From whats happening now I doubt people will want to go back to work in "the typical office" i think times are changing in society in where and how we work. People have more time for family and friends, less pressured more focused and they generally work better remotely. I would like to produce my art have full control and accepting how to improve then sell it online without a company i work for owning it.

I wish recruiters would ever give a constructive feedback upon rejections. They never do

THANK YOU. All these other Game Designers, whether its no experience, or just general info love to beat around the bush and shove their knowledge in your face. They’re mostly douchebags aiming to discourage or further confuse you. Like NO. This is what tf im going to do, idc how hard, don’t tell me that. I Appreciate THIS!!

Would you say it is possible for an 18 years old boy who likes video games to get a career in this industry? Taking into consideration that I don’t know nothing about programming, designing or anything like that. Maybe it is too late but I would love to get everyone’s opinion on this. Thank you.

Unless you are a marginalised opressed demographic, you’re not getting in the games industry.
Unless you agree with the leftist progressive views the company has, good luck getting your foot in the door.
Most importanly, if you have no connections, good luck getting your foot through the door.

Working as a programmer in a known company is my dream. I’m only 17 and I’m self-learning to program with Unity and Unreal Engine, I’m trying to create 2D Games, 3D games, normal programs or websites to see what it better fits to me.
It will be a long journey though, I hope that it will go well too.

Thanks for this video, it was very inspirational for me!

Great advise. I am looking for an internship in props design.

  20. Daniela on October 18, 2020 at 4:03 pm

Really nice videos. I enjoy watching these a lot. I had an internship as a QA for The Division at Ubisoft for a while and since then I have finished my Graphic Design studies, so I was interested in applying to a studio.
I am unsure though what should my portfolio contain, if I’ve not decided yet which Art department section I wish to specialise in. Should i just put everything together?

  22. Gursahib Singh on October 18, 2020 at 4:05 pm

Can any one from any study background have good knowledge of programming can land job as a game developer

  23. Daisy Concepcion on October 18, 2020 at 4:06 pm

I just enrolled to a university for game art for 3D modeling and animation. I’m pretty good at art and also have a long history playing many video games from big AAA franchises. I’m excited to work in the videogame industry. One big question is I know companies mostly use photoshop but is it necessary? I use procreate and I can import my work as a PSD file to photoshop and the brushes for photoshop works for procreate too. Can procreate be used for work or no?

Is there any jobs in the video game industry that help make the games story? I really like making stories and think im pretty creative and would love something like that in the video game industry.

  28. SunsetSounds on October 18, 2020 at 4:12 pm

3:22 : Great advice, but only if the company in question actually has real people sending rejection emails. I’d say for all AAA and some AA developers, you’ll apply through and be rejected through a noreply email, and they also don’t have any direct email for the recruiter on their website. I get that with a high volume of applications that it isn’t feasible to have it all done manually, but it does make the feedback part of the process much more difficult.
