Dude this will be the longest bridge in North America. That is sick

  3. Faithful Forever on October 13, 2021 at 6:31 pm

Well that may all come to fruition in the future, but for many, many years North Beach was known as the red light district of Corpus Christi and that is part of its history that you fail to mention.

  4. CRONA on October 13, 2021 at 6:35 pm

Bruh all this getting planned out but they can’t even fix pot holes 💀

  5. ll on October 13, 2021 at 6:35 pm

Corpus Christi really needs too fix the crime ! I was on a walk too Ocean Drive back in November & some idiots robbed me at gun point on South Brawner. I can’t even walk freely without worrying about someone going too pull up behind me & demand me too give up my “chain” my cross & anything I have. I was born here but I live in Round Rock Texas. Round Rock police wouldn’t have let those idiots roam still.

What makes this city think that by putting canals into this project will work. People water will level itself out. If a storm or even high tide comes in north beach will still be under water. The canals can’t stop the water. Water will just rise up within the canals. Remember water will level out.

  9. Gilbert Mendez on October 13, 2021 at 6:39 pm

I think all this is stupid and a waste of money and time. But the repukeblicans can not find no other way of wasting money on needless things.

  12. M P on October 13, 2021 at 6:41 pm

Nobody wants to visit a place w shite pothole filled streets and homeless people filling up the city hall lawn and all of downtown.
Not to mention that people currently have homes and businesses where this someday canal appears.
    Way to waste tax dollars.

  13. Jvee on October 13, 2021 at 6:45 pm

How is adding more water going to help with drainage it will never look like this

  14. hector galindo on October 13, 2021 at 6:46 pm

My opinion I think Corpus Christie has the potential for this makeover on north beach Whitch is long overdue.. there’s that saying “build it and they will come 😀✌️”

  15. JD RS on October 13, 2021 at 6:46 pm

Why didn’t the the bridge engineers just design the cable towers to run throughout the whole length of the 5 football fields that new bridge will become???? That would’ve looked even better than the current new design on the bridge, and the old Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge.

  16. Night-Prowler on October 13, 2021 at 6:47 pm

  18. Justin on October 13, 2021 at 6:49 pm

Smh poor Northside is gone for a bridge and this bs

  19. Nathan Gutierrez on October 13, 2021 at 6:50 pm

Yah that canal is gonna take like 50 years to build

  20. Valerie Vee on October 13, 2021 at 6:52 pm

This is a joke! Don’t get excited!!! The city never gets anything done and when they do they end up shutting it down just like the water fountains with lights they shut down in a month after building it.

  21. surfart guitar on October 13, 2021 at 6:55 pm

CC is screwed if this schematic becomes real

  22. Amber Vega on October 13, 2021 at 6:56 pm

  23. bilrogar on October 13, 2021 at 6:56 pm

Boondoggle for the city’s leaders to skim off the top.

"No sir, I dont like it"

  25. Maria Reyes on October 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm

In your dreams you’ll do this. Corpus won’t prosper like this. I’ve been in uss Lexington years ago. Hardly it gets visitors only tourist may get to go on boats as I did with family and enjoyed it so. It be a cold day in hell if done in future the way things are they be no future.

  26. Glow Jana on October 13, 2021 at 7:05 pm

San Antonio, Austin and Houston are awesome and so many things to do. So try to copy their downtown areas. San Francisco’s wharf is beautiful with restaurants, market place, clothing stores and the wharf is just beautiful! We should do something like that!

  27. Joe Taylor on October 13, 2021 at 7:05 pm

Houston Chronicle published yesterday a Margaritaville resort will be opening soon on Lake Conroe.

    Lake. Conroe.

This North Beach beautification project reeks of kickbacks.

  28. She Pirate on October 13, 2021 at 7:06 pm

Is there an update for this ambitious project?

  29. dufus on October 13, 2021 at 7:06 pm

Worked and lived there in the late 60’s and early 70’s. When i wasn’t working on an offshore drilling rig, I stayed at the Old Ebb Tide motel on north beach. lotta memories.

  30. Pursue Happiness on October 13, 2021 at 7:08 pm

Hurricane Hanna, Harvey, Celia, shows clearly why specific areas should not be developed. But many people do make poor financial decisions all the time. This will be one more example. Dubai and Singapore, we can build mistakes too.

  31. Rosie Jimenez on October 13, 2021 at 7:08 pm

Two words… Climate Change. It will always flood. Investing in North beach is an illusion brought about by Con men. City council members are easily payed off. Open your eyes people. The same engineering company (Dragos owners) are the same builders of the collapsed bridge in Florida.

  32. Gorilla UMP on October 13, 2021 at 7:10 pm

I’m from C.C. Corpus should of been a beautiful city since the 60s. .

  33. Tommy2Fast on October 13, 2021 at 7:10 pm

Maybe y’all could just fix the fucking roads, huh? Nah? Didn’t think so. Fuck this city.

  34. Limowm on October 13, 2021 at 7:10 pm

I’ve been hit by two cars on purpose in the last year and been burglarized once.
Abused by the police and local hospital and the VA isn’t helping me with my anxiety or mental health but because I’m stuck here after building a house and the virus..
    I’m f’ed
I built this town, and used to have connections to the mayor and several high offices.
Not anymore, and it doesn’t help my severe anxiety at 63 knowing that I have no one to help me with crime health care or a district attorney who gives a damm.
Thanks for your service.. my butt I was a volunteer in the Vietnam era.. a Corpsmen and worked all my life in Corpus, but have never been made to feel so alone as I am in serious trouble with absolutely nobody to help.
I shouldn’t be treated like this, but I’m sure you’re busy with the virus..
I’m just hoping to get it, and soon because I don’t want to go on living knowing that there’s literally no one I can call for help, or even protect me from the anxiety it’s causing knowing that I don’t even matter.
The first person I met in corpus had gold paint on his face because huffing gold was a better high on the T head to get away from Corpus he said.
So at sixteen I told him that I had lifelong vacations in Florida and Corpus was paradise in comparison.
So after walking to the L head I saw the ambulance loading this kid my same age up after returning to the dock to huff falling in to drown and literally throwing his life away.
I was down here because of the passing of my dad in Chicago, and my brother was the manager of the coliseum.
But most of all because I believed that I had my whole life ahead of me..
I now wish I could have joined my new friend, because he was right.. Corpus Christi is a great place as long as you are connected, or rich?
Other than that.. you’re better off jumping into the bay!

  35. Iced Coffee on October 13, 2021 at 7:11 pm

I wanted to move to Corpus Christi but if this is going to happen I’m gonna be homeless .Price of living will go up

  36. ji wang on October 13, 2021 at 7:12 pm

This would be amazing very modern, but CC leadership will do nothing to support infrastructure, leadership needs to change. Good luck CC. Far behind from other fabulous beach cities like Pensacola, San Diego, Miami and Lauderdale.

  37. Le Roy Garcia on October 13, 2021 at 7:13 pm

Keep on dreaming people, City Council will just line thier pockets while you pay for unfinished dreams, been here for 22 yrs and very little has been done, while other cities thrive.

  38. David berthelot on October 13, 2021 at 7:13 pm

Look, I am all for future development of North Beach, but not at the expense of the hard working citizens of Corpus Christi being conned by another council that wear rose colored glasses and do not own a calculator nor understand math enough to run a few numbers on the real capitol benefits verses money invested.
I am already confused because after every meeting and every new plan the estimated cost gets higher and higher and higher.
Well, being on the council might give them the ability to dream big without concern for the future burden on the citizens but in the real world money is valuable because it is earned by hard work and being over budget means someone does not eat as well as the council.
I will remind the elected representatives that your funds to spend are not yours to waste but invest wisely at the will of the majority of citizens and not for the benefit of few whom line your pockets with whatever…

  39. Alex Garcia on October 13, 2021 at 7:15 pm

There want all this new stuff but they can’t even fix the pot holes in our streets nor fix the pier by cole park

  40. Charissa Moore on October 13, 2021 at 7:15 pm

All these negative comments here LOL wow. I have never been happier making my way back to my hometown sparkling city by the sea. ITS ALREADY GORGEOUS AND there will be much investment here in the future for major improvements. Guaranteed

  47. Evan Proctor on October 13, 2021 at 7:19 pm

Why did you delete my comment about the water Bill’s? The extortion? Everyone is on to you. You’re not slick. One day you’ll get what you deserve for putting all these families through torture.

  48. Lacey Almasri on October 13, 2021 at 7:19 pm

What will happen to Timon Blvd? This was named for my great uncle who was County Judge and State Representative back in the early 1900’s. He was an integral part of the construction of the historical Nueces County Courthouse and the seawall.

  49. Justin White on October 13, 2021 at 7:22 pm

We auction of public parks, reverse off and on ramps which is stupid and causes wrecks, take years to fix roads and let our cityfolk suffer the "benefits" of building the new road. Then the road has pot holes within a year or two. Nobody is excited about Selena cashgrab. State Aquariam is cool though. Cole Park is always iffy. Lots of homeless and nothing done except ship them off to Flour Bluff….

  50. Sam Deleon on October 13, 2021 at 7:26 pm

We need to revive the downtown area by adding more shops, outlets, and better public spaces. Also by adding better housing for the homeless population would be amazing. Let’s make it as gorgeous as Florida or the California coast, Corpus has so much potential but the leaders lack initiative and innovation.
