There is a reason to go into a store. To hold the phones, to find the one that you like in your hand the best.

I just went to Verizon because I recently got out of cricket. So I unlocked my phone and went to the Verizon so I can use my own phone with them and they said my phone is not compatible which is bull because I know that it will work with Verizon they just want me to buy a phone directly from them.

  11. Elizabeth A.A on November 11, 2020 at 1:20 am

He helped pay off my phone bills for FREE and got me a few iPhones on my Verizon account. Exclusively for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint wireless. A friend recommended Stark Brian services! Text him on Whatsapp +1(201)201-1042 starkbrian5@gmailcom or IG @starksolutions4. It was worth it.

I’m an inform buyer and it pisses me off when I see sales reps ripping off people, especially older folks. I have seem them telling lies “you need a new phone because that one is not supported”, “that used phone from your friend is not good”, “I can only transfer your number to a post paid plan”, “you get more benefits with this plan”. Regular d##m sales reps would tell me lies as well, but I don’t buy their crap! Normally experience managers just approach me and get me what I want, because they can see that I know what they are doing to other people. I know pay attention to everything I buy and have saved thousands.

Hey! I just purchased a refurbished Note 9 from Amazon that is for Verizon. What is the next step I need to take in activating my new phone. I’m switching over from a Note 5 to a Note 9. Do I need to go to the store to purchase a sim chip?

  17. Chandler Misener on November 11, 2020 at 1:27 am

You werent a sales rep, you were an order taker.

Take the time to learn about the customer, and base your recommendations for additional product/services on what you discover. Dont ever lie to a customer, ever! However there’s no moral dilemma with pitching more than the bare minimum

I worked for Verizon and ATT. I agree with everything he said EXCEPT the salaries: I was making 45k as an average retail employee in 2014. Top of the top reps made 65k.

When I worked Verizon call center there were 1 or 2 people out of 1,200 that made 100k, but what they didn’t tell you is they worked 80 hours a week. Verizon call center started sales reps at $11 an hour or 22k a year. So you needed to make 60k a year in commission to hit your goal. Can you imagine that level of stress every day? Its not worth it. An older rep in her 50s told me in the late 90s they could make 80k no problem but it’s not like that anymore. These corporations are trying to cut salaries and benefits every quarter year over year.

An average rep can expect to make 45-50k in 2020. But he’s right the tactics they use are despicable

  20. Knock_Knock on November 11, 2020 at 1:28 am

I commend you on your approach. I worked for a Sprint dealer and always followed the same approach and remember the owner saying, "I believe you are the most requested employee I have ever had and I’ve been open a long time." And I just told him, "there’s no science behind it, treat everyone like family". Respect always ran both ways. That’s just good business

  21. Matthew Drew on November 11, 2020 at 1:28 am

This must be in major market stores. Anywhere in rural America ain’t no way in hell anyone is making 90 – 100k.

Sounds like a disgruntled employee who couldn’t actually perform at his job. Most sales professional are not in it to rip people off it’s about building relationships with each customer or client, finding and fixing the needs they have.

We bought two iPhone 8 pluses two years ago with a buy one get one free for 1000, but I noticed that on the bill it’s $100 extra on the bill and that’s more than two grand savings my ass. And accessories they charge you an arm and a leg with payment system like 20% interest with they are monthly payment bullshit.

  31. JamStar_Ent on November 11, 2020 at 1:42 am

You gotta get that ARD and connected, worked 6 yrs and was a solutions manager. Left a few months ago to sell insurance

  32. Doesn't Matter on November 11, 2020 at 1:43 am

The only way to get an upgrade(NOT early upgrade) is to pay in full. If your phone is paid off, an upgrade doesn’t do ANYTHING for you. When you get a new phone, you LOSE your upgrade hahaha. You have to share it with another line on your plan to get value( can upgrade DIFFERENT line, ANYTIME, NO MORE PAYMENTS, KEEP or TRADE IN for $$$).

I worked at a clothing store back in Hawaii and I absolutely loved working there. The people, the atmosphere and the customers were all great. But what I hated the most was how corporate always looked at the bottom line. You could give great customer service but if you never tried to “add on” to the customer transaction corporate seen it as not doing your job. They use to push adding on so much that it was ridiculous!! My philosophy was always giving great customer service and getting the customer what they wanted and not to make them feel pressured into getting something that they didn’t want in the first place. Because if I was in the customers shoes and got “wallet raped” at a store that I was set on just getting certain items I wouldn’t be a return customer. I use to tell all my sells associates that I would rather have 1 repeat customer than 5 new ones. Repeat customers is what makes a business strive in the long run.

He didn’t say anything….nothing! The kitty-cat in the back ground was the best part of the video. He didn’t give us any terms, any secrets, are quote company policies. I wanna hear from the 100k a year guy thier tricks.

  36. cdismufasa on November 11, 2020 at 1:53 am

Bundling is a common tactic any discerning customer can see through. I’ve never had a hard time navigating the final cost of services with Verizon thats why I never end up purchasing services/products with them.

15 year former employee here. While it had been years since I saw employees making more than $65k, this is 100% accurate. Verizon often made sure we knew what we should be saying to customers, they encouraged double speak and subterfuge directly as times, but almost always by looking the other way or pressuring reps to hit their numbers.

I’m a General Manager of a Verizon store. Let me know where I can go so that way I can step down and not be responsible for a entire location and make $100k as a Sales Rep because as a General Manager of a Verizon Store that sells over 200 phones a month I don’t make that much.

Well yeah state tax and if like me have bad credit another 500-600$ lol down but eh I always buy my phone’s straight out from whoever the maker is. It’s high but worth it in the end since it’s mine.

If you have to lie or cheat to sell anything, your market is saturated which shows a lack of innovation by leadership. I remember going to regional conferences at VZW and hearing leadership outright preach to us verbatim that greed was good and we should be getting 5.0 ATR.

If your product is well positioned (meaning of good value and competitive against alternatives) your only job is to get the word out and properly advocate product fit. Outside of that you are playing the devils game, as their is no bottom to the pit of sales sorcery.

  50. Marc De guzman on November 11, 2020 at 2:10 am

you will only spend $50-$80 if your payment record /credit history/credit standing whatever BS you call it is not fcked up, this advise still stands today ( specially now ) since most store reps will tell you not to worry about the freaking upgrade fee since they will be notating or informing corporate or will be taking advantage of some promotion so that it will be waived – NEVER EVER BELIEVE THAT SHT EVER
