Best Camera Phones for Video Recording (2020) | Vlogger's Delight
Review round-up of the best smartphones for shooting video in 2020, which is especially important for any wannabe vloggers or directors who want a portable, affordable camera. While the likes of the Pixel 4 sport great optics for capturing photos, I’ve found that only a handful can film fantastic home movies – and here’s my favourite mobiles out of all I’ve reviewed.
Samsung’s flagship mobiles are a solid choice for video. These cameras capture up to 4K resolution movies at 30 or 60 frames per second. Image stabilisation is impressive, audio quality is just as great and you get the likes of live bokeh if you grab the Galaxy S10 5G or Note 10.
Apple is also one of the best out there for video, its iPhone 11 camera offering a choice of standard or wide angle views. Stabilisation is again very impressive, as is the sound pickup. And if you’re not that loaded, try the OnePlus 7T smartphone. This can again shoot 4K 60FPS footage, on a tighter budget.
I love the Cinema Pro mode on the Xperia 5 and 1 from Sony, which delivers total control for a film-like finish. And Asus’ Zenfone 6 impresses with its flippable camera, perfect for vlogging.

Why is this phone not saving to sd card? Selecting sd card in camera menu is available but does not save the selection. Anybody else have this problem or have a fix for it?

hey boss. this is a great video. not enough people are paying attention to video recording – or sound recording. the sound is absolutely awful on so many phones & its difficult to even find people talking about it – to say nothing of actually giving demos.

I notice frame jumping in the video, starting at 55 seconds. I see that often while watching mobile footage. Does someone know what is causing it? It leaves me confused: Is it overheating, slow storage speed, can’t my computer handle it, can’t Youtube handle it or is it something else? A man needs answers!

My personal favorite for vlogging is the LG G8X with it’s front facing 32mp camera. That one holds up to 10 minutes 4K @30fps which is enough for me. Rear cameras are decent but not a nuke burst. I was looking into the LG V60 but was very disappointed for they flawed at the front sensor big time. Trump: So sad. Sleepy LG.
Then I came across the Realme x2 Pro but they apart from only using a 16mp front sensor are not giving the same results as my G8X and even though they spot a headphone jack (unlike their X50, booh) their upper class phones earn their money with the not extendable memory. Trump: It’s from China. Ha ha.
I liked the Asus Zenfone 6 but learned that it can only do up to 5 minutes in 4K? OK, it’s not a camcorder after all.
