Named after its founder, Michael Dell, the company is one of the largest technological corporations in the world, employing more than 165,000 people in the U.S. and around the world. Dell traces its origins to 1984, when Michael Dell created Dell Computer Corporation, which at the time did business as PC’s Limited, while a student of the University of Texas at Austin. Dell sells personal computers (PCs), servers, data storage devices, network switches, software, computer peripherals, HDTVs, cameras, printers, MP3 players, and electronics built by other manufacturers.
