In this video, I show you guys how I keep track of my finances in my 20s , so everything from my income , expenses , budget , net income , and some of the information that I need to do my taxes with when that time comes around ( business expenses , business income ). Honestly, when I was first learning about how to track my money … I found it to be a little bit overwhelming even though it felt like it should have been really easy . Turns out, once you’ve set up your system , it can be super straight forward and then it’s just a matter of including this into your end of month routine . I kind of wish they taught us a bit more about how to manage finances in school, but hey I guess the internet is a good place to learn. I’m by no means an expert, and this is just what I do , but thought it would still be helpful to some of you or at least give you ideas on how to manage your money! I used microsoft excel for my spreadsheets … but you can totally use something like Google sheets as well 🙂

✩ GOOGLE SHEETS / EXCEL TEMPLATE ✩
Update (August 2021): Since some of you requested it, here’s a google sheets template that you can use for your own finances: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jk2zghNC1A3OSbXkqwKu4DKZx0MAY1BHf99O3j5dHSQ/edit?usp=sharing
All you have to do is hit “File — Make a Copy” and you’ll have your own copy to edit. I left it the same as it is in the video, so obviously rename things according to your own financial needs (change streams of income, some expenses might not apply to you, different bank accounts, etc.).
If you want it as an Excel File on your computer instead of Google Sheets, just hit “File – Download – Microsoft Excel”. I hope that’s somewhat helpful to those of you requesting it – might help speed things up! I do recommend you still follow along with the video to understand some of it 🙂

Thanks for this. It’s helpful, I been trying to see more into tracking my money
UPDATE: Since some of you requested it, I have now added a template of the sheet I used in the video in the description of this video. You can make your own copy and rename things according to your own finances. A bit more info in the description box. Hope it helps! Please let me know if for some reason it doesn’t work, and I’ll try to fix it ASAP.
I just happened upon this video in my suggested videos and really great job!
I really like your layout and formula usage, there is a really awesome tool available within Excel for windows but not yet fully functional in Mac called Power Query that would really push your template to the next level and save you sometime with your expense categorizations.
If you are going to do a part two to this video I would love to offer some suggestions for power query use. If you are interested.
If not that cool, and keep up the great work and looking forward to future videos as a new subscriber.
I plan on using your template for personal use, thank you for taking time to make your video.

USING THIS IN 2022
thank you for saving my life!
Hi, how do you import data into excel? Do you have to do it mannualy or is there an automated way? Thanks in advance! 🙂
This is literally my cure for depression. Thank you so much Lina! <3
Are “Savings” considered Expenses?
You Save a lot of money, then what do you do?
Very helpful: ) thanks for posting Lina!
I legit found the pun really funny 😂😂 Thank you so much for this video and for the template too! ❤️❤️
I’m 24 years old and gonna be starting college next year. I was just wondering how the hell do I start budgeting?
After I selected income or expenses examples that I like, what’s next? Am I supposed to just put a random amount on how much money I spend for those expenses category? I’m just confused and would like a broken down clarification to what I do after I’ve chosen my expenses or incomes.
I love the music you chose! Your whole vibe is amazing!
Hi Lina !!!
just disliked because instead of fixing the video, adds in text the mistakes and that makes things confusing for people who are not from US and CANADA. And also, it doesn’t make sense to me that a person make content about budgets, expenses and income but hide the real information about that. I think would be good for ending the stigma about money.
Thanks for the tips and spreadsheet! Very helpful 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing! This is probably the most useful video on personal finance management that I have found. You even showed how to do the sum function on excel! LEGEND! 🙌🏼❤️
What are you a poster or just an advertising channel? Your video goes for 15 minutes and half of that is add. Boooo
That is good. Spreadsheets work, but i switched to an online app because i was bad a collecting receipt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_VZ0BhGKS8
Too much on the advertisement and promotion stuff. First, you should go through the "how I manage my money…". Or at least put much more time into that instead of discussing the watch stuff. Too much self-promotion.
amazing!
Can you put the template in the bio? 😀
Great video!

No point in making a video if you are using fake numbers.

Thank you so much!!!!!
helpful thank you keep grinding
This is great! thanks for the google docs template! took a huge weight off my shoulders
Forget typing sum and brackets etc when wanting to add up just select the column or rows and add an empty box at the end then click auto Sum or the Greek E button and it adds it up for you and fills that number in the empty box. Bit easier.
This was so helpful!!!!
She’s unemployed
Goddamn it she sounds so innocent
For years I struggled with outstanding debts, bills and my children’s school fees. I was at a point where I wanted to give up when I came across YouTube about how to make and multiply your income through passive income. Fortunately, I had saved some money and decided to start an investment (with the help of an investment advisor). Right now I’m sitting at around 1.2 million R.O.I. and have paid my debts in full.
$50 for medical insurance ?!
Not only super cute but smart too 🙂
