Hi, I like the way you test 5 types of car phone holders. Very detailed ! If possible, can you test which kind of car tire pump is the best and useful for 4-door vehicles (midle size)? There was a man who did this, but he talked too much, so I gave up, didn’t watch his full videos!Thanks.
I used to use a vent phone holder with my old car, the vents actually didn’t work. With my new car the vents work, so I can’t use it anymore as it overheats my phone. With the new car, I have a weird cup holder that is by my steering wheel/driver door, so that cup holder one may be the best choice for me.
The ones that stick on the dash have a bad rep in hot climates also. Just check out the many fails listed on Amazon for these types. Also suction cups will always fail eventually with possible damage to your phone. Cup holders are too far away from your view of the road so too dangerous. That really leaves vent holders as the best option IMO.

For the clamshell use some double sided 3m foam tape.
Clam shell and windshield holders obstruct your view too much, imo, the cup holder is way to far out of line of sight. I prefer the vent holders for placement and ease of use. I have one from Auto zone and it’s excellent.
I like the clam type holder buy some double sided tape easy to mount again.

The clamshell version looks awesome. But I don’t want sticky residue on my dash!! No WAY.
i have one but it goes on the rear view mirror and its perfect. the ones that you put on the vents are not good because if u need the heather it might damage the phone aND IF You NEED THE AC the phone might block the AC so for me the one on the mirror works perfect . there is another one that goes on the cd thing too! that one is good 2
this is a bad test. You don’t examine usability while driving. Taking the phones out then replacing them has a huge impact the the viability of the vent mounted and window mounted ones. Even the clam shell one is bad because you need two hands. The cup mounted one is the best.
I know I’m a bit late but could you do maybe a video recording comparison? Which one provides the best stability when recording video.
The window mount suction cup will eventually stop holding. I had one of those, lasted less than 6 months.

i actually have a clip one, and it works great….the suction cup, sticky kind, and vent, all sucked for me.

For the clamshell I would use some rubberized glue.
i had to get a vent mount as my arms are short, the windshield mount my phone was hard to reach.

I would like to see how the one that attaches to the windshield or dash holds up in the sun, like, if it’s hot and sunny outside, and you park your car in a place that’s sunny for a few hours…
I wouldn’t be able to use the cup holder or the vent the one in my vent slips out a lot so maybe I’ll try the dash I also need a place for my sunglasses wonder if the dash would work for that
The window holder,I’ve found if you lick your finger and rub it on the plastic circle it seals better.🇬🇧
The shell one is terrible… i had it for months and wasn’t sticky anymore

I’ve never had luck with suction cup phone holders. They always fall off
I enjoyed your review on automotive cell phone interior holders…there is another factor you might want to look at. Heat in a vehicle. Will affect the suction or adhesive type of cell mount holders to dashboard or windshild mounts. My lady goes through cell phone mounts. Please advise a sturdy cell phone mount.

you should check out the CD player phone mounts; usually in a convenient location and some are really good.
the suction cup ones are always garbage…
the tsumbay I think is mounted on the sun visor, not on the dash.
Don’t know if you washed the clamshell base but sometimes it gets sticky again if you do.

I got a mpow cd player mount. If you have a cd player you don’t use it’s probably most people’s best option. The one’s that stick to the window are unreliable and actually illegal in a couple of States. The cup mount is dangerous and the dash mount is useless since lots of applications are impossible or difficult to use in landscape.
There is double face stick use it for the flat holder i have the same
