Most Reliable Appliance Brands for 2021

Most Reliable Appliance Brands for 2021

Service is a problem in this industry and by far the biggest department at Yale.

Other stores may tell you not to worry about it, but we logged over 37,000 service calls last year alone, and that’s just in the Boston area.

In this video you will finally learn about the most reliable brands (Sub-Zero, KitchenAid, Bosch, Wolf, Samsung, Miele, Beko/Blomberg, LG, Whirlpool, and GE) and appliances based on those 37,061 service calls logged.

You will see each brand’s service rate by percentage, best attributes and their most common problems.

In some cases, you should also not buy or consider the most reliable brands on this list depending on where you live.

The most reliable brands typically sell more reliable categories, like laundry and more basic, builder-grade appliances. However, there are some exceptions for better and even premium brands.

Some of the best brands on this list have little support available when there is an issue. So, you want to buy a reliable brand, but also find the best support.

My Samsung french door refrigerator is the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. The ice maker stopped working first and then the refrigerator section. I found out that it ices up and have pulled the back apart twice already and used a hair dryer to melt the ice buildup on the coils.

I can tell you, as someone that worked on GE laundry equipment, they are light duty and ARE NOT reliable. LMAO We used to buy them because they were small enough to fit into the little laundry closets in apartments. Most companies’ machines are too big for that.

    awesome thank you

  4. TennisOnion on October 5, 2021 at 3:14 am

Does anyone make a decent dehumidifier anymore? It seems like after 2 years they all get super noisy.

  5. Member Berries on October 5, 2021 at 3:16 am

Glad to see Bosch fixed there fridges . Had one made in 2015. Worst appliance I have ever owned. Had to have the motherboard replaced 3 times in 5 years.

  6. phdonme1 on October 5, 2021 at 3:17 am

I’ve worked in the Commercial side for appliances for a long time. Dealer, Rep, and Factory Divisions. 95% of service calls are related to the client’s, inability to properly install, maintain, and operate the equipment. Maybe 2% hidden damage from freight, and 3% the factory malfunction.
I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to deal with residential. Especially higher end quasi-commercial side.

oh forgot to say broke down after 20 loads !!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. mudpuppy541 on October 5, 2021 at 3:20 am

Speed Queen washing machines gives you : hot water( not lukewarm ) a full load of water, and agitates robustly ! Not like the awful GE I sent back !

  9. web Surfin on October 5, 2021 at 3:20 am

The SPEED QUEEN washer "CLASSIC" model: TC5…. is the ONLY washer on the marker currently that will get dirty laundry clean & will last for 25 years!! GE washers can NOT come close to that in any way!!

  10. Ed Mikula on October 5, 2021 at 3:21 am

Funny about Whirlpool. I bought an open box Amana bottom of the line washer for $200. I figured to get3 maybe 5 years from it. After 2 years the door lockout sensor failed (managed to find instructions to use the bultin diagnostics) and foundd the new part for about$20 replaced it and the washer has been hapilly chugging along for 7 years now. I was rather shockedto learn that the $900 Whirlpool used the same part and the quotes were $300+ to repair the washer. There were way more than a few complaints about this problem. Seem a convient way to turn a 900 washer into a 1200 one, and also a backhanded way or gettiing folks to upgrade from their $200 machines.

My kitchen was redone 8 years ago with LG fridge, Dishwasher, Oven and Microwave. All have had at least one repair after 2 years. Most recent was my fridge compressor died. It was covered with 10 year warranty, cost me just labor charge of 250. It certainly better than buying a new one.

  12. Tom Caron on October 5, 2021 at 3:23 am

We switched to a GE Profile when our Samsung fridge quit.
It’s been nothing but trouble after two years.

  13. shelley minehart on October 5, 2021 at 3:27 am

Bought G.E. Electric stove, the temperature is all over the place, no stable temperature. Called G.E. Reported problem they responded by email. Nothing worked this happened from the day it was delivered. Due to covid I did not want anyone in my house. Took out a 3yr extended warranty through Home Depot. They will not service it due to the fact this problem exacted immediately after first use, so they told me to go back to G.E. G.E. Will
Not stand behind their 1 year policy. I am stuck, what do I do?

  14. diamondrmp on October 5, 2021 at 3:27 am

It just goes to show how bad ALL brands are now. I know that the stove, washer, dryer and refrigerator in my parents home never failed! We had a foster home with never less than 8 kids and that put a lot of work on the appliances. Oh yeah fast food was a treat maybe once a month. All home cooked food in my home as a kid!

  15. arogyalohani on October 5, 2021 at 3:29 am

    I wish Toyota made appliances

  16. fruittopia gulfcoast on October 5, 2021 at 3:31 am

GE is garbage I was there biggest fan boy but the last couple years almost everything I ordered was broken And their service after Covid would take months to get something fixed. I switch to whirlpool Maytag Amana same company much better quality

  17. Donna Krrr on October 5, 2021 at 3:32 am

Kitchen Aid did not last 2 years.

  18. John Brown on October 5, 2021 at 3:32 am

My first Maytag top load washer lasted 30 years requiring no repairs. My next Maytag top load has lasted 8 months and now needs a agitator actuator which there is no eta for the part. Whirlpool service was only lip service. Not impressed at all with Whirlpool. I can’t believe you rate it # 2.

  19. vrod1a on October 5, 2021 at 3:33 am

Our BOSCH refrigerator is nothing but problems, extended warranty wasn’t even worth the paper it was printed on ,

  20. Jose Flores on October 5, 2021 at 3:34 am

Had a terrible experience with a new Bosch French door refrigerator in a newly built home… good luck finding a technician who can address the issues in a timely manner
Now building another home, going with sub z and wolf hoping for better reliability and service with these brands… though holy Moses are they expensive!!

  21. 15 DurangoRT on October 5, 2021 at 3:36 am

"If you buy a whole kitchen you will probably need service on at least one appliance in the first year". 1 year? That is just insane!

  22. Patrice Lemay on October 5, 2021 at 3:36 am

Surprised about GE standing , l might be wrong but 6-7 years ago l’ve heard or read somewhere that the appliance division has been sold to Haier and since then reliability has gone down , and as for whirlpool and their associates trying to get parts is quite difficult due to C-19 and in many consumer magazines LG often place in no 1 for reliability and consumer satisfaction…l suppose that there’s no black and white in any domaine you just try to make the best choices for you and the needs you have and the amount of money that you’re willing to spend to satisfy those needs , in the end they’re just tools to make life easier and everybody wants the most bang for their bucks .

  23. TheGomezIndustries on October 5, 2021 at 3:37 am

If there’s a brand that you should avoid like a virus, it’s Maytag.

  24. Terry Kozak on October 5, 2021 at 3:38 am

My Kenmore washer is 29 years old and still going strong

  25. Wallis parnell on October 5, 2021 at 3:38 am

Wolf, yes, it’s a simple gas stove with a huge price. Of course it’s reliable

  26. T M on October 5, 2021 at 3:39 am

Do not buy anything from AJ Madison. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

  27. Frank Enderle on October 5, 2021 at 3:40 am

Bosch in California is the worst!! 4 weeks to get service, and I get a no-show… I had to call them they never called me… I rescheduled and they had a first available 3 weeks later??? still waiting!!!

  28. Daniel Stehura on October 5, 2021 at 3:40 am

I know Five people that have an LG refrigerator that needed repairs in the first year of ownership. Never again will I buy an LG refrigerator with bad compressors. The washer and dryer’s are very reliable no problems stay away from LG refrigerators like the plague

  29. Mary Aliece Hope on October 5, 2021 at 3:44 am

I had an older gentleman repair tech tell me "it’s like a lot of things. They just don’t make them like they use to!"….

  30. Riley Esposito on October 5, 2021 at 3:45 am

I had a Simpson top load washing machine for more than 20years, never have any problems with it. If it is unbalanced, (very rare),it stops and all you need to do is just adjust the clothing. It washes clothing very clean till last minute of its life and I never have to worry about colour mixed issue. It only stopped last year, and the repair man said I should have called him when I heard the unusual noise. It would still go well for a few more years. The new generation top load washing machines spin in high speed, sometimes damage my clothing. I rather less dry than damaging or wearing out my clothing. I am going to get a front loader washing machine this time and hope it will be good

  31. Jon Floyd on October 5, 2021 at 3:46 am

I like how you tell us which brand to buy I grew up with lg it was known as life is good it was cheap brand that used to break after one year they did vhs players etc.theres a good you tube hack to use a wire to keep a refrigerator drain hole clear from freezing.a friend bought a Samsung water saving washer that does not clean as it does not have an agetator.in Europe a front loader will last 20 years and cost $300 here they last 5 years and cost $800 I have washer and dryer from 1970 and fix it every 5 years diy and am afraid to get rid of it as a new appliances will not last, where I work
I repair ge and fridgedare stoves and ovens and refrigerators that arrive broken or need repair after 6 months, due to 25 % import taxes a $300 dishwasher now costs $500-700 when you take apart most applences it costs only about $100 to make but to repair the parts might cost $500

  32. Dexiao Hao on October 5, 2021 at 3:47 am

SAMSUNG? Are you kidding me? I got 2 samsung french door fridges. Both having frost and condensation problem. And I have heard others all having this problem. To me it is 100 percent bad, exact.

  33. Kelly Jo Pfeiffer on October 5, 2021 at 3:51 am

Cafe is a GE brand, would you say it too falls into the reliability ranking for GE?

  34. xtremearmor on October 5, 2021 at 3:51 am

I would like to see where they get their data ?

  35. RealSekator on October 5, 2021 at 3:55 am

you must be joking Ge number one, all repairmen that i have known told me to stay away from that garbage , my mom got GE washer and dryer after 3 years they started breaking regularly , Ge is garbage so are your fixed numbers

  36. garbo on October 5, 2021 at 3:55 am

Everything ge makes sucks except for their vacuum cleaners. As a sparky with over 50 years in the trade ge was the worst company. My wife talked me into purchasing my first & only ge crap appliance. A 30" wide stove with extra large oven. Aholes have the gas glow coil always consuming a lot of power after flame is on unlike all other brands so triple priced glow coil burns out every 2 years. Glass on oven door blow out while oven was only heating up. Ge service & parts department suck big time. Make the worst medium voltage switchgear. Spend a halve millon dollars on ge crap switchgear and guranteed to spend ten of thousands of dollars on repairs. Company started by scum bag edison and continues to be scum bag to this day.

  37. Carlos Wicks on October 5, 2021 at 3:56 am

I am a service tech LG makes the worse refrigerator in the market. Every single linear compressor that they made from 2014 on is failing after one or two years of service. The Rangers and laundry or fine but they cannot be this high on the list when they put a 10-year warranty on a compressor that doesn’t last 10 months. Right now my industry is being over ran by horrible LG refrigerators most technicians won’t even touch them

  38. Ish Reyes on October 5, 2021 at 3:56 am

Thank you for your video. BTW: I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator that has walked well for 14 years EXCEPT for the ice maker which I have personally replaced at least twice. The replacements are available on eBay for about $30.

  39. Janet Arnold on October 5, 2021 at 3:56 am

I’m confused about your rating system. Your lowest reliability rating was number one on your list. I would consider the highest rated appliance to be #1. What am I missing here?

  40. Matthew Buck on October 5, 2021 at 3:59 am

I am an appliance tech. This is all bad information. Ask how reliable an LG or KitchenAid is after 4 years.

  41. Wallis parnell on October 5, 2021 at 4:00 am

The more crap marketing junk you put on them the more they break, for washer, dryers, fridges, simple is best.

  42. Riley Esposito on October 5, 2021 at 4:02 am

Sorry, reliability rate higher is better or less reliable? How is reliability rate calculated ?

  43. Jim Jackson on October 5, 2021 at 4:02 am

With lg they don’t sell parts you need to get one of their technicians in to. replace something and they soak you.Keep away from LG.

  44. dave king on October 5, 2021 at 4:03 am

The things that I personally experienced match exactly to what he says. (Samsung and LG)

  45. Home on the Range on October 5, 2021 at 4:06 am

My GE washer and dryer is 10 years on running 3 loads a day.

  46. 被遗忘的收藏 on October 5, 2021 at 4:06 am

Samsung doesn’t know how to make fridge, more than lack of field repairs.

  47. Papi Chulo on October 5, 2021 at 4:10 am

LG is the worst for Dishwashers. If you need a Dishwasher buy either Bosch or Miele. KitchenAid is OK too.

  48. xandervk on October 5, 2021 at 4:10 am

Interesting. I ordered a GE top-load washer two days prior to watching this video and you rate GE laundry appliances at number one. What about Maytag? Since it is now a brand of Whirlpool, should it be assumed that Whirlpool ratings will apply?

  49. H M on October 5, 2021 at 4:11 am

My subzero is 17 years old, it’s a beast, have renewed the compressor and coils, it’s like having a new unit, these units cost over 14k

  50. Lynn Steiner on October 5, 2021 at 4:11 am

How about rating just the top everyday average joe appliances. Most people can’t afford Wolf, Bosch, Sub Zero and such. I personally own all LG and have been very pleased.
