Power Consumption of Typical Household Appliances | Prof. Asokan S | PHCET

Knowing the electricity consumption of appliances is always the first step towards saving electricity. Before one starts to reduce electricity in home or office, it is very important to measure the electricity consumption of all the connected appliances. But the question comes, how you measure the energy consumption of the appliances. This video gives guidance to measures the energy consumption of appliances like Tube light, LED light, TV, Refrigerator, AC etc., In addition with it provides a simple method to calculate the amount to be charged for the consumption of appliances with a sample energy bill. Here a sample electricity bill of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co.Ltd (MSEDCL) has been used for the demonstration purpose. Once we measured the energy consumption for various appliances, it would help us to reduce our electricity consumption on a specific appliance, which would extend the life time of appliances and save the money.
