I played one of these the other day and REALLY liked it – so tempted to buy one… but before this I really thought I wanted a P bass. I played the Kiloton next to a Player Series P bass, switching back and forth between them, and the P bass kinda sounded wooly in comparison, plus the Kiloton was easier to play – I’m so confused. The Kiloton was very fat for a passive bass. Augh, I just want all the basses. Can I let go of my P bass romance for a Kiloton??? I’m not sure if the Kiloton looks as cool either – yes that’s definitely important.

If that came in white or black and not basswood, I’d have bought one instead of the SB-2.

Hey man, I’m looking to upgrade from my Squire by the end of the year. It’s a PJ bass – I’m looking for something that sounds heavy and can pack a punch … Is this the bass for that?

Great demo!! Great bass!! I have 3 G&Ls (2x L2K fretted and fretless, and an LB100) LOVE EM ALL!!. Did that bass drive your amp to clip much?? Mine have gained so much thud over time and some amps just can’t hang!! Hence I love Mesa Boogie.

Hi Ivan, love the killer groove at the start of your review! Any chance you could do a tutorial or do you have tabs you could point me towards? Many thanks man, keep up the excellent tutorials 😎

Hola Iván. Te pregunto: qué se puede tocar con este bajo? Está bueno para rock, funk….? Cómo lo comparas frente a un p y un j?

Just got my G&L Kiloton Tribute yesterday and I am stunned by quality and sound, very beautiful Instrument! Highly recommemded!
One of the most comfortable necks I have ever played.

Nice review, Ivan, but I’d like to hear finger playing instead of pick or slap.

Can you make a video comparison between Kiloton bass and SB-2 bass?
Since you already reviewed both basses, which of them would you recommend more?
    Thanks! …and great review!

Bonus points that it looks like Excalibur from Wayne’s World.

Nice report, man!!! G&L basses rule!!!

Hey man thanks for a great review. I’m looking for a new bass. Tired of getting disappointed with the fender stuff. Because of this review( you played it with a pick rock style) I’m gonna order myself one of these. Plus I subscribe to your channel.

Really good video man. Good explanation and demonstration.

  18. Alec M on September 23, 2020 at 11:06 pm

Good demo, do you know the weight of the bass please ?

  19. Richard Mccain on September 23, 2020 at 11:07 pm

    Basswood is so lifeless.

    I don’t know why more people aren’t playing G&Ls. They pretty much smoke Fenders, and they’re a Leo company too. I own 3 G&L basses – a 1980 L1000, ASAT, and a L2000 Tribute, and they’re all fantastic.

  22. J K on September 23, 2020 at 11:17 pm

by the way, I’m also considering buying a Mesa D800. Do you like yours?

  23. Alex Michels on September 23, 2020 at 11:17 pm

Ive had mine for about 6 months now, amazing quality for the price. Leaves me with a smile and makes me want to practice. Mine weighed in right at 9 lbs
