2022 Mac Studio Review: DONT Do It.

The Mac Studio is more of what we’ve come to expect from Apple Silicon based Macs. It’s fast, sleek, and has a huge Apple logo on top. It’s not much different from the new MacBook Pros but hey, this one won’t complain about it’s battery getting low. Plus- you can pair it with Apple’s new Studio Display which.. is a topic for another video.. So make sure to subscribe to hear more about the Mac Studio and Studio Display.

I don’t have my Studio yet but Zi think I am going to velcro it to my desk too keep it from moving around. By the way, I moved on from SD cards and use CFe cards in my workflow, too bad apple didn’t put a slot in there for that (wonder how many use CFe – probably not too many but most of us Canon R5 users do, and love them) but at least they put those ports on there!

    Nice vid!

Should I go with the mac studio if my goal is to be a professional machine learning programmer and hacker while doing music production and some video content for my private singing as well or am I better off with a MacBook pro or should I hold my horses and money and wait for the new macbook air instead?! Right now I study python, c++ machine learning, cubase and am probably gonna buy fcp as well. Am developing a singing studio at home with an audio interface and voice booth, and also want a little hacking lab / machine learning lab over time so that I can work professionally from home…
Money wise is hardly any difference per month to rent these machines. Is 120 dollars per month for a macbook 16 inch, 64 gb ram, and 4 tb ssd and 32 gpu…and a little less for the same configuration with the mac studio… though I need to buy a new screen for the studio in that case as I use an iMac 27 right now…
What benefits will these have for me and what I dream to achieve?

    – Love your content!👌🏻

Even Media Composer run natively on M1 CPUs…

I was going to Max out the Ultra GPU, but then i realized for the upgrade money i could buy an RTX 3080 and slap it on my old custom PC (32gb DDR3 Ram, 1080 ti Graphics, i7 Quad Core 3.5ghz) thats been collecting dust ever since i got the M1 mac mini. I would use this for blender and unreal engine work.

Was the upgrade from the M1 pro worth it? I currently have the M1 pro 16 core, 16 gb ram. I was thinking about adding the 32 core max to my setup as my work from home cpu. I do a lot of photo and video editing with 4K 10 bit. Also, I like to have 3 displays but this reason alone wouldn’t justify it.

Are you considering a Mac Studio? Would ever switch from Windows to go all M1?? 👇🏻

Great video, thanks for explaining all the details for us tech amateurs lol

@tyler price I want to switch from a windows computer to either a Mac Mini or Mac Studio. I am an amateur photographer who uses light room classic. When I am processing my images I have an email app open and firefox open with a bunch of tabs. I am not a videographer.

My photo library is 300gb in size and my music library is 100gb in size. It took me approximately 10 years to 15 years to shoot my images. My total storage use is about 500mb. I think I can get by with 2tb of storage but would like to have 4 tb of storage.

Will a Mac Mini with 16gb of ram and 2tb of storage be sufficient for my needs.

Is there a way to tell Mac Os to compress files and directories as part of the filesystem.
