Humminbird in more of a basic unit at this stage

Dude is a suck up to all the manufacturers. He is trying to get all of them to sponsor him. LOL.

They should start an entirely new tournament series WITHOUT electronics

On the Garmin technology- "Panoptix shows you everything… Everybody will be able to utilize this technology with different brands in the future." Seems like the other manufacturers are back in the stone age.

This was not a true assessment of which product is better. You can tell he was trying to give credit to all.

Humminbird and Lowrance have a lot of catching up to do.

Humminbird has best side and down imaging. Garmin is leading live-image sonar. Lowrance 2d in my experience has best high speed depth reading. I chose Garmin for versatility. Panoptix is an awesome tool for ice fishing and it is nice to be able to move head unit between ice fishing and boat bail mounts.

its all about what you can afford. garmin striker 7sv gives you side image, down image and 2d for 500$. lorance and hummingbird charge twice that for the same technology. thats why i choose garmin. you’re not losing quality LOOK AT THE DASH OF COMMERCIAL AIRLINERS. GARMIN for a reason.

This guy is staying neutral just in case one of these companies might want to sponsor him. Your everyday fisherman is the only person you can count on for a true assessment regarding the electronics they’ve used. With that said, Lowrance is terrible for many reasons and is why I’m even watching this videos right now.

WATCH OUT ! some of the lower end units DON’T come with CHIRP so read your specs or you could be sorry. Some of you probably got burnt already and said wow my fishfinder looks crappy compared to Youtube videos well Lowrance took out the CHIRP and now it looks like crap still work ? Ya sure just you lost a lot of detail….
