Australian Retailer wants $1,597 For this PC….. (What's inside will shock you)

So I was out enjoying the weekend and stumbled into a bricks and mortar store, and I was just having a look and seeing if there was anything interesting about. Though suddenly a couple of guys called me over and told me to take a look at how bad these PCs were that were on sale, and when I went over to take a look I was indeed shocked at what was on ‘sale’…

Get a Budget gaming PC for under $500 Aussie, brand new here (use coupon code POST10):

They’ve been doing this sorta thing for years, they scammed me like that with my first pc before i really got into looking into tech. A $1200 PC with an i3 and a gt210

  7. Alberturkey on October 1, 2020 at 11:05 pm

Hey guys, if you were going to build your own PC, where would you go to purchase parts that you know are reliable, and preferably covered under warranty in Australia? Thanks

  8. cxllapsed on October 1, 2020 at 11:06 pm

is this some cash converters shit?

ive seen some pretty overpriced stuff there before :/

  9. Shift J4CK on October 1, 2020 at 11:07 pm

Lmao, us aussies will always recognise this tag 😂

But for real, these PCs are expensive and a rip off but if I’m being honest, their other gear is great and cheap, I buy a lot from them. I’m also on a $2500AUD budget for a PC and monitor, any recommendations?

Hey Brian what do you think about this deal…
    GTX 750 Ti 2GB
    AMD Phenom ii x4 925 OC 3.27GHz
    8GB DDR3(1066MHz)
    Medion MS-7646
    Wraith Prism RGB Cooler
CoolerMaster HAF High Tower Very Beautiful Chasis
    And a 400W PSU
Plus 1 Red Light Fan on top
    FOR 300€

    I also have a
    R9 280x 3GB
    Xeon x5460 OC 3.3GHz
    8GB DDR2 800MHz
    ASUS P5K MOBO
Custom Cooler with straps on it….
And the Chasis isn’t the best….
    500W PSU
Also 1 additional fan for CPU
(The Sounds don’t work on MOBO so I’m trying to get a cheap sound card for PCI-e slot)
Also thinking to sell it for 300€ after i get the sound working.
Here is how the games work on the first PC (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GsMkej_KXo , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFSeoGqcE3I&t=21s)

Hi, have advised some friends earlier in the year about buying a "name" brand pc from a retail store and strongly suggested that I could build one for a much cheaper price with better specs and that’s what they went for. Thanks for video. Cheers.

  33. Ecorigon IV on October 1, 2020 at 11:31 pm

JB hi-fi is an absolute rip off when it comes to desktops lol. The attendant told me that one of their systems would be good for gaming. I asked him what GPU it had and he had no idea cause it wasn’t on the sticker. He looked it up and found out that it had a gt 610 (this was a few years ago now). They wanted 1100 aud for this. I told him what a ripoff that is, and how that it would not play any 2019 titles at playable fps. Those jbhifi people are often totally clueless with anything pcs. I also peeked inside the grill and saw a cheap crappy chinese motherboard and questionable quality PSU. Thankfully built a much better system for half that instead. Department pcs clearly haven’t changed they are still massive rip offs lol.

  34. Syed 1 on October 1, 2020 at 11:32 pm

Simple answer is In Australia every single fucking things overpriced
And Harvey Norman and jb hifi rips people of cause some people in australia doesn’t know much Bout graphics card and want everything normal and simple

  35. EyesWideOpen on October 1, 2020 at 11:33 pm

I’d never buy a PC retail. It’s not exactly hard these days to work out how to build a decent PC for like half this price, most parts being bought new.

  36. Jay Time on October 1, 2020 at 11:34 pm

a GTX 730 is worst that onboard graphics a lot times especially depending on how much ram you can allocate to video

  37. Jacky Evans on October 1, 2020 at 11:36 pm

honestly the retail experience is nothing, a bunch of people telling you propoganda based on what they need to clear out of their stockrooms, never do they give you actual advice and in 2020 you basically just get corona virus, amazon is just better and as retail stores (mostly tech stores) realize that and just give up the better, its not the customer’s fault they have employees and bricks or whatever so we shouldn’t pay extra for their liabilities, they are legal scammers that is it

  38. Heinrich Himmler on October 1, 2020 at 11:37 pm

But can it handle the bad Australian internet?

  39. Point3MC on October 1, 2020 at 11:39 pm

    Yep grossly over priced.

  40. Platy on October 1, 2020 at 11:40 pm

I saw a pc from scorptec which costs 100 more than the pc in this video. But it has an rtx 2060 and a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6 Core . So that’s a thing.

  41. Isaak on October 1, 2020 at 11:40 pm

Yeah, JB is always after the people that have minimum knowledge and just want something quick without doing their homework. I’ve been a victim but not anymore

  42. tony oneill on October 1, 2020 at 11:40 pm

Hey man i need a cheap pc for my birthday will you hook me up will pay??

  48. Tone. on October 1, 2020 at 11:49 pm

… and this is why my current gaming rig is a HP 8200 Elite i5-2400 that came with 8GB RAM ($50 from my local auction house), plus a GT 1030, 250GB SSD + 2TB HDD I bought new. For about $250 all-in (including free and legit Windows 10 Pro … thanks, Windows 7 Pro COA!), it’s good enough. I even managed to bin scab a 22" LED LCD monitor from my local e-waste centre to go with it. I’m getting old, so 1080p with medium detail looks clear enough to me lol

  49. Lxrz ッ on October 1, 2020 at 11:50 pm
