Another Ghost City !!!! It’s an embarrass how the American cities are build compare with the European ones. Almost no pedestrian area…highway and freeway cutting entire boroughs, people live in a boring residential area 10 miles from downtown, no really historical o remarkable place to see!!!! A lot of ghettos or danger place to avoid !!! 90% of Americans never visit Europe extensively, otherwise they will outrage and angry !!!

“Cliff things?” It’s called the Texas Hill Country. I left Austin last summer and will never go back unless it’s for an occasional visit. I miss my friends but I do not miss the insane traffic, the ridiculous cost of living, the idiotic city leaders, the homeless people everywhere, and I surely don’t miss the endless sea of 25 year-old hipsters, techies, and douchebags. Try finding a roommate if you are over 50. Every ad says “please be under 40 or close to my age (which is probably 25). Peace out ATX

that bat comment was a bit of a stretch. as a resident of ATX of 10 years i’ve never once had an is issue with them. I realize you’re here for views but please be a bit less dramatic. They don’t effect anything and mind their own business.

Yep the only mountains in Texas are 7 hours drive away from Austin and they’re not even that pretty. Probably the worst thing about Texas.
    Bats eh whatever
Yeah it’s blue haired SJW central

Wow thanks for all the support so far on this video guys!

Just a quick side note: I made this video because I wanted to inform people about the cons for living in this city. I am NOT trying to convince people to stop moving here. Overall this city is amazing if you ask me, and the pros far outweigh the cons.

Just to add a little contrast to this video, I’ve decided to list 6 reasons why you should move to Austin:

1: Very dog friendly and animal friendly in general (check out Austin pets alive!)
2: Bike Trail on the lake just south of Downtown – amazing 10 mile outdoor trail loop
3: Great music scene: ACL, SXSW, Blues on the Green, and tons of music venues around downtown
    4: Football – UT Longhorns
5: Water Activities: although we don’t have an ocean, we do have Town Lake and Lake Austin for boating and water sports
6: Greenbelt: amazing hiking trail that is great for dogs and is a fun swim at a certain time of year

If you guys have any other pros to living in Austin feel free to drop them down below!

1:50 “It won’t get cold enough for it to snow or anything. It will be mainly in the 60s or 70s. (Pop up: Most of the time.)”
Actually Austin is in cold hardiness zone 8b with lows that can get down to 15-20F. I see this was unloaded before the Texas “Snowpocalypse” that dumped ice/snow and temperatures down to 0°F in February 2021. We get winter lows in the 20s every year and snow/ice every few years. Where are you actually from? đŸ€”

i lived in austin from 1977 to 2000….by 1990 the negatives were over taking the positives….went from willie nelson driving a 59 chevy pickup down south congress smoking a joint to mike dell driving a bmw convertible down south congress drinking a starbucks something or other….the vibe changed….went from onward thru the fog to keep austin weird….14 of my 23 years in austin my main transport was a bicycle and/or city buses….no way i would ride a bike for commuting to work now….sure i am an old guy (70) remembering the good old days but the reality is austin is now a cool place to visit but not live…

Austin is being taken by the upper class ..

  34. jorge guia on November 20, 2021 at 6:53 am

Still love it tho born and raised in austin but nowdays rent has ridiculusy gone up way too hi… mainly because people out state specially from Cali (sorry no offense) agree to pay or buy overpriced houses so property taxes go up along with rent and after a few years later living here the reliaze the problem..

The median price for a house in Austin jumped up to $530k since this video was released. Houses in Pflugerville, Round Rock, Hutto, and Georgetown are also just as expensive now. 1 bedroom apartments are almost the cost of a 1500sqft one story mortgage payment.

Crazy how the most left wing cities are often the most expensive to live in and have a homeless population issue.
San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Austin, New York

  43. RDGZ Vlogs on November 20, 2021 at 7:00 am

As a fellow austin resident it sucks to see how much the city has changed in the worst way it’s becoming mini California. What these rich people have done is raise property taxes and rent to drive out normal every day people that lived in the city. This is one of the reasons why our homeless population has skyrocketed on top of the fact that our infrastructure just can’t keep up with the huge population growth.

  45. AC BC on November 20, 2021 at 7:01 am

I’ve been living here for the past 19 years and I’ve noticed a huge change :Austin isn’t the same . Austin thinks it’s LA or SF but it’s despicable what the new folks coming here bringing such bad attitude. Embrace Austin vibe and you will grow as a person .

  46. Dawn Harris on November 20, 2021 at 7:02 am

Do you think Austin politics spread as far as georgetown?
