Wow! They are biiiig store. Sad sad news.

  2. Macen on June 6, 2022 at 12:50 pm

This is sad, they were the last really cool electronics store. I think we all knew something was up, their shelves were 50% empty the last 2 years.

  3. D on June 6, 2022 at 12:51 pm

Sad indeed, Frys is going away. They had terrible management, just like blockbuster and Sears. Frys had a difficult time keeping up with technology and keeping the shelves full. The stores were way too big! Some parts of the stores look terrible outdated

  4. Thea Ouch on June 6, 2022 at 12:52 pm

I used to work for Frys 2004. I only shopped at Microcenter.

  5. Andrew Cox on June 6, 2022 at 12:52 pm

When I was 14 I built my first computer. I bought all my parts from frys. I spent hours in that store. Its also where I experienced VR for the first time. Cool store, hate to see it go.

  6. DayBeforeTomorrow on June 6, 2022 at 12:52 pm

They were like a Walmart, but all electronics. It was so fun walking around in there back in 2000

  7. Nerikz Niek on June 6, 2022 at 12:52 pm

In high school me and my friends would go to frys and sit in the massage chairs during our lunch period

rip, local parts for the same price online is great

  10. jbars on June 6, 2022 at 12:57 pm

Great the only place you can go and get pc parts, game stop should just add a build your PC section where you can go and buy all pc parts? Maybe that could keep game stop alive

  11. VexWard on June 6, 2022 at 12:59 pm

I bought several of the parts for my first PC I built with my dad when I was like 9 at Fry’s. We would always go there and just look at stuff. This hurts man.

  12. jvolstad on June 6, 2022 at 1:01 pm

  14. J G24 on June 6, 2022 at 1:04 pm

Nooooo!!!! One of my favorite memories was going to my cousins house and knowing we were close once we saw the Fry’s logo

  15. Jesse Perez on June 6, 2022 at 1:08 pm

Was a fry’s fan boy growing up. Then I worked there. Met some great people but most of the Management were not the best. Met some of the big wigs too when they did their tours of stores. Not great people either. Doesnt surprise me about what happened to this company. Especially what happened behind closed doors which was never a secret. Them closing down was not a surprise. It was bound to happen. I’m just surprised it didn’t happen sooner.

  16. Sam on June 6, 2022 at 1:09 pm

  18. CurlyQueue on June 6, 2022 at 1:13 pm

From the Chicago area. Fry’s used to be the place to be for everything electronics. Microcenter is the new player in the game, rip.

When you let boomers run business, you end up going out of business.

  22. Images InLA on June 6, 2022 at 1:18 pm

Going to Fry’s was like going to an event. The parking lot was always packed. Sometimes there was a security guard directing traffic. At the store in Fountain Valley (Orange County, Ca) you’d often have to park in an overflow parking lot. The parking lot in Anaheim was so big you felt like you were parking at football stadium parking lot. Some of the stores had popcorn, which customers ate while shopping. But most of all, Fry’s was a one-stop store. They had computer stuff, television stuff, stereo stuff, phone stuff, camera stuff, home security stuff, batteries, magazines, candy, soda pop, and a bunch of other stuff I can’t think of right now. My closest store was the Manhattan Beach location.

Like always, Amazon will take over their share of the market 👍

  25. Mr. BOOM! on June 6, 2022 at 1:20 pm

Used to go to Fry’s all the time to get electronics stuff. They always had stuff on sale you didn’t intend to get.
    Lots of memories.

0:55 "there’s no fun in the future" that’s facts. The bigger a company gets, the less it becomes about providing a service and more towards turning out easy profits

  27. Jermaine Rayford on June 6, 2022 at 1:23 pm

I remember frys ads on the back of the sports page in the newspaper.

  28. r burns on June 6, 2022 at 1:23 pm

Fry’s was the Techie & Home Owners dream in California & Georgia!!! The last 3-4 they started to slip and went down the tube. Was a wonderful place at its peak! When they quit sell cell phones and Camera was the start of the end! Computers, TVs, HiFi, Games, Game Systems, Parts, Accessories, Tools, Great Magazine rack, decent instore diner, what a loss!!!

  29. Lowfategg on June 6, 2022 at 1:25 pm

Built my first PC from a fry’s bundle. AMD Athlon XP 2000+, ECS motherboard, and a ATI Radeon 8500LE.

  30. Edy CM on June 6, 2022 at 1:28 pm

  31. Jacob Baranowski on June 6, 2022 at 1:28 pm

Fry’s is where I got my Sex Education; In the Magazine Aisle. The only electronics store that also sold porno magazines and DVDs.

  42. Bryant M on June 6, 2022 at 1:38 pm

I knew it was going out of business last time i went they were still open but holy hell it was mad empty of people and product and i told my girlfriend that i wouldnt be surprised if they just went out of business cause they couldnt compete against Amazon,Best Buy,etc but whats crazy tho is that it didnt take long for such to happen cause i remember i went in 2017 with some friends and it was packed but hey it is what it is
