Vandila dove into the tiny living world against naysayer’s opinions and hasn’t looked back. The freedom she feels after downsizing and simplifying her home is what she describes as “liberating.” Her adorable house has white quartz throughout, stunning local artwork with several reusable and recyclable items. There’s a kitchen with full-size appliances, excellent storage, and a large window.
Her bedroom has a small closet, a mini-split, and huge windows, allowing more space and open air. Although minimizing her belongings was the goal, she created extra space to fit her book collection and love for shoes. You’ll find a quaint porch that extends her living area and a storehouse unit that acts as a garage for miscellaneous items.

Amen !! I call it keeping up with the Jones. We just gave our 2,000 Sq ft home to our oldest son moved into a 33ft 5th wheel. The things I gave away, sold, donated was a relief. I am happy in our 5th wheel. We made a complete 360, left my home state of West Virginia moved onto my husband’s family property here in Terrell Texas. I still have things in storage that must go. My husband took a job transfer and myself i just left 35 years in Nursing, my career became too much,I worked 70 plus hours per week. The pandemic almost took my soul, trying to keep my residents virus free, all the politics and understaffing in our Nursing home finally made me wake up. I did my very best caring for as many as 34 residents at any one time for 35 years would break anyone. I do love this home, she has everything. For me I like color ( my husband is from Mexico city ) when we travel back to see my in-laws I fall in love with the people, the food, the tiles, the customs of Familia first. This doesn’t look tiny this home is beautiful.

Nice! I am sold! I live in an efficiency apartment now as an empty nester….but I could totally see myself owning my own tiny home. This young woman has a lot of the same interests that I have, the reading and loving real books, (no e-books for me) the puzzles and board games, the gaming, yep I am a grandma who games!!!!! even the decorating style….and on that bar….I would have !Steelers! memorabilia and picks of the Burgh….I also live in Austin TX though.
And I never thought that tiny living could be a thing here….but she has proven me wrong, nothing wrong with saving money, downsizing, realizing you don’t need a gianormous house filled with useless stuff….when it’s just yourself living there.
And with the cost of housing here a tiny home makes sense for one person!

The house is gorge. I like her! I’m happy she was able to test that shower out to ensure it fit 2 comfortably. That’s important.
How much was your tiny home??
I plan on owning a TH one day. I love seeing how people use their space creatively. Direct sunlight will ruin books over a period of time, so she may want to consider having them up there.

I’ve really been considering a tiny lifestyle. One thing that would be hard for me to get rid of are my records. I don’t buy that many anymore but what I do have I appreciate. The entertainment center would easily allow me to store records (with some modifications of the shelves).
