Hi louis , do you know in Brazil is a company that have the name IPHONE registered since 2000 so apple can use it . This is a good example that how it should be

  11. ecalzo on August 20, 2020 at 9:17 pm

you’re the new Richard Stallman Luois.. you’re absolutely right.. we cannot even use "NON" Apple mouses on a Apple machine.. the mouse will work erratically will do strange things .. the reply from apple Genius Bar it is "yes man you should definitely buy a magic (90$) mouse to work with your Mac" are you mad??? a mouse a simple mouse won’t work because the machine doesn’t like it? what the heck .. where we are all going to end? this is complete madness.. guy wake you up .. this is not good ..

  12. TheChrisED on August 20, 2020 at 9:18 pm

Apple loves to praise themselves by saying how eco friendly their products are in manufacturing, which is all well and good. But when they actively try to replace instead of repair, that nullifies any thoughts of eco friendliness. Manufacturing a new device has a way bigger carbon footprint than basically any repair. Because of this practice, they shouldn’t be allowed to call themselves eco friendly.

  13. Jørn Birkeland on August 20, 2020 at 9:20 pm

The world is run by ruining people’s most of them economic interests.

  14. Paul Argueta on August 20, 2020 at 9:20 pm

Apple made a slew of announcements today including a new credit card, a new streaming service, a new arcade service, new ipads, imacs etc. Did Oprah being there help or hurt it’s event?

  15. Luke Miles on August 20, 2020 at 9:21 pm

If I bought something it’s mine not theirs! They will have to get over this. And I should be able and allowed to repair any device however I want, BECAUSE IT’S MINE!

The government will never change this unless mass amounts of people force it, all politicians are paid off one way or the other.

Politicians are self serving first then they serve their paymasters, they do nothing but go against the very people who blindly vote for them.

  18. Jim Linkowskl on August 20, 2020 at 9:25 pm

Kinda sorta like a consumer reports on refurbished parts and devices, like a good or bad or grading system from 1 to 10 10 being the worst, with maybe customer reviews on finished devices.

    What is the update?

  21. Aaron Hare on August 20, 2020 at 9:31 pm

    Geekgod41 pretty much nailed it.

The problem people don’t really see is that the courts and governments ALL manipulate the English language to get their way. THAT’S how Apple is getting away with this. They are simple piggy backing on an already existing government ploy. This is why the governments are cooperating so easily.

You can sue Apple all you want, but it will go nowhere BECAUSE of language manipulation. Apple is nothing more than a symptom of a larger problem. A symptom that’s hard to ignore. And just like the medical fields, no one will ever cure the root problem. They ALWAYS treat the symptom, never cure the cause. Treating makes them money, curing costs them money.

The root problem is corruption in EVERY FIELD!

  22. Derrick Desrochers on August 20, 2020 at 9:32 pm

It wont happend anyway. They need customers consent. If you had choices to buy it , you have choice where to get it fix.

  23. Eric Nguyen on August 20, 2020 at 9:33 pm

What, does Apple want to say, "If you’re fixing a product that still has our logo on it, it’s counterfeiting. We’re gonna sue you."
How utterly degrading on Apple’s part. How many years has Apple been ripping off their consumers.

  24. Elli Gibson on August 20, 2020 at 9:37 pm

Thats like saying retreading commercial vehicle tires is counterfeiting. LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME THING.

  25. Abdullah Bader. on August 20, 2020 at 9:37 pm

If Samsung put fixed iPhones in galaxy Ss boxes just CUZ everyone knows that these are iPhones dont make them legal ( “it is the same” imagine if there is another company getting bigger CUZ of your screen engineering – but cuz it is benefiting you and other customers so it is not important to you that apple harms from it ( any product that has an apple logo should be sold in Apple Store— this is Basic Right For Apple To Ask For)

  26. joseph bodden on August 20, 2020 at 9:38 pm

  28. David O on August 20, 2020 at 9:40 pm

Now it’s everybody except Lenovo and Motorola vs repair. Samsung is making repair harder and harder and it depresses me

    T2 chip sucks

  32. Fusionx916 on August 20, 2020 at 9:45 pm

I agree this is horse shit. This is actually similar to BMW, even the really old ones. I had a cluster go out in a 2001 330Ci, and it required, not only a FACTORY SEALED BRAND NEW cluster to be installed. No, thats not enough, it had to be INSTALLED AND PROGRAMMED by a BMW DEALER to work with some kind of chip that only BMW CORPORATE provided or else it wouldn’t work at all. If your cluster went out, it would be literally impossible to repair yourself even if you bought a factory cluster brand new directly from BMW themselves. You HAVE to get it programmed by an authorized BMW dealer.

  33. talos86 on August 20, 2020 at 9:46 pm

Ill doubt, that Apple will win in Norway. The EU want to get rid the planned obsolescence "effect" from the electronic market. They want to make sure, that the owner is able to repair his/her device at home(get back the changeable batteries in example). Its in the progress, but unfortunetly its progressing slow(currently the main focus is on to get rid the diesel/benzin powered vehicles).

  34. Havez Muhammad on August 20, 2020 at 9:46 pm

is Samsung, HTC doing same thing too ?

  36. okbridges on August 20, 2020 at 9:48 pm

In my experience the best tool to repair an Apple product is a 10-pound hammer.

  37. merman93 on August 20, 2020 at 9:49 pm

Thanks for this video. This continues to be an important issue. I would assume it is possible to get a refurbished part that is better than the original, as is possible with automotive parts. They engineer a device and parts to be within a tolerance, and price range, and then select which manufacturer to use. Sometimes two devices with same retail packaging and device Id can have different parts used. The consumer has no way to confirm which one they are purchasing new . At least with a refurbisher, a customer has an option,.

Hey Louis! I tinkered with the auto generated captions. Hope that helps, because they kept saying things like "one the case"
Thanks for posting what you do!

  39. ChrisPfly on August 20, 2020 at 9:51 pm

Louis what can I do to help, I love the fact that you are going to Norway to see what happens with this. Is there something, That us here in the USA can do to help?

I dont know how Apple is still a thing.

  42. numberyellow on August 20, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Yeah, i think this is fucked. The ONLY modern Apple device i own is a gen-2 iPad.. Never owned an iPhone, never wanted to….never owned one of their shitty notebooks, never wanted to.. Never been a fan of the Apple ecosystem….i think they have entirely too much control. That control is why NSFW content was outright banned from tumblr….and before anyone says anything, the only thing tumblr was ever good for, was adult content…and now that that’s gone, all that’s left is a withered husk, populated with weirdos, lunatics, SJW’s, the PC brigade, and 144k flavors of fucked up, imaginary genders.. Apple absolutely killed that website. When you can tank an entire website, that’s a sign you have too much power.

I’ve never owned an ipod, and never wanted to…I remember when Apple was actually cool, when they actually built good stuff. Before they became trendy, and wrapped up in their own cult of personality…before they put form before function. I’m old school….from back in the days of the Apple II series…Now those were good machines. That was back when Apple actually innovated, back when they actually knew how to engineer some shit….when they made a quality product.

Now, all they have is very pretty, very cheaply made, very poorly designed/engineered, very disposable, very expensive crap…Apple died a long time ago….long before Steve Jobs drew his last breath.. People, please stop supporting this zombie of a company…let it rest in peace…

  43. Kevin Morgan on August 20, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Well I for one love Apple, if Apple was a car company it would be in the BMW class, not everybody can afford a BMW and not everybody can afford an apple, simple go by a Dell or a Ford and stop moaning.

  44. Wesley Mays on August 20, 2020 at 9:56 pm

Apple thinks refurbishing is counterfeiting. I guess that’s why they never repair or refurbish anything.
(Reason for edit: misspelled "thinks" as "things")

if you had a programmer u can rewrite that EID code.

  46. Angel Bencebi on August 20, 2020 at 9:57 pm

You definitely are informed, my young friend. Thank you for the content, very interesting. You certainly gave me a heads up regarding Apples shoddy practices. Wish you all the success!!!

  47. GhostMods13 on August 20, 2020 at 9:58 pm

So basically there controlling the narrative when it comes to actually fixing the device. Their trying to make it illegal to actually fix the device. That’s dam near communism. Just like t2 chips , you can’t really reprogram the device. So it’s like you would have to rebuy the product. That’s against laws, it’s like their trying to remove people incentive of fixing devices.

  48. Krystal Vieira on August 20, 2020 at 9:59 pm

This kind of crap is exactly why I have never and will NEVER buy Apple Crapple ANYTHING!!!

  49. LesbianWomanOver40s on August 20, 2020 at 9:59 pm

That’s like saying if your refrigerator brakes repairmen can’t fix it. They have to call the actual company. Or your old car that is no longer available on the market an it needs to be fix bought parts from AutoZone but if you do it’s illegal or your car won’t start but the company no longer sells it so they want you to upgrade not everyone is wealthy.
Or your TV when the LCD screen doesn’t work an your TV won’t turn on because you did it yourself. That is just down right shaddy. Or you fix you breathing machine for COPD but it stops working because you fixed it on your own. All of this is just plan ass greed.

If it gets out of hand all repair businesses will no longer exists an everything would become illegal which is just corruption in a nutshell. I can’t imagine not being able to fix your own PS4 or PS3 or any game systems or phone home appliances car medical devices everything really.
This would be one of the biggest Monopolized electronic scam for tech history of this went through ever company would say if Apple can do it we can too rip off people. Than people would end up saying we should have did more but they could have but didn’t.
Imagine school tech not being able to be fixed unless they payed the actual company they would charge hundreds of thousands just that alone an not a repair company outside to save schools cost.
Enjoy your channel Thanks. New subscriber here woot woot. Happy New year’s

It amazes me that people are willing to turn over thousands of dollars for a product which, in effect, you don’t even own, but only lease. That’s really what it amounts to. That’s Apple’s goal. That’s clearly their business model. They want to maintain effective ownership of the products even after the consumer purchases it. That’s why I call Apple fan boys I-diots.
