My Kitchen Appliances // Which ones are WORTH it?!

My Kitchen Appliances // Which ones are WORTH it?!

I get a LOT of questions about my kitchen appliances – here’s (almost) all of them! I go over the pros, cons, and frequency of how often I use my blender, food processor, air fryer, instant pot, and juicer, as well as if I think each appliance is “worth it”

Instant Pot also makes rice, oatmeal, potatoes, steamed veggies, corn on the cob, soups, stews, and even vegan yogurt.

    She is not a minimalist.

I had that same ancient food processor! My mom gave it to me because she wasn’t using it and I loved it. I used it for years but sadly it eventually broke and I don’t like the new ones nearly as much.

I’d love a video on vegan slowcooker meals. 99% of the slowcooker tutorials I’ve seen are for recipes with meat.

You don’t know how many times I wanted to watch a review like this 😥… I didn’t ask for it, I didn’t search for it but I wanted it so much. All I have to say it’s thanks 👏👏😄😄 (sorry my english)

Can you please post some Ninja Foodi recipes? I’m having a hard time finding recipes that utilize all the features. I bought vegan instant pot recipe books as well as air fryer ones, but I want recipies that have the grains cooking, while veggies are steaming or something like that so I utilize all of the foodi’s features. Thanks ❤ Ps: I love your channel 😊

There is one thing about the Vitamix that noone ever mentions: my bf got one and I feel it’s mostly great for liquidy kind of things like smoothies and soups but when you have something with a firmer consistence you have to scrape out the container half an eternity because the food is "stuck" to the part around the blade.

Hey Caitlin, which appliances would you recommend most for college students living in a dorm (especially a shared one)?

I have been debating getting the foodi for months now. I don’t have a air fryer or instant pot and obviously want both but that size man…..it’s a honker! I do like the reasons you like it though. Thanks Caitlin!

Does the cheaper Vitamix work well too? Like smooth kale smoothies and nut butters?

If you hate cooking and have $80, I 100% recommend a slow cooker! It’s great for making freezer meals too 🙂

  19. Cassi Lamb on October 31, 2019 at 6:18 pm

I have the Ninja blender and I love it! It’s really powerful and is like half the price of the Vitamix.

    We’ve got that blender!

  25. Liz Williams on October 31, 2019 at 6:20 pm

I love my Kitchen Aid mixer for cakes & breads ♡ I hadn’t thought about an instant pot, but my previous slow cooker had a saute function & my current one does not & I am really missing it! It is so useful for starting soups, sauces, stews & curries so you don’t have a second pan to clean… & I have done beans & rice in the slow cooker before but it sounds like the instant pot would be perfect for them too 👌

  26. Maria Scarborough on October 31, 2019 at 6:20 pm

This video is the content I need! I love it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I have a ninja blender and food processor combo that is amazing. I use it pretty much every day. Been thinking about adding the instant pot/ air fryer ninja as well. We will see! Thanks for making great videos

i love my vitamix to death!! i bought it refurbished and saved so much money

  28. yogiyoda on October 31, 2019 at 6:22 pm

Nice vid. But I can’t tell if the appliances are big or you are small. Need something for scale. Like some canned goods etc.

  29. tiredapplestar on October 31, 2019 at 6:23 pm

You can get a refurbished Vitamix for a bit cheaper. I have one of the basic models that was refurbished and I love it! Never had any issues after having it for 4 + years of using it on a daily basis.

  30. Pixie Pixel on October 31, 2019 at 6:29 pm

The instant pot is worth it for yogurt alone IMO so much cheaper then the store.

  31. new.found.vegan on October 31, 2019 at 6:31 pm

Love your juicer! My vitamix is my fave appliance and I use it at least once a day:)

  32. Hannah McCracken on October 31, 2019 at 6:32 pm

You should make a video of recipes in the Ninja foodi! I just bought one and am a little overwhelmed!

  33. molly44 on October 31, 2019 at 6:32 pm

I love my Vitamix!!! I got it gently used on Craigslist for $175 2 years ago and it also came with the smaller pitcher. Deal of a lifetime! I want to get a nicer food processor and now you’ve got me looking at that Ninja multi cooker. I do have a birthday coming up…

  34. castlenani on October 31, 2019 at 6:33 pm

The ads were killing me lol

  35. anambivalentenemy on October 31, 2019 at 6:35 pm

    Hi Caitlin!
Do you think that in every kitchen a blender AND a food processor are essential,or one can do all his work with one appliance?
Can a modest blender grind dates and nuts to form tarts for baking,or do i need a food professor also?
    Thanks and nice video!

  36. Lauren Elise on October 31, 2019 at 6:35 pm

I’m kind of upset this video didn’t show up in my subscription feed

  37. Amanda De La Torre on October 31, 2019 at 6:37 pm

Vitamix is totally worth it!!! They’re usually like 100 dollars cheaper on Amazon and even cheaper when refurbished. I just got mine and it has a 10 year warranty and it lasts more than that. It can be used to make nut butters and nut milks, you can juice with it if you get a nut milk bag, and you can make soup and dressings. I use mine 2 plus times a day. I hated chunky smoothies and it was so freaking worth it

  38. Krista Noelle Barril on October 31, 2019 at 6:39 pm

Ohhh i kinda wanna get that ninja combo because i like how it’s downsizing but a little concerned about the noise. I currently have a the magic bullet and a big food processor but i need a better blender, especially one that can hold more because sometimes making food for more people is such a hassle. BUT I LOVE MY AIR FRYER!

  39. User 123 on October 31, 2019 at 6:42 pm

I went vegan for the month and it went sooo well I’m going to continue it

  40. Ally Sluga on October 31, 2019 at 6:43 pm

If you’re looking to smooth out your cashew cream in a Ninja, pressure cook them first (as opposed to just soaking them), or boil them. It makes a huge difference

  41. Bethany Day on October 31, 2019 at 6:45 pm

i got an Oster for 60$ that has more power than your nutri bullet duo. that has about 600 watts and my oster has 1200 watts………so yeah. WOW omg. i just went through every blender on the vitamix website and not a one of them goes up to 1500 watts of power except for the most expensive one from the classic section which made it too 1600 watts of power…go with the Nutribullet brand but get the Spectra or the Master Chef version, same/more power than vitamix, literally half or MORE of the cost at like 160$. wow. f**k vitamix. my 60$ oster is only 250 watts less powerful than you vitamix. i am dying of laughter over here.

  42. Freshhcorduroy on October 31, 2019 at 6:45 pm

The air fryer is my favorite kitchen appliance right now by far. We use it multiple times a day.

  43. SweetestHoney86 on October 31, 2019 at 6:45 pm

This video is so helpful. I’ve definitely been keeping my house very minimalist and I recently gotten rid of my Keurig for a pour over and I also donated my crockpot since I’m vegan and don’t use it nearly as much. I finally upgraded from an old magic bullet to a high powered blender. I can see why you need all of these appliances for your work and passion. This helps us decide which ones we really need.

  44. piupiu on October 31, 2019 at 6:46 pm

Do you ever make rice in the instant pot? I make congee but I am afraid that it sticks if I make normal or sticky rice which requires little water..I saw that there is a ceramic non stick inside pot that you can buy but ccannot find it on french amazon yet..used to make it in this old rice cooker given to us by my bf’s mum but saw that the nonstick surface is kind of coming off and that’s cancerous I think

  45. Patti Doyle on October 31, 2019 at 6:48 pm

I don’t mind the coming up to pressure time. We never count the “coming to a boil” time when stove top cooking…and that can take a while with a full pot too.

  46. Jessie Madanat on October 31, 2019 at 6:49 pm

You should try sweet potatoes and carrots in instant pot for 8 minutes then throw in the Vitamix with coconut milk and a lil olive oil Yumm

  47. Techfitters on October 31, 2019 at 6:49 pm

Love the video and was cracking up at the snarky bit about dirty looking appliances, keeping it real haha.

  48. Nicki Loder on October 31, 2019 at 6:52 pm

I totally recommend an air fryer! I bought a semi cheap one on black Friday and I LOVE it. I would totally suggest getting a high quality one right off- I’ll definitely be upgrading when my current one breaks (or if I can find a new home for it)…maybe to the Ninja Foodi?

  49. Joe Bartlett on October 31, 2019 at 6:54 pm

where’s the George Foreman grill? lol

  50. Denise Beaver on October 31, 2019 at 6:55 pm

You should make baked whole parties in the instant pot. Cook at least 5 potatoes for 10-12 min then let natural release for 10 min. AWESOME. Creamy, moist and delicious. Even better out of the fridge the next day.
