Dentist Gives Woman Who Had Teeth Removed Her Smile Back

A woman whose teeth were all pulled is able to smile again after getting a full set of dental implants at the Smile Again Dental clinic in Garland, Texas, on January 22.

In heart-rending video by Dr Kenny Wilstead, his patient Brittany Negler describes how her dental, general and mental health started to decline when her brother died of cancer at 18.

“I went into a dark place, I’m not gonna lie. I started hanging out with the bad kids, I started doing drugs to numb the feeling,” Negler says.

During this time, Negler says she had all her teeth removed, but expresses doubt as to whether this was a necessary procedure. Looking at her dental report in the video, Wilstead says he doesn’t see “anything here about why they would need to pull all your teeth.”

“I can’t eat, I can’t gain weight. I was so close to getting a feeding tube. I don’t leave the house anymore,” Negler says.

After her procedure, a transformed Negler cries tears of joy and embraces Winstead. “At the Smile Again Foundation, we help those the world has forgotten by giving them back their smiles. And most often, their lives,” Winstead told Storyful.

omg I’m so happy for her. I fell into almost a similar situation a couple of years ago. My family was dead broke growing up and I never went to dentist. Resulting in teeth that started cracking and breaking off when I was only 20.. it depresses me so bad. Then I went to a low income dentist to try and fix it and they told me two of my teeth were completely unfixable and ripped them out. Then I couldn’t afford implants so while in college I’m walking around with missing teeth and it shattered me I was so embarrassed . I even had someone tell me one time “you are so pretty it’s too bad about your teeth…” damn. Finally I got on my feet started making some money and went to an actual dentist and she couldn’t believe they ripped those teeth out. There was a tooth that was in an even worse condition (that they didn’t tell me about it and left in my mouth) that she even saved. She went above and beyond to save my teeth and not rip them out. Too bad I already had two ripped out but I’m going to my first implant consultation Thursday morning and I’m excited to have my teeth back!!!! So glad this woman had this moment. He’s an angel.

This is such a wonderful thing to do for another person. Her face changed just like that. Loving your smile is so important to self confidence. I hope this young lady is doing everything she wanted to do before but couldn’t. If you have a dentist that wants to yard out all your teeth, think about other options before you say yes.

To have all them pulled really sucks.

  12. cwhy harris on April 4, 2022 at 8:33 pm

That’s the way it is because having implant put in are far more pocket padding then affixing a tooth no one can afford to go to a dentist anymore it’s ridiculous you have to get a loan or sign your life over. And this is what happens to these people who get these implants there they wither themselves down to nothing because they can’t eat they’re not what they’re marketed to be and they won’t release this Statistics on how these implants affect people in their lives

She’s so beautiful!! I’ve lost all but 6 of my teeth and they aren’t in the best shape. I’m on social security so I can’t afford implants. 😔 I wish I could find a local dentist who would do pro bono… I used to have beautiful teeth. 😭

Hugggggs to you sweetheart! I feel your pain, I cried with you! That evil dentist you went to will reap the karma of what he or she did to you. I’m heading down the same road but I don’t believe those assholes that want to remove a bunch of my teeth I get second third opinions. You can’t put a price on health or happiness! To the dentist who did this for her you are an ANGEL guided by the wonderful creator and heaven. Your rewards will be many!✝️🤍💞💓💕💕💕💕

YOUR MOUTH IS A PART OF YOUR BODY. YOUR TEETH ARE A CRITICAL COMPONENT TO MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH. Dental absolutely needs to be under the umbrella of medical insurance and there needs to be more regulations. I have so many subscribers that have told me horror stories of how dentists have given them false information and they’ve received botched dental work as a result of their ignorance. We should not have to become experts in dentistry to advocate for proper dental treatment and we should not have to take out second mortgages and go into debt to afford it!!!!

This made me cry man. I need help please. I have a very special girl that was domestically abused. Her previous hit her so hard he knocked out her teeth. She’s tried to hide it. But I know it hurts her and it makes me sad. I would do ANYTHING I could to help her bring her smile back! Tell me what I have to do please?

  24. ryan B on April 4, 2022 at 8:46 pm

Holy shit.. She looks amazing. I gotta get dentures soon and seeing how hard of a time she had with them scares the shit out of me. I hope I cant get dentures and keep my job long enough to save up for implants. Its crazy how much a full upper and lower cost. I don’t get how people with bad teeth ever come up with them money. Bad teeth ruin your chance to get a job that pays well.

And this right here shows why our teeth should be covered under medical insurance. The average person lives paycheck to paycheck and some dentists think we all have an extra 5 grand just sitting in our pockets. There was a group of dentists in my area that just got shut down for overcharging and performing things that never needed to be fixed. It’s a cash cow industry so much so you can’t really trust dentists these days.
An infection could kill a person, unable to eat causes weight loss and physical ailments. That sounds like a medical issue to me.

  49. Jan Witkowsky on April 4, 2022 at 9:17 pm

As a toothless person, I am happy for her.

I wish for the same, but it’s friggin expensive.

I lost all my teeth due to an accident, followed by illness in the gums.

    I haven’t done a big smile for… over 10 years.

  50. Giovona Ralphs on April 4, 2022 at 9:17 pm

Gosh I pray one day I’ll be able to do this. I just lost all of my teeth because of my horrible health issues . My self esteem was bad before I lost them & now I’m bearly holding on. I am so ugly & afraid to leave the house. I only leave the house for medical appointments because my son is getting bullied because kids at school saw I had no teeth & now they are making fun of him for it. I’m so broken that my babies have to deal with that. I’ve never used drugs in my life but it don’t matter that I lost my teeth to my autoimmune condition & having paradontal disease ontop of carryings staph in my mouth that made it’s way to my lungs. People only see no teeth & jump to it must mean I’m a drug addict. I’m so devastated & what’s worse is I’ll never be able to afford to get implants when my only income is my SSI & $850 a month doesn’t go far at all. Especially with 3 kids. I’m so ugly
