  2. rxibot on May 5, 2020 at 3:47 pm

Well thanks to this review I actually went out and purchased it I’ve been eyeballing it for a while now and I really can’t find a better product out there. so I went through your link and purchased the pro kit Thanks for the review You guys are awesome as usual.

There is more to the decision than just price. I use ifixit guides and watch their teardown videos all the time. They put a ton of effort in to them and they save me money with DIY fixes, so I am willing to spend a few extra bucks buying their tools instead of the cheapest aliexpress offers. Also they bringing the right to fix fight to all the parts of the tech world, including now on respirators and medical devices. Support companies that do the right thing.

  4. PePaPu Zzc on May 5, 2020 at 3:57 pm

On-brand or off-brand doesn’t matter, they’re all made in China. Only difference is on-brand ones are selected and packaged, so you don’t need to do it yourself.

  7. Bilbosere on May 5, 2020 at 4:00 pm

I like how he’s just throwing around the ifixit tools at the speed of light

  8. Frizzle Fry on May 5, 2020 at 4:01 pm

Those cheap torx, the ends crack or sheer off of them total garbage metal whatever it is. Absolutely infuriating when your in the middle of someone elses equipment and snap youre stuck. And they need their laptop in 30 min!

  9. Gerardo Rafael Avila-Webster on May 5, 2020 at 4:01 pm

Neither. Wiha all the way. They use high grade tool steel and not the cheap stuff that wears down after a few uses.

  10. doel89 on May 5, 2020 at 4:01 pm

anything metal is good anything plastic is bad

  11. Emil Stachel on May 5, 2020 at 4:03 pm

Now to the real question tho… Where can i get one of those orange screwdrivers Linus always carries with him?

  12. Stoneheach on May 5, 2020 at 4:03 pm

where did you guys get this huge working mat?

  13. Cory Roberson on May 5, 2020 at 4:06 pm

Isn’t Linus being sponsored by a clothing company a little bit of a conflict of interest.

  14. Steven James on May 5, 2020 at 4:08 pm

  15. Synn on May 5, 2020 at 4:09 pm

i have that orange kit, had it for years, still using it. But that bendy parts new to me, mine just has the bits, extender, and tweezers.

  16. YD Frank on May 5, 2020 at 4:13 pm

  17. HG Cubing on May 5, 2020 at 4:14 pm

  21. Omar1996 on May 5, 2020 at 4:18 pm

I would love to see how long those bits last.

  22. Ryan Lai on May 5, 2020 at 4:19 pm

Why is this video limited to 480p? Like, Covid19 should either impact everything, not just some.

  23. muki _ on May 5, 2020 at 4:19 pm

Hey guys here’s a review on the I fu**** it kit

  24. lookingjust987654321 on May 5, 2020 at 4:20 pm

I have the orange one: bits are not good at all.

  25. Tom Kraemer on May 5, 2020 at 4:20 pm

Making videos like these is what gives people cancer

  26. SuperShad98 on May 5, 2020 at 4:21 pm

The kalaidun 73 in 1 screwdriver set from AliExpress is much better quality, I just received it, I’m surprised on the quality (Also known as JAKEMY kit)

  27. Khang Pham on May 5, 2020 at 4:21 pm

“Ifuxit kit” you were one syllable away from demonetization

  28. squee222 on May 5, 2020 at 4:22 pm

I like that your not afraid to be unbiased with regards to your own sponsors

  29. Sonic Cookie on May 5, 2020 at 4:22 pm

I got one of those JAKEMY screwdriver kits on sale for $5 (different model). 11/10 would recommend.

  30. Fireboltfury on May 5, 2020 at 4:24 pm

Having used many of those China screwdriver kits something I’d wish you’d have touched on is the durability of the bits as most of them are cheap garbage that chip and wear down very easily, especially the small ones. This isn’t a problem I’ve had with iFixit

  31. Matthew Young on May 5, 2020 at 4:24 pm

FFS, people. "I can get it cheaper from China?" ARE WE NOT LEARNING ANYTHING?! Of course you can get it from China! They sell chip shit! You can do that when you don’t have to worry about things like safe working conditions, ethical business practices ("But Matthew, lots of American companies have super-shady business practices" not by China’s standards) or, quite frankly Quality Control standards if you’re buying something is designed and produced by a Chinese company as opposed to something designed elsewhere and then fabrication is outsourced.

  32. Helaman Gile on May 5, 2020 at 4:25 pm

    China’s tools win

  33. eduardoig17 on May 5, 2020 at 4:26 pm

And thats how Linus lost his iFixit sponsors from now on

  34. no one on May 5, 2020 at 4:26 pm

  35. Revan 501st on May 5, 2020 at 4:26 pm

what ever happen to good old using dads tools

  36. Lycan Lycans on May 5, 2020 at 4:27 pm

Let people choose what they buy ! Is it really cheap quality then they will buy twice ! As far I know all the bits and materials made in Asia ! I don’t know you know but your phone – tv etc. Made in Asia too !
    Best regards,

  37. PROMCRDOG on May 5, 2020 at 4:28 pm

    I like Anthony’s face expression

  38. Dreamy on May 5, 2020 at 4:28 pm

The truth is that the iFixit is just another chinese case that they have rebranded. The only thing is that iFixit is generally a great and trustworthy company that knows what they’re doing and don’t overcharge for most products so it’s okay to buy from them

  39. John D on May 5, 2020 at 4:29 pm

Fixit Kit is a straight ripoff for, you can get a kit well over twice the bits for less then 20 works just as good. You also get all the accessories minus the different kinds of tweezers

  40. theMekanik on May 5, 2020 at 4:30 pm

There is no substitute for quality

  41. des pacito on May 5, 2020 at 4:31 pm

  43. Reaver297 on May 5, 2020 at 4:35 pm

I Just Lost It When You Said iFuxit…..LOL

  44. Valentin Radulescu on May 5, 2020 at 4:35 pm

I wonder if someday Linus will find out that you can get all of those tools at basically any electronics store and you can actually look and test what you’re buying instead of going through Aliexpress or Amazon and relying on "real user reviews"

  45. 齐天语 on May 5, 2020 at 4:37 pm

The reason you lost the sponsor isn’t because of the comparison Linus, it is the pun.

  46. Moe Zabian on May 5, 2020 at 4:38 pm

Tweezers? Doesn’t Linus mean zip ties

  47. Arthur Yap on May 5, 2020 at 4:38 pm

Should’ve called it "iFakes it" lol

  48. weedblaster on May 5, 2020 at 4:39 pm

Wait basically everything is for phone repair except the screwdriver and bits? Just give me a screwdriver kit without the phone bullshit for cheaper pls?

  49. Randy Randerson on May 5, 2020 at 4:39 pm

I used the chinese bit kit. the bits are pot metal, which are fine for most things. snapped a bit unscrewing a torx bolt on a pocket knife taking it apart

  50. hambo747 on May 5, 2020 at 4:41 pm

I legit died when I heard ifuxit lmao
