I live in Elgin off monkey and 1704 and this video is 100% true. I just now finished helping a person pull a tree off a trailer so they can collect debris and start their cleanup. I literally had a tornado cross my backfield.
I literally had a collection of tornados travel thru my back field. The width was maybe 300ft wide but threw debris 200-500ft in the air if I had to guess. I only knew something was very wrong since torndaos warning alerts was blasting on my phone and when I went to my back door a tarp that was tied down was standing up like a flag and the "cowboys" behind me had cows running around in a big circle.
It missed my home, the mobile homes behind me and a few structures, but just over the ridge it took out maybe 4 homes that where less than 1/2 to 1mile from me.

I live in Elgin off monkey and 1704 and this video is 100% true. I just now finished helping a person pull a tree off a trailer so they can collect debris and start their cleanup. I literally had a tornado cross my backfield.
I literally had a collection of tornados travel thru my back field. The width was maybe 300ft wide but threw debris 200-500ft in the air if I had to guess. I only knew something was very wrong since torndaos warning alerts was blasting on my phone and when I went to my back door a tarp that was tied down was standing up like a flag and the "cowboys" behind me had cows running around in a big circle.
It missed my home, the mobile homes behind me and a few structures, but just over the ridge it took out maybe 4 homes that where less than 1/2 to 1mile from me.
FWIW I donate food at one of food bank and tomorrow doing a red cross donation. I think the VFW on sayer/vfw rd is a staging area for recovery, utilities and responders.

I’ve actually STUDIED tornadoes and you would think storm chasers would be smarter than this guy is. If you are within 1/2 mile of a tornadic storm cell, (at that distance you are actually inside the cell) a finger can drop right down on top of you at any moment. Not good. While the cell itself might only be going 35 – 45 mph, the base of a tornado can travel long distances in mere seconds. Goodnight Irene. Well known fact: the farther away you are from a tornado, (don’t take that to stupid distances just to argue) the better the footage will be. Unfortunately, there’s cash prizes for footage of the closest to a tornado that you can get. How do these "storm cowboys" not know how to use the "zoom in, zoom out" feature on cameras?
