So basically the study showed that it all depends on the person not the game. If you are predesposed to get angry of frastuated easily, it would be better to stay away from video games because the game itself will not cause you to get aggressive but it works as a trigger. At least this is what i understood from that video. Correct me if i am wrong please…

  5. Rose Brigade on July 14, 2020 at 8:05 pm

    Long research short;
Violent games don’t cause aggression, naturally aggressive people do.
People who have issues already or get frustrated easy, or just plain suck at the game they’re playing, pretty much are the only ones who will show "aggression".

I do hate when people say games cause aggression in people.. The only way you’ll get a more aggressive nature when playing games is if you subject yourself to toxic people in online games more than you should.. I’ve seen some good people go bad playing Overwatch, but it’s not the game that did it, it’s the terribly toxic community.

I got tired of playing Call of Duty because it is like one man shooting hundreds of people, and that’s not how it works. Also kinda got tired of shooting people, which is why Halo and Quake are more fun.

You have to have a strong self control when you play a violent video game. Sometimes they can change you if you don’t have a strong sense of will

There are researches that shows anything you are paying for. Gaming corporations can offer it easily and I don’t have reasons to think about them as a fair player.

But then, they are desensitized because virtually its seen before them. Im sure if someone got smashed into a building with a car in real life, it would be traumatizing vs GTA some dude running over a pedestrian cuz its a video game.

I find it that I definitely enjoy myself during non-competitive games, whether they are violent or not. It is based off of the competitive games and people getting mad at each other and wanting to hurt one another when they die or get beaten by someone that got lucky or is better than them that causes the violence, not the game itself. I’ve had multiple people threat me after I beat them in a nonviolent game

violent games can be good for you. if your really angry, games can calm you when playing violent games. like others are going to the gym or boxing a sack. or go drinking in a bar and start a bar fight. i think getting out your anger in a video game is much better than going out and doing something in the real world.

  28. Grainy on July 14, 2020 at 8:31 pm

video games doesn’t anger me. me watching someone play videogames and miss important things triggers me

When explaining shooter games to my mother-in-law, my brother and I compared them to tag. Laser tag, yes, but even just "normal" tag without the guns. At least in our experience, "killing" somebody in a competitive shooter game is often more like "Tag, you’re it!"

I feel just as aggressive playing a competitive video game (shooter or otherwise, violent or not) as I did when playing sports as a kid. Heck, if anything I’m less aggressive because I’m not physically engaging with my opponents. Frustrated, sometimes. Aggressive, maybe. Violent, never.

But don’t get the wrong picture. I honestly have a lot of positive interactions in competitive games as well, and I remember those loads more than the negative ones. It’s pretty awesome when people can still be really friendly and genuine to each other after an intense match, even if it was a complete stomp and you’d expect hard feelings.

P.S, try giving a compliment to the opposing team when you lose. It’s surprising how humanizing it is and how quickly you feel less sour over the loss, especially since the "enemy" often responds positively, leading to a positive interaction.

want me to be honest? video games ruin your life

Finally an honest & nuanced answer! I’m so fed up w/ people constantly preaching one side or the other of the debate in black-and-white terms soley because they think they’re right.

Videogames dont cause violence is actually bad parenting, bullying, abuse and mental health problems stop blaming the videogames
Quick thing video games make me smarter even if there violence

  46. Fake PewDiePie on July 14, 2020 at 8:51 pm

I haven’t seen any studies that video games make people more likely to commit acts of violence and aggression. But people have to realize something.

Even if there WERE studies that show that, that’s not because video games make people violent. It’s because VIOLENT PEOPLE ARE MORE LIKELY TO BE INTERESTED IN VIOLENT GAMES.

If a murderer plays lots of violent games, the video games didn’t make him murder someone, he was ALREADY violent and that led him to play the video games.

  47. Tahmid Kabir on July 14, 2020 at 8:53 pm

Video games don’t cause violence streamsnipers do
