Here is my review of the Zoom H2. Many of you are probably aware of the Zoom H2n, but the Zoom H2 although older is still a very capable Mic!
This is the first episode of my new series I’m calling “Retro Reviews”
In this series we will be taking a look at Retro Tech and seeing how well it stacks up to modern day tech!

Heya Luke! I actually bought mine close to (if not the same year) when it came out. It has been in storage awhile as I thought the SD card interface (module?) was shot. I haven’t confirmed that yet…but it’s likely that it’s just the SD card I was using at that time (it also didn’t help that the left hinge also broke).
As I was reading the reviews on it (and also noticed that there is a generation one that has been reviewed by Sound on Sound)…and am really liking the look of it. And no…I’m not going to wish that one I have breaks so I can have a new one.
The reason I bought mine was to record rehearsals (for performances…I could just plug into the main board)…and was pretty happy with the quality.
Were you considering other recorders before purchasing this one? Or did you have an eye on it since it came out (I know you would have been 11 at that time) and decided that it would be a good time to test it?
Great video, thanks. Josh from Josh Turner Guitar channel uses H2 and he said that H2 has superior microphones to H2n, because they’ve changed the capsules or whatnot. It’s interesting, because somehow they’ve managed to increase the battery life FIVE times, while adding a bunch of features, larger screen, etc., for the same price, so naturally I would assume that they’ve put cheaper capsules in there. So I’m going to buy a used H2 instead of the new H2n.
Bro this series is going to be fresh!! This microphone is actually still pretty good in 2019 which is surprising!

I bought the H2 when it came out yrs ago and it still holds up great quality audio even today!!! Well worth the money!!!
