I am hardcore user and work a lot on machine learning . My personal experience for MacBook air was that it was very slow. To work on a large dataset and then plotting heatmaps and other graph stuffs require some serious amount of juice where macbook fails. That’s where i bought asus rog strix with 512 gb ssd and i7 9th gen processor with 4gb 1650 graphics. And it breezes through every stuff. I don’t travel a lot , i just use to sit in my iit hostel and code. For some workshops i need to carry my laotop for about an hour or two but that’s okay. It easily gives me 4.5 plus hours of battery but i use to plugin always. The only issue is portability at its heavy around 2.4 kg.

Ummm, can I ask you how much RAM does android studio need ?
I wouldn’t recommend using a chromebook with linux unless the newer ones have better hardware/software

Swift can be run on GNU-Linux and windows too!
I had good experience using a Surface pro 4 2 in 1 laptop.
