12: Gas-powered appliances
Gas-powered appliances can be very deadly and dangerous without you realizing it. This includes gas-powered water heaters, furnaces, space heaters, and kitchen stoves. The problem comes in the form of carbon monoxide, an odorless gas that is released in defective gas-powered appliances. The worst part of carbon monoxide
11: Extension cords
They seem so simple and incapable of causing problems. An extension cord by itself is a safe household appliance, but the way it is often used – or rather misused – can make it dangerous. In fact, extension cords are one of the leading causes of house fires in the US. Many people don’t realize or tend to ignore the fact that there is a voltage capacity for power sockets, and plug in as many plugs
10: Ionization-type smoke detectors
Smoke detectors may save thousands of lives every year, and households would be a lot safer with them. But they still do carry some risks. Inside an ionization-type smoke detector is a radioactive material called Americium 241. This material ionizes the air surrounding it, and should the air come into contact with smoke, the alarm is triggered. Americium 241 emits alpha particles and low energy gamma rays
9: Refrigerators
That metal box which we use for keeping our food fresh has the potential to behave like a powerful bomb. Its compressor can explode, and you don’t want to be around the house when that happens. Compressors in refrigerators used to use chlorofluorocarbon (CFC), but these days they’ve been switched to hydrofluorocarbon (HFC), a gas that is more flammable. In case of any leakage, the compressor could easily catch fire and blow up. An old danger that refrigerators used to pose was the horrifying
8: Kitchen stoves and ovens
The dangers of kitchen stoves and ovens are obvious. Because of the nature of their use, they could easily cause burns and fires. In fact, most home fires are caused by these types of cooking appliances. According to the National Fire Protection Association, US fire departments respond to an average of 160,000 home fires every year that involve cook tops, stoves or ovens. Although some model units
7: Dishwashers
Dishwashers are full of hidden dangers, especially for little children. There’s scalding water running inside the machine, not to mention many sharp utensils and moving components that little hands may want to grab. For this reason, little kids should never be left unattended when a dishwasher is running
6: Microwave Ovens
Microwaves emit radiation of the non-ionizing type, so they don’t exactly pose the same risks as x-rays or other types of ionizing radiation. They can, however, heat our body tissues the same way they heat food. The thermal effects of microwaves can cause varying effects including skin burns, cataracts, testicular degeneration, and low sperm count. There are reports of people experiencing serious
5: Irons
Children could easily be burned by a hot iron, and one study showed that about 74 percent of such burn cases surprisingly occurred among young children who were under adult supervision. It is usually the hands that are hurt because children touch the irons. Also, their reflexes are not as well developed as adults, making them touch
4: Toasters
An estimated 700 people around the world are killed by these little machines each year, either by fires or electrocutions. Although all toasters are now manufactured with a built-in anti-jam and auto shut-off mechanism, they tend to fail after years of use and food buildup. Exposed electrical currents inside toasters can also cause fatal electrical shocks. It is wise not to stick metal forks or any other conductive cutlery into a toaster to remove jammed toast
3: Space heaters
It is estimated that space heaters cause at least 21,000 home fires in the US annually. Other dangers related to space heaters include electric shock, burns, gas leaks, and carbon monoxide poisoning. It is estimated that 95 percent of all carbon monoxide poisoning
2: Lightings
Household lighting could cause many accidents in a number of ways. Faulty sockets, poorly installed wires, loose fitting and faulty light bulbs can all cause electrical fires. Light shades that come into contact with light bulbs should also be watched. A knock could cause the two to collide, and the heat could start a fire. Also, fluorescent
1: Pressure Cookers
Pressure cookers are extremely convenient. They help us cook faster than conventional boiling methods, while saving more energy. However, the high internal pressure created inside the closed cooker could result in explosions. For this reason, pressure cookers are normally built with safety valves that ease the pressure
Lots of mistakes…
Don’t put nonserrated knives in diswasher!
This is my favorite voice for the narration! When I hear this voice, I think ‘They will kill you…!’ 😀
Im officially scared of everything
I’m just going to live in a box now…
Note to self dont buy anything electrical or run by gas.
He should do a video on Narcissistic people. They can kill your reality.👍😉
When they showed that extension cord, I thought he was going to warn us about using them to beat our kids, that some kids die. Yeah, that baby boomer generation of parents were truly savage.
Most of this falls under too stupid to live. I kinda feel like we can afford to let a few go 😹
Okay
I’m moving to a cave
Bro love the channel. But come on now we’re watching toasters?
My toaster actually caught fire 3 weeks ago, but that was my fault though (I tried to fix it)
Dryers and hot water heaters, have seen dryer lint cause house to explode and faulty pressure valve on heater cause explosions
Smoke detectors can really kill when a “too-smart-for-his-own-good” Boy Scout decides to get his Atomic Energy badge by dismantling a few hundred smoke detectors to build a nuclear reactor in Mom’s gardening shed. The maker even gave him instructions on where to find it and how to extract it. It took YEARS to clean up the mess, he had irradiated the whole freaking neighbourhood! So, can you do a video on When BOY SCOUTS go wrong? I’m sure there must be some terrifying stories of kids getting maimed or killed in pursuit of a badge.
Just to reiterate for those who weren’t paying attention… Please, do not leave a burning stove unattended. You’d figure this would be common sense, yet for some reason, thousands of people continue to ruin their lives like this every year. Knock it off.
It’s not so much the extension cords/how many things you have plugged in as it is how many are being used at one time. Just don’t overload the circuit.
Ain’t nobody said nothing about water heaters having too much pressure and blowing up knocking house off their Foundation
Wife or girl friend may kill you … She hit me with a wine bottle … I was lucky and drunk at that time …
4:11 that’s pretty horrifying.
i think stupidity kills more people.
So the lesson here is to avoid the kitchen.
Shite !
Dangerous things =Life life is dangerous
The Time Machine from Napoleon Dynamite should have been on this list
1:40 its not ‘voltage capacity’ its actually ‘current capacity’
Just when you thought you the streets are a dangerous place, you come to find out you live in a death trap 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Never give your wife a toaster as a gift if you don’t want to end up in the river.😂
#1: The Murderous Toaster
I died when you said that a woman use the toaster to kill her husband🤣🤣🤣🤣
I never dreamed a toaster could be used as a murder weapon, lol. In that regard I guess anything made of metal or any hard material and weighing more than a few ounces is a potential killer!
This is stupid
When I was a baby, I got my arm burnt from an iron. I believe it fell over and I placed my arm near it. The two parallel lines are still visible.
Seriously kill you? As opposed to not seriously kill you?
The entire god damn house
what a total crock of shit
bitch i live in mexico i am IMMUNE
Because a new electrical current could run through the fork and into you, making you toasted….. Dad is that you?
While watching this I got an ad for household appliances. First thing in the video: a gas stove.
🤣🤣🤣
I touched a hot iron when I was a kid, had blisters on all of my fingers on my right hand. It was my fault tho, I was old enough to know not to touch it.lol
I didnt go to the hospital tho, my gma popped the blisters and keep them clean and dry until they healed.
Gotta ban those attack toasters, am I right?
Blocking this channel for good! sick of the scare at 20 second mark. Sick of it making me jump. SO BLODDY ANNOYING! Dislike more than any other channel on YouTube.
“Very deadly’ is that like “ very fatal’ 😂
We had a family of 7 (1 adult and 6 kids) die from carbon monoxide poisoning 2 years ago. 4 of the kids went to school with my kids. It was and still is so sad. The county handed out free carbon monoxide detectors to everyone in school.
My 2nd stepdad blew up a pressure cooker.
My brother try to taken off our smoke detector due to it being falling off the the ceiling he grab it and got shocked very badly now we don’t have one anymore
U forgot water heaters
I just took a smoke detector apart to remove the americium, the I discovered this video
RIP me
So basically, go to your electrical box, look for the OFF switch, and kill all power in your house. Only then you’ll be safe 👍, unless you have a gas stove etc. Then you’re fuked
*looks at extension cord with lots of things plugged in*
Ah shit
A guy burned his privates in a microwave? I hope he won the Darwin Award.
