Awe and heartbreak in equal measure. We are so used to seeing fully formed solid tornadoes it’s a real surprise to see how devastating a near invisible nascent twister can be. Incredible footage.

What a stunning video! I know others have probably said something similar. But I am gob smacked as to the movement of the tornado. You always hear how sometimes tornadoes "jump" or don’t go in a straight line. I can’t tell you how many times I was watching, and thinking "It’s going that way". And not a second later, it takes a left or a right hand turn. Amazing.

Was there no plywood on that roof? The sheet metal was obvious but I didn’t see any 4×8 sheets of plywood go with

This is why homes there cost 5 bucks. But here in California with an ocean view, 5 million for a shack that was built in the 70s.

  23. ChetoGuitar on May 6, 2022 at 7:27 pm

houses are made of the worst quality possible in the USA¿¿even smaller trees resisted better

  24. Clay Harley on May 6, 2022 at 7:27 pm

It’s funny how the footage @ 2:20 doesn’t look that strong, but ripped the roof off a house.

  25. kudjo24 on May 6, 2022 at 7:28 pm

This is probably the best example of why people need to take tornado warnings MUCH more seriously. You cannot always "see" a physical tornado, the vortex is much like a vacuum that just sucks on your siding and roof until it and everything else attached to it rips up into the sky. Tornadoes are not very linear at any stage of their formation or life.

What kind of drone/camera-rig was used to film this? Even from a distance i imagine the winds were still strong, so im amazed how steady the footage is.

1:36 that transformer blowing was real crazy to watch. A lot of times in storms, even when there’s no lightning, you’ll see bright colorful flashes and I’ve always heard they’re often transformers blowing but I’ve never seen it like this before
