    dunchbag talks, i like it

i dont think calvin plagiarized apashe’s vid, and even if there was influence, i dont think it matters much, as there’s nothing wrong with influence.

as for everyone else, apashe was overly hostile like you said, calvin was douchier than he needed to be, and tengraphs didnt need to be involved in this and looked childish

    love this idea for vids

The funny thing about this whole so-called EDM movement is nothing but repackaging of Electronica

  5. TenGraphs on May 12, 2020 at 4:09 pm

Well at least you picked up on me just turning it into a bit of extra press for Apashe 😉

I’m a hardcore Mick fan so I was really pissed at kshmr lol

This blew up bigger than anyone expected tbh, Ten Graphs’ interference was completely unnecessary, but Calvin also went a bit too far, but I can get behind him. Nice format though, but don’t do it too often, because it will look like attention grabbing

P.S. I didn’t know having a horror theme was attributable to Nazism.

Might as well start referring to zombie movies as Nazi movies then, because that’s where I got the inspiration for the characters.

You missed two significant tweets that Calvin Harris deleted.

    1) "check the ref and stop disrespecting legends"
and he linked a VICE article to which Apashe & I both responded to. The camera angles, color correcting/gradient/editing still the same. Adidas Tracksuits on Horses in combination with the aforementioned is way too close to just be a coincidence. Calvin Harris didn’t bother deflecting to the video director or his team

    2) "Who ever got an attorney for a music video haha…Classic overly dramatic Americans. I just watched the video it’s one scene of mine, nice song though. Lighten up everybody ❤️"
to me, this is an admission with a guilty conscience that he did see the copying, but tried to downplay it by saying "oh it was just one scene."

yes Apashe sampled Mozart’s Requiem, but he isn’t trying to hide it. People reference others all the time, but they’re not COVERT about it. They’re paying tribute, homage. Calvin Harris’ video does not do that, they’re trying to pass it off as their own idea. Whether it be Calvin Harris, or his director or the staff hired for the video.

You do see the difference right? Apashe straight up said he is recreating Mozart’s Requiem, rebirthing it in Trap Music. Calvin Harris is not saying he is recreating scenes inspired by the Majesty music video.

The only things I agree with here are:
    1) Apashe understandably reacted strongly. However, when you’re an artist and you have an idea, and then 1 of the biggest artists looks like they’re stealing something, you’re going to attack head first. Sure, it is not ‘professional’, but it’s also not ‘professional’ to copy others’ music videos and not crediting them either. Still, two wrongs don’t make a right.

    2) The dubstep-nazi stuff spiraled to a whole next degree. But yeah, poor choice of words, he did clear his position up.. Ppl are definitely getting stuck on semantics for that. You could equate this to Apashe’s approach in reacting with anger and hostility with his initial tweet. Calvin Harris didn’t make it any better when he DM’d some other guy that "he’s the reason people kill themselves," a whole other topic but yeah that convo really didn’t look good. However, I imagine it was because Calvin Harris was getting heated and annoyed by the entire situation, and was just getting frustrated.

We are, after all, all human at the end of the day.

Emil Nava needs to come out and say something about all of this. That is all.

both side imo are kinda wrong

So this is like PUBG trying to copy strike Fortnite.

I think people will buy "the underdog told to heck off by Calvin story", unfortunately. They like a hero against mainstream EDM acts, a sort of David versus Goliath deal(wink wink The Chainsmokers). Just like how people justify Joel’s tweet on Tiesto to Marshmello though I think there’s justified reason for that. Not big on the diss on Slushi, for my own reasons.

But in the end, my main viewpoint is this, using The Chainsmokers as an example: if you believe that their amuteur pop artist with an indispensable of young fanbase and mere asshole outside, you can believe and fit in your description. If you believe their living out the time of their live, kind-hearted, supportive on Disruption records, and been a fan since Selfie, you can believe it and fit in your description. Seems like everyone like making heros and villians because it fits their description, than being open minded. Look, I’m not fan of TCS, but I started to understand why people like them. Seeing YouTubers speaking about how much they don’t like versus someone who have fair said like you do is the rarest thing to exist and your not just a fan of TCS for the sake of TCS: you actually give out pros and cons, which common sense has become rare these days.

    (except for Plagrism and Ghost-Producing).

Maybe monthly news? It would probably allow for more news into one video

A couple of missed points but overall one of the best evaluations of the whole conflict 👌🏼
