Aabria is a great DM, love her style! And fun to see Matt as a player with a great character (Yay Dwarves! There should always be one in a party) and perfectly playing the game without letting the DM/Worldbuilder bleed out of his character, which can be a challenge. Watching this after being introduced to half the party in Campaign 3, and I love how well Robbie does support from the get-go. Most would be content with Dariax being the light source and dispatching with other problems, but Robbie saw that being a disadvantage to /Dariax/ so he helped him out in turn. It’s so rare that I see players using, let alone remembering that they have common items that can be used for problem solving, /especially/ in battle, and it’s a delight to see how he interacts with the game in his own inventive ways.
Ok, but the whole npc/gentrification thing could not be misunderstanding the issue more. Everything the dm said made me want them to turn her into the guards more

At some point, if you can’t accept what the dice say, maybe you’ve picked the wrong game… 😏 It’s so ironic that he’s the one who introduced Sam Riegel to D&D and yet Sam’s the one who gets it and proved it by refusing to use his Halfling Luck trait in C2 just because he thought it would be less fun—esp. with the Tinkertop Bolt Blaster 3000 which led to great moments of comedy.

Watching for the first time after just finishing E14 of C3 and at 29:00 when they didn’t 🎶Makin’ my way🎶 I damn near cried 😂
I have some hard time understanding some more of the expressions used by the DM from time to time… Made me feel old as heck.
I’ll be honest, upon first introduction I thought Opal was going to grate on my nerves a little bit because her type of character often does for me, but I’m halfway through and Aimee plays her as so sweetly charming and earnest that I can’t help but like her! Also, I love the way Aabria describes things, like the wind carrying the "salty bite" of the ocean and the "bleeding edge" of Orym’s memory. Her descriptions have so much character and flavour to them, it makes the world feel so alive.
Edit: Also, I love how Aabria is so willing to work with the players and characters for checks and such. Like for example (spoilers for about 2:21:50) when Orym falls down the hold and she asks him to make an athletics check and he says "I’m more of a ballerina", she is immediately like "oh yeah go ahead and do acrobatics!" And she’s done things like that quite a few times. She’s not like "I’m the GM and I say what the check is", she’s ready to do whatever the players are about as long as it makes sense in the world. You can really tell she’s here to make sure everyone has a good time

I don’t get it. The self proclaimed crimial threatens the party "do stuff for me or else" so they can become friends? Even the players had real problems going along with this. The only reason they did was because they understood they needed to follow the bad narrative… Wierd start. Is there some backstory here that I need to know to make this fit?

I was extremly sad to see that none of the critical role cast plays a dwarf in campaign 3. But Matt is lifting my spirits that there may be a chance in campaign 3
And it was all downhill from here.
