I do agree with Sachs and Friedburg a bit in this but let’s not get this confused here.. I think CNN has every right to be concerned with the narrative that Joe’s putting out. A majority of his audience is VERY VERY skeptical of the vaccine. So much so, that they are constantly referring to it as the “experimental vaccine.” So taking ivermectin, another experimental treatment, is complete hypocrisy. He’s being a hypocrite by saying he knows nothing about vaccines, but then also saying that “horse dewormer”, is an award winning drug with little to no side effects when compared to the Four Vaccines already out and in wide-scale use; which is a complete fabrication. The fact of the matter is ivermectin is still not approved for large scale covid use, which is why the majority of Americans have only heard about it on Podcasts, rather than their primary care physician or Operation Warpspeed Vaccine initiatives (prolific thanks to fmr. President Trump). I do agree with Sacks that the vaccine has officially been politically charged and politicized, with mostly Trump Supporters in the camp of the anti-vaxxers. I just do not understand why Ivermectin all of a sudden is so trusted and apparently not a part of “The Big Lie” or “MSM” or “The Narrative” or “Big Pharma” when we know it is obviously all those things. People so adamant that this experimental treatment has little to no side effects when compared to the vaccines already out when that is simply not a fact, if not outright false. Another stringent string of misinformation which will boil over to many hundreds of millions of people begging for Ivermectin and not only straining the supply but also becoming THEMSELVES “live test subjects” as they LOVE to say to shame people that took the vaccine.

Chamath, don’t tread on me includes my time in the womb. Put the tongs down as well as the needle and back up slowly away from me. I have the right to life and it starts at conception. A civilized society can only be judged by what we do with the most vulnerable and how we treat life. Ban games but ok murder, eh? Is that your final answer or should I say final solution?

  3. Gavin Coray on October 15, 2021 at 4:45 pm

Great show guys, but Chamath, don’t enjoy the foul mouth. Keep it clean lad!

  5. Clifton Madden on October 15, 2021 at 4:47 pm

WRT media bias on the acceptable drugs to use to treat COVID, don’t discount the influence of the pharma companies trying to protect their vaccines. Also, don’t be surprised if we find out someone making money from ivermectin sales is involved in pumping it as a COVID treatment.

  6. Nelson Macy on October 15, 2021 at 4:48 pm

Chamath is the new Louis XIV! I know that champagne is what they serve for breakfast in Sri Lanka. Oh wait, he is isn’t involved in their agenda. Very sad.

You should model fire insurance on Australia 🇦🇺 they’ve had mass scale fires for a long time some areas more so than California I think so perhaps a decent source of data for a predictive model?

  8. Wealth Building on October 15, 2021 at 4:51 pm

Chamath is a little off about abortion. Pro-lifers are not virtue signaling, in my estimation. They are of a certain faith and believe that the unborn are still living human beings that have individual and private property rights. I agree with them. Aborting babies infringes on their person. I respect conservatives for having this point of view. As for pregnancies of rape victims, I have no answer. Have at it. Debate. I will admit, though, there is a part of me that doesn’t mind leftists killing their own babies.

I’m losing a lot of respect for your ignorance on politics and freedoms. I think the west coast really screwed your heads up. You should stick to investing 100%. Im really disappointed at the disconnect between your understanding with one area, and the total idiocy with knowledge in another area

Why are these super-smart people so incredibly stupid about Covid??? You CANNOT rely on rapid tests! Period! There is an undetected gap in infectiousness sensitivity between rapid tests and PCR. In other words, PCR will pick up an INFECTIOUS LEVEL OF VIRUS WHICH RAPID TESTS WILL MISS!!! The only way to conclude anything about "safety" from rapid tests is to use them every day for about 5-6 days and then go into your event. And who is going to do that or enforce that? Nobody! That’s why if negative is important, use PCR.

  14. Sean Allen on October 15, 2021 at 4:57 pm

Each of you talking heads, except maybe Chamath, were once a fetus. Who was there to stand up for you then? Despite your great minds to argue for you now, you couldn’t voice your cry for the right to live back then.
The point isn’t about denying women of their "choice" it’s about standing up for the voice who can’t stand up for themselves. It’s not at all the same argument for letting people choose whether or not they should get a vaccine.

  15. onamoo06 on October 15, 2021 at 4:58 pm

I was addictive to games when I was young, but now I don’t even play games anymore. I used to be home for months playing video games and won’t go outside.. It was a phase and now I get bored playing any game.

Anyone else feel that David Sacks’ voice doesn’t match his look?

  17. D N on October 15, 2021 at 5:00 pm

The fact that 3 out of 4 of these men in this podcast suggested that it would be good to hand more power to the government and have them lock down video game consumption during the week means you are being LAZY AS A PARENT! Period! How about you take some more time to be in your childrens lives, if you call yourself men, when you are a parent your children are YOUR business, and you should not discount or neglect that responsibility. Thank you David sacks for being the only dissenting voice to this nonsense. The men in this podcast are smart, but they must be lazy parents to have that mindset.

  20. Brian S on October 15, 2021 at 5:05 pm

I’m surprised by the besties’s consensus on the video game ban. I was hoping they would have debated the actual definition of a “video game”. The world run on incentives and we are experiencing “gamification” as a black hole sucking up every aspects of our lives. Wtf is a video game??

That’s just the philosophical take. Let’s be a bit more grounded – I’m still confused by their inability to distinguish between candy crush, call of duty, Minecraft and their potential impacts on the mind of a child.

  22. Ronald Kreager on October 15, 2021 at 5:07 pm

The analogy of vaccine mandates to abortion restrictions is a false equivalency, unless you ignore the rights of the fetus/baby. The conservative view on vaccine mandates is not in conflict with the pro life view, because the pro life view presupposes that the baby in the womb is a human with its own set of rights and protection against the deprivation of life without due process of law. Such competing interests are not at issue with vaccine mandates. That distinction needs to be recognized.

Wow, you guys are intentionally misinforming people. You make a joke about kids going to jail. In fact, the data is held outside the company ( a government data base) and they are building "gaming addiction clinics". It isn’t a joke and it is NOT a good idea.

It’s not logically inconsistent to be against mask bans and against abortion. Argument being The government doesn’t have the right to do something to your body against your will, like a vaccine. Likewise the government doesn’t have the right to kill you, like they do if you’re an unborn baby. Now the argument is it’s a woman’s body too obviously and they should be able to choose as well. But the argument is still sound if you treat the fetus as a baby and not a cluster of cells that has no legal value or rights. Pro life advocates simply say they should have legal protections and rights. This would make killing them illegal. Agree or disagree with it, but it can be logically consistent with “don’t tread on me” it’s just the treading is at the same time a woman or an unborn baby. Someone’s rights get treaded on. But I would point out a woman doesn’t have the right to kill a born baby obviously. So does an unborn baby/fetus/cell/zygote (whatever buzz word one uses for their argument) have value or not? Many say no many say yes. Don’t think there’s a right answer.

  40. Batwing on October 15, 2021 at 5:24 pm

I don’t think pro life is a religious argument. It’s common sense to not kill a person. I do agree the bill is strange, And I don’t like “turning” on your neighbor approach. Abortion is awful. People have been desensitized to what’s going on.

  43. dkchen on October 15, 2021 at 5:26 pm

Prop 65 (Everything is cancerous signs) and another prop I can’t remember (disability access for buildings) are the laws that citizens can sue and collect on behalf of the state. We got sued and paid 100’s of thousands to guy in Oklahoma. Its dumb. I’m pro-life (with exceptions), but that part of the Texas law makes it dumb to the point that I can’t fully support it.

  44. Clifton Madden on October 15, 2021 at 5:28 pm

WRT Texas, the other absurdity is that they value the unborn in absolute terms, but if they have an opportunity to execute someone for committing murder, they will do it in a heartbeat (pun intended).

    Aahhh typical women

  50. Liberty Springs on October 15, 2021 at 5:38 pm

Chamath – I can explain as a woman in TX. It is the babies of Texas we are protecting the rights of. If a murderer is given "right to choose" then you would also need to give other murderers the right to choose to murder without consequence as well. The victim has a drug injected into their beating heart and then body dismembered by the murderer. Why are you defending the murderer? If a woman gets tired of caring for their 2 week old baby and murders them then by Democrat logic that should be the woman’s right to choose to do that as well. Abortion is not doing something to a woman’s body. It is the human inside her uterus being killed. She has no moral right to murder just because her uterus is the current residence of the victim. Nor do you have right to murder your 5 year old just because they are living in YOUR house and rely on you for food etc.
    – I have a masters in engineering from UT Austin and I am tired of Democrats claiming Texas women are somehow stupid and just do what our husbands say. That is offensive to me as an intelligent woman with 3 children. I watched one of my babies dance and twirl at 7 weeks old in my uterus. So adorable. How anyone could defend killing a tiny human is beyond my understanding.
