When running car subwoofers indoors can car subwoofers be placed on top of a wooden desk

  2. alekpo2000 on July 25, 2020 at 7:57 pm

oh i did the same whit some old boss amps and was the best stereo ive ever had in my house. i think his power supply is a tad too much i mean most amps will run all day whit an old car battery and work until the voltage drops to 9volts so… and also the volume needed in ur house isnt that much.

  3. big bob on July 25, 2020 at 7:57 pm

What other way can you supply the power without the alternators??

  4. richard abney on July 25, 2020 at 8:01 pm

That’s insane but awesome love to here some Floyd on that system great video will subscribe

  5. Darrel Sapp on July 25, 2020 at 8:01 pm

My previous in home system was powered by a 700watt PC powersupply, 250watt amp and 2 boss ten inch, yes completely underpowered but still rocked the house. My next setup will be using a 1600 watt power supply, charging 5 500amp capacitors to supply to power to a new 6000watt amp. At full power, should be able to boom for about 8 to 10 seconds (kinda like draining your battery without a good alternator) but I don’t plan on having it anywhere near that level. Once things pick up again (during that rona virus right now lol) I will be doing like this man did and getting an alternator and small electric engine. Just to be clear, that was the plan before seeing this video but this man seriously gave me some ideas. Now a question, is it actually safe to have those batteries inside the home?

Wow, always wanted to do something like that but not to that level. I am planning to use an old HU and some old amps and speakers for my garage system. Seems fitting. Really enjoy your vids Big D Wiz!

You might cause an avalanche, i wondered if the concept would work, i once had a power adapter you could select 12 volt negative ground, so i ran a head unit and wired an amplifier to it , i just didnt get as far as connecting subwoofers though, i once pulled my car up along side my house and extended the wires to the 15 inch Rockwood sub i had and i then put the boom box inside through a window , and played a digital bass cassette tape i had the volume set at medium and the low bass frequency’s began to seriously flex the ceiling and walls ,, they were moving like the sub, i didnt bring the other 2 cerwin vega XL12s in thought , i liked that fact my walls were still standing

  16. Anthony Efx on July 25, 2020 at 8:17 pm

I would like to see this but instead of wiring it up to a dead head. Wire the amps to the preouts of a home theater receiver

  17. Dee Boy on July 25, 2020 at 8:17 pm

hie i need advice on how to build sub box for an indoor setup the one im using now the bass does not circulate the whole room.

looks like a fun project. if i were him, and living in Alaska I’d do it too. But back here in the contiguous, with my limited knowledge vs his, nooooo

  24. Mark Shade on July 25, 2020 at 8:27 pm

I used to dabble in car audio, before 1995 or so.

On thing that I see as bring hugely different from those days to now is the amperage that the amps can and do draw.

When and why did amps change from being 25 – 50 amp power draw to the ones you often show with 200+ amps of draw?

That seems to be a huge change from way back when.

Most baddass setup I’ve ever seen. If I had the money to build the system of my dreams this is what it would look like.

Im sorry but that is the biggest complicated shitty sounding system I’ve ever heard. Why the hell would anyone want to do all that for some music. A standard home audio receiver like Yamaha or something and some quality tower speakers. I’ve had 10" dcm towers that were loud and some paradigm towers even bose 701’s. I jus don’t see the point behind this. The money he got in batteries and all that equipment. He could have a damn dj system with rack amps and dual 18" cerwin vega subs some shit that will shake a night club

  42. RYTHMIC RIOT on July 25, 2020 at 8:45 pm

I remember installing some 5 1/4 MB Quart coaxial speakers in cardboard boxes in order to make house speakers. The results were "Meh" for the most part as home and car audio are two vastly different entities and not necessarily interchangeable. At the time I carried around the notion that car audio speakers were far superior to home audio speakers which couldn’t be further from the truth. Anyhow, it’s honest fun.

  43. Michael Walters on July 25, 2020 at 8:47 pm

    Hell Yeah

  44. Austin Tyler on July 25, 2020 at 8:47 pm

Wow Big D that’s alotta music for the house. They make some nice home stereo amps that do 2ohm. I think even 1 ohm too. Thanks brother old video I know. I was doing research on car subwoofer use in house. Got a Morel ultimate sc 12"2 . I need a nice T line box maybe tuned to around 20hz, w wolfram 2400.1 was gonna run speaker in house to break in properly.

  50. jeremiah white on July 25, 2020 at 8:55 pm

I wonder if he knows you can get large ac to DC converters? Really cool setup but a little more overcomplicated than it needs to be.
