Sears At Town East Mall – Mesquite, TX
Sears At Town East Mall – Mesquite, TX
Sears At Town East Mall – Mesquite, TX. This is the last remaining full line Sears store in the DFW area. Up until the Summer of 2020 there were still 3 locations including the Hulen Mall Sears and Parks At Arlington Sears. Both closed recently. Out of the three, this was by far the best looking location, the largest, and most updated store. Looked great and was considerably busy. Only time will tell if parent company, Transform Co, will give this store the axe just like they have every other location. Rumor has it the entire company liquidated all remaining assets by January 2021. I hope that I am wrong. This is a very nice Sears store.

YOUTUBE SUCKS
Nice video, I would have to drive about five hours to get to one.
This Sears is pretty awesome, I really was impressed by my visit in August of this year. Here are some things I noticed from my visit. #1 The fitness and sporting goods department had a rack of Smart Sense products and vitamins. This is the first Sears I have seen those Kmart products for sale in. #2 The tool department had a lot of excess items for sale like floor tiles, industrial cleaner buckets, and used tools from the back. Usually those items are not put up for sale until a store is liquidated. 6 weeks after I visited the store is still going, fingers crossed it makes it through 2020. Great video Wallie!
looks like a 1980s sears shoes except then u picked the shoe and they went to back and brought it to you to try on or buy
When you said this is a big sears, mine is the biggest in the country. Woodfield mall in Schaumburg Illinois. So I am used to it.
Great video! I do have to say that your negative comments about YouTube was a little jarring! I understand that you need to vent but my family and I love watching for the positive, serene vibes. Please keep negative comments in the drafts because your bad attitude is depressing! Much love and have a Sears-licious day!
Happy to see some normalcy again . Thanks for sharing , love your channel .
Nice looking Sears! ❤️
16:47 Have A Searslicious Day! 😆
I worked in that Store for 6 years and transferred to the Auto Center.
I live down the street from this mall, and grew up going to Town East. That Sears ain’t going anywhere. Town East Mall still does a killing during the holidays, and is a major supplier of tractors & mowers. I used to work there repairing lawn mowers, building tractors, and building grills & smokers. You notice how it’s busy even during the pandemic. It’s death has been foretold many times, it survives because people shop there!
Regarding copyright claims: they use a fingerprinting system. Audio creators upload sample copies of their music, and Youtube hashes it creating a fingerprint which they match against uploaded content. Be angry at the law, not Youtube.
Well Wallie I’m glad you enjoyed my mall so much
YouTube sucks with the copyright overhead music
It’s the Sears store where the viral video of three angry women confronting the cashier over their credit card being declined was filmed!
avg size of a sears is about 150,000 sq feet and up few of the coperate mall stores are smaller but there are (have been ) many that well exceed that in large markets with their largest to my knowledge not counting there old warehouse shipping plants being 350k sq feet love sears /k mart
That is one super fantastic looking Sears.
The flagship one at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg Illinois and another one in Chicago Ridge Mall in Chicago Ridge Illinois are also open and crazy busy even during off peak times
This opened in 1971
It uses the Canadian logo
Wow and looks to have alot of merchandise for a change.
Reminds me of the former Nashua, NH Sears in terms of layout.
Really enjoyed the video. Got a good chuckle at all the different youtube audio muted moments. You mentioned thinking the Sears sign looked like it had a scar behind it. Did some research and according to several dead mall web sites that location has always been a Sears dating back to the mall opening. Other news articles list it as the last Sears in that part of Texas after 2 others close this year. With that said I also found a real estate listing for the building and land for sale by Sears. The listing mentions Sears would close for redevelopment or lease space from the new owner temporarily. So it seems like eventually this site will likely close as well. Sad to say!!
everythings bigger in texas wallie
12:09. Yall caught me at work lol. Worked there for 2 years. Started a new job july 20th though. Make 15/hour now
That Sears is down right AMAZING!
That is one darn nice looking Sears! It reminds me a lot of the Woodfield Mall store.
Wow! I have never seen a Sears store this big! At least where I live in NY! There are not any this size! As far as I know! Good video!
I’m sure the Sears at the Mall of America was up there sq ft wise too since it was three floors. That has since closed.
Every time I see a Sears now I think about Tim Allen on home improvement always wanting to go to sears for more tools
I miss going to my Sears I remember going into that store as a kid in the 2010s before Fast Eddie closed it down in 2017
Wallie please check out a Halloween store
Last time I went to Town East Mall, someone shot out the back window of my truck with a pellet gun.
The driving school kind of blows my mind, though. So different from Massachusetts. I used to work at one 😅
You know the audio may be muffled to you but YouTube probably amplifies the audio so it can catch ever tiny snippet of copyrighted music you have in the video! But great video dude.😂
I lived in east Texas when I was a kid and being on the east side of Dallas, the Town East Mall was the one we went to. It’s amazing to me how so malls are shutting down. My mother moved to Plano, Tx 30 years ago and the Collin Creak mall not too far from her house closed down. I guess that’s why Amazon got so huge!
Here’s another view of a Sears to compare with this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORV4kYa8J18
This store is now in the process of closing.
When I was little and in the car with my father and another car driver would do something to piss him off he’d yell, "Where’d you learn how to drive, Sears?"
I’ve never would have thought that Sears have a driving school. As long as Fast Eddie is not teaching people how to drive. He will teach you how to drive straight into a wall.
Nice store! Of course, everything is bigger in Texas. 😀
Audio muted because youtube gets beat up at the bus stop lmfao
Sears was a good store, it’s a shame they closed up.
I guess Fleetwood Mac and U2 have enough money.
I went to this store in May 2020 right after most things reopened and it was empty no one there but the rest of the mall that day was crowded
Town East Mall has always been my favorite Dallas Area mall there is just something magical about that place must be in the unique design
That mall opened in 1971 and Sears was original to the mall as Sanger-Harris now Macy’s, Dillards & JC Penny are the other anchors. I also like how they used the shiny border tile to fix the areas that use to be the dull tiles. I going to say their Merchandise Pickup area was also used as the catalog department before the big remodel in the mid 90’s. Cleanest looking Sears I have seen in long while.
A little negative during the cut audio portions, stay happy my friend!
This is so cool! I miss sears!!! I love it!!
Awesome video
Thanks for sharing Wallie. the sears logo is pretty cool 😀
My name is still up on the wall of fame.
