Well thanks to this review I actually went out and purchased it I’ve been eyeballing it for a while now and I really can’t find a better product out there. so I went through your link and purchased the pro kit Thanks for the review You guys are awesome as usual.
There is more to the decision than just price. I use ifixit guides and watch their teardown videos all the time. They put a ton of effort in to them and they save me money with DIY fixes, so I am willing to spend a few extra bucks buying their tools instead of the cheapest aliexpress offers. Also they bringing the right to fix fight to all the parts of the tech world, including now on respirators and medical devices. Support companies that do the right thing.
On-brand or off-brand doesn’t matter, they’re all made in China. Only difference is on-brand ones are selected and packaged, so you don’t need to do it yourself.

Those cheap torx, the ends crack or sheer off of them total garbage metal whatever it is. Absolutely infuriating when your in the middle of someone elses equipment and snap youre stuck. And they need their laptop in 30 min!
Neither. Wiha all the way. They use high grade tool steel and not the cheap stuff that wears down after a few uses.

I got one of those JAKEMY screwdriver kits on sale for $5 (different model). 11/10 would recommend.
Having used many of those China screwdriver kits something I’d wish you’d have touched on is the durability of the bits as most of them are cheap garbage that chip and wear down very easily, especially the small ones. This isn’t a problem I’ve had with iFixit
FFS, people. "I can get it cheaper from China?" ARE WE NOT LEARNING ANYTHING?! Of course you can get it from China! They sell chip shit! You can do that when you don’t have to worry about things like safe working conditions, ethical business practices ("But Matthew, lots of American companies have super-shady business practices" not by China’s standards) or, quite frankly Quality Control standards if you’re buying something is designed and produced by a Chinese company as opposed to something designed elsewhere and then fabrication is outsourced.

The truth is that the iFixit is just another chinese case that they have rebranded. The only thing is that iFixit is generally a great and trustworthy company that knows what they’re doing and don’t overcharge for most products so it’s okay to buy from them
Fixit Kit is a straight ripoff for, you can get a kit well over twice the bits for less then 20 works just as good. You also get all the accessories minus the different kinds of tweezers

I used the chinese bit kit. the bits are pot metal, which are fine for most things. snapped a bit unscrewing a torx bolt on a pocket knife taking it apart
