got one more under sizing and or hidden costs to make the bid look better but then you buy the system twice and or going from A/C only to a heat pump that was so-post be there in the first installation at the right size ect.
Hi! Have you heard of the brand Kanion? Any thoughts on it if you did? Thanks!
I’m sorry to tell you friend. But some thermostat companies recommend you install batteries in addition to having a common tied to it. Also, so thermostats keeps it settings and functions if power is lost. Secondly, every industry adjust prices according to supply and demand.
Well, I have to ask, why is it that I can buy a gas water heater and install it, you know, hook up the gas, ventilate it and be fine, but when it comes to installing a furnace, that becomes an issue. It costs between 5 to 7 thousand dollars in my area for an install but the actual heater is 5 to 7 hundred dollars. I have to believe that a furnace is the same. The technology was fine last week, but now, it’s not? Hey, I’m not in "The Business". You guys are all full of yourselves. Yes, you too. Just trying to sell your services! Bunch of hoooie!
Honesty is my number 1 policy. You will go far with that attitude.from one tech to another keep up the great work!!! Local 638 NY,NY
Working for a contractor in Florida, I am very skeptical of this video.
1st point: I have not seen this, I have seen discounts in the off season, infrequently a premium charge for a rush job if other jobs have to be postponed and the customer was aware of the fact.
2nd point: I have never seen a t-stat that ignored the common wire if batteries were in it, and no brand or model was mentioned that did this.
3rd point: Agreed that people who do this are bad. I will point out that warranties can change if the home ownership does. commonly extended 10 year will revert to basic 5 year. Even worse is when companies defraud manufactures by filling out warranty paperwork with previous owners name to get the parts under warranty.
I think way to much information was left out of a video that tries to say "others bad, we honest".
Not even sure how I found myself here, but thank you for your time and information!
So how does it benefit the repair company to lie about my HVAC not covering the parts under warranty?
Excellent information and help to the homeowner.
Brother. The problem here is not you. The problem is I CAN NOT PUT MORE THAN 1 👍👍👍👍👍 FOR YOU…
YOUR VIDEO IS GREAT. THANK YOU SO MUCH AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU.
Thanks to you, I was able to fix my Lenox H Vac, I listened to your video, and of course the back up battery was toast! As soon as I changed it, we had air, this is a Saturday afternoon, for sure I was waiting for a big bill, you saved the day, big thank you!
What is opinion about uv light installation..is it worth ?
This is the company you want to do business with! Good job sir! 👍🏼👍🏼
The car dealer thing is true. I got a great deal at the end of the month, the loan officer even said to come by its the end if the month and one sales rep needed to make quota.
Great video I will always go with an honest contractor like yourself over a crook 👍👍👍👍
I had a new furnace installed and it’s noisy. Its Smart air 1000 .Its. been 5 days.J can get my money back in 4 days.The. salesperson told me,a technician would move the furnace and lubricate it to fix the issue.Even though I am not a technician,I think, the model itself is noisy and nothing will make it quiet unit .Do you aggree?I am stuck in the middle don’t know, what to do. I payed 4.663$.Thank you fog replying.
batteries are only for back up. no way if common is used would the batteries be in the circuit.
I’m very honest with my home owners and have honestly got more love from the homeowners that way. And I always tell them, " If you want to know , just ask" the only thing I won’t show customers is anything involving electrical other than the T-stat, even those pull out disconnects, I won’t even show them how to put it back, i just rush my ass there and put it back if i have to, because if their fingers slip into the disconnect I don’t want to be liable for an injury or death. However I tell them why our prices are the way it is. And I’ll tell them, you can get it cheaper but you’re liable for anything you replace on your own. I hate that people do shady shit for money, I understand you’re on task pay, but also have empathy, in the long run it will reward you more. It’s hard for me to lie, and I won’t, be accountable and take responsibility. Being honest is the best job security there is.
You know what, I appreciate you telling us the secrets, but I personally do not want to mess with my stuff, I will still call a technician to come look at it. With my luck, I can use one of the secrets but the whole HVAC system will go down LOL!
Thank you Brother, never been a JOINER. Installed my OWN Furnace several times and installed Central Air with line Sets and Thermostats with NO HVAC experience also installed my Own Electric Meter from the pole to the house and Put in a New Panel Box many many years ago. People can take Action and Do it yourself instead of always believing they have to rely on another. God Bless you for Sharing Knowledge as this is Key. Everything I have done has been reviewed by Professionals though and I have gotten the atta boy and node.
Truth, integrity and character matters!!!

Thank you for your video.
People like you us what we need.
Thank you again
Not in the business but I don’t see how following supply and demand curves is bad. If work is slow adjust to be more competitive, or should people stay home not making money?
ALL industries raise prices during peak times. Generally I’ve noticed ( construction trades for 33 years) have seen sub par employees in companies run by people who were themselves once in the field and moderately successful so they instantly think they can manage budgets , schedules and personal. Do your homework when you buy a car , a furnace or anything else, if you fall into trusting everyone you may get taken . This goes for businesses that are new but also businesses that have been in the game for decades.
Good advice. Great job. Thanks
I really don’t know what you’re talking about with the thermostat batteries. Been in the field for going on a decade… Im in Georgia and I always add batteries to my customers thermostat even if they are hardwired and I’ve never seen a situation where I added batteries and the system stopped working… like how? that’s honestly kinda laughable 😂 very confused about what your talking about.
There are more and more haters now. I work in a different trade I get the same. In automotive it’s getting to a computer engineering level. Complex eeprom programming ect…. I get customers that come in I diagnosis it in an hour, a lot have already been to multiple shops or one shop that’s been throwing parts at it. It boils down to training. Most techs don’t want to do training anymore. They would rather sell parts and come up with bogus stories to why it didn’t work then spend a few months training Then the few shops that hit the books all the time set them straight and they come unglued. It to the point now it’s complex these shops are going to be going under unless they get with it. Social media is a good place to make your statement and customers can hear it from you not someone talking behind your back. You can also use it as platform to showcase your hard earned skills, and prove the nay sayers wrong. Keep it up.
ilmfao! so when your car battery dies. its because of the crooked car dealership that sold you the car. Or cause you are too stupid to change the batteries when it tells you Low Battery.
Can you help me with something please I have a question
Their are a lot of HVAC companies that survive on overpriced and uneducated customers for profits. Its the norm. If you have a mechanic or a HVAC friend, they will vouch for the steep markups.
This whole video is a sales tactic for gullible customers in your city 🤣 oh no the haters 😂
Do you do over the phone consult for a fee?
Sorry for all the Heat you got from helping us. Appreciate your honest info.
Good job ! Keep it up!
I never put batteries in a stat. I couldn’t tell you how many I’ve replaced from the the acid ruining the stat. If we have to absolutely have to use batteries, we definitely tell the homeowner to replace them once a year. I’m not sure about your area but these aren’t secrets that Hvac companies don’t want homeowners to know. I’ve been in field for 17yrs and we tell our homeowners everything they need to know . We don’t have or keep secrets. we tell people the truth and are honest I’m every situation. I’m sure different areas in the country see different situations and scenario’s but I don’t see your three “secrets” that you mentioned being “secrets” like all companies are hiding these things . Maybe it’s just my area.
nice job keep it up LIKE TRUMP. KEEP US GREAT AGAIN 🙂
Almost all industries change there prices according to volume. Many of my long term customers stay loyal because they know there getting a quality job at a fair price every time.
Yeah, you’ll always have a handful of haters!
Great job.
So if the battery dies then it causes the AC have problems too?
Why do so many people in America have bars on the condenser outside? Is it a tornado/hurricane protection system?
I’m here to seek some help. I recently had my AC replaced in my 787sq 1 bedroom condo in Houston TX, the tech recommended a 2 ton unit and that what was installed but now it appears to be short cycling, it runs between 4-5 mins and shuts off. Is my unit to big? From online sources a 1.5 ton would have been sufficient. my thermostat wasn’t replaced during the install so could that also be a reason for short cycling?
And if they recommend the wrong size and the short cycling is caused from it, would they be responsible to change the unit out for the correct size?
Any help would be much appreciated!
CZN DOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HIW THE HECH DO I REMOVE THE RETURN COVER. I KNIW HOW TO REPLACE FILTER, CAN’T GET THE COVER OFF. ITS RUSTED, DIRTY , I JUSTBWANT TO REPLACE IT. PLEASE
You seem like a very ethical technician. God bless you.
Giving a homeowner the installer code to their thermostat is just stupid. Today’s thermostats are designed so that they can be used on all sorts of different types of equipment. Giving them the code enables the homeowner to make all sorts of negative changes to a system that the homeowner might then try to blame the contractor for. Examples, changing your AC cycles per hour to unlimited so that the AC short cycles the compressor to death. Changing the furnace from 2 stage to single stage so that the 2nd stage doesn’t kick in and the house gets cold when it’s -20c outside. Changing the entire mode of the thermostat from a furnace to heat pump or something similar so the unit that is installed doesn’t operate at all or damages it is some way. Changing whether the thermostat operates the blower or the equipment operates the blower and then the blower doesn’t doesn’t kick in during AC mode, the compressor and evap turns into a block of ice possibly slugging the compressor and destroying it. Ya great idea giving the homeowner the code they are specifically not supposed to have.
Being honest always gets the work
