Your not going to make 1k a day making pallets, wood is expensive and so is fuel, how many pallets could you actually transport at one time? Plus if your in the middle of not much around that’s another factor plus most places already have places to buy pallets from, think about how many pallets you’d have to make to cover fuel, materials and labor to make that 1k, are you going to be able to do that daily? Plus if a warehouse actually has good forklift drivers the pallets last wayyyyyy longer.

This guy has clearly never googled a stock chart. Lol Tesla stock went up 10x and this dude oblivious knocking on stocks. Sp500 gives an average of 10% yearly over the last 40-50 years and that’s historical data. I hope this business is working for the man cause he a bit naive in this world.

I find it hilarious – no one does this? – yes they do we have like 20 people a week trying to snag our pallets and we do not let them go even briken ones we have a nail gun and fix them in house takes seconds. Most big box stores – Target – CVS – Home Depot all return their pallets in house so no – these pallets are not just stocking up they are returned with the empty trucks when a load is dropped off and usually the stores get credit for them so letting you take them is not a good profit for them. Next theory to make $1,000 you need to pick up and sell lets say 250 pallets at $4 per pallet – Never seen people pay that high but you gotta aim high to make those dollars and 99% of the people I have seen will not buy any pallet under 48"x48" also a ton of these pallets are not that large. Another note it is illegal to collect the blue painted pallets and attempt to resell those they are protected like milk crates. And somehow you are selling this as a business class and probably getting rich. Last theory say you have 250 pallets to take to the reseller every day you would need a forklift semi truck and crew to be able to load and transport unless you think making 5 trips in a day to drop off is profitable.
If you have a truck and that much time on your hands I’d save yourself the slivers and start a small company doing something that people pay for. Mow lawns. Dump trips. Recycle metal or cardboard or something. If somehow you actually do find a buyer and a supplier that doesn’t smarten up after a few trips to them be careful and watch out for nails in your tires. Pallet collectors are constantly dropping nails everywhere they go. There trucks leave nails everywhere they go or park and everywhere in between as well. It’ll ruin your truck and if you’re not careful where you get your pallets you’ll end up picking uip a ditched pallet only to find out the hard way that it was reported stolen at some point and when the buyer informs the police you tried to sell them stolen pallets and the police sees you have a truck full of them but don’t own a business or a loading dock for that matter it can be hard to convince the police you didn’t steal them. I’ve heard of guys actually catching charges for pallet theft when they didn’t actually steal them but found them on the side of the road or whatever.

sorry bro not a new idea. i’m 60 I was doing this when i was a teenager fixing broken pallets we use to get 3 to 5 dollars each for them after we fix them we get them for free sometimes we get paid to hall them away .
I invested 1 million into this idea and went bankrupt 🙁
My dad moved to the USA in 1992 from norway, made a bar bet that he could make a living Building, Repairing and Dismantling pallets. He has owned and operated his own Pallet Buisness since then. Quite a successful bet I would say, kept a roof under our heads and food on the table.
The Pallet industry is/ and always will be booming.

I realized that the secret to making a million is making better investment . I always tell myself you don’t need that new Car or that vacation just yet and that mindset helps me make more money invest : ng . For example last year I invested 70k in blue chip stocks and crypt0 s ( with the help of my advisor of course ) and made about 380k , but guess what ? I put it back and traded with her again and now I’m rounding up close to a million . Delayed gratification always pays off

I made good money scrapping metal years ago. Especially around 08′ when tin was $700+ a ton. But the bottom dropped and there hasn’t been money in it. I’m trying this. It’s also a lot cleaner and lighter work. In town not the country. I found the local buyers now I got to go find the skids.

One thing I will say, if you’re going to do this, make certain you clear this with whoever you’re wishing to get pallets from. Big box stores tend to be tight on the pallets as they are reused and/or sent back to distribution, and you can forget about any pallets used for concrete and cinder block, as they get charged for any pallet that isn’t returned to the distributor, which is also why places like Lowe’s or Home Depot charges a "pallet charge" whenever you buy concrete and wish to keep it on the pallet.
I used to do this with grandpa when I was 11-17 we also recycled cardboard

They don’t give them away anymore. Everywhere we ask, they say sorry, we aren’t giving them away. They reuse them.

I have to say I have never heard of this. My family’s business uses a lot of pallets daily both coming in and going out and pallets are scarce. No one is wanting to get rid of their pallets let alone pay someone to get them. People have approached our business to buy the pallets and we do not sell them at all. Maybe in your area this is a thing but that would not be a lucrative business where I’m at. Maybe I’m missing something but pallets are like gold here and everyone is hanging onto them tight.

In Chicago Illinois you need buy the pallets broken pallets list $3 dollars each. To goo fixing. Not easy job you goo sale straight to customer you goo making money $ you goo sale to one is between in you in customer is not good business you don see money traying sale straight to customer
A lot of big box stores won’t let you take them because they send them back.
Also ASK don’t take without their permission. Doing so is stealing and you should be arrested for it.
Also vendor pallets are off limits too. They are labeled and they send them back too.
I own a trucking business only 2 trucks a semi trailer and a van . I have been operating for the last 11 years. Its good but it has its ups and downs,
Well having been in the retail business a while back, the company I worked for had a distribution ctr, and we got delivery three days a week, and we were charged a deposit of 12.50 per pallet. We would have upwards of sixty to a hundred pallets on my dock weary week. Then someone started doing this and stealing our pallets from out dock at night, this went on for a month or more, until I made a police report due to my main office demanding that I do that.
Well guess what at 12.50 a piece it doesn’t take long until it was a grand theft issue. Yep one night I get a call from the police department requesting me to come to my store . They caught the guy with over a hundred pallets of our company in his truck and trailer, I had marked every pallet with the store name and location.
He was arrested and placed on five years probation on top of paying restitution to the company.
So I know things are different now but I would just be careful before just grabbing pallets from any location without permission.
Imagine a LARGE warehouse that only takes 48×40 pallets because that’s how their warehouse is set up. If your selling to said company you NEED 48×40’s. On the receiving end who wants to deal with hundreds of pallets most in good shape some not.
