My U39-NG10 stopped responding to the controller with the gas valve. So now the flame is stuck in ‘low fire’ and adjusting the flame level does nothing. Cant heat up anything

our remote must be defective , as we set at 71 degrees and room heats to 76 without turning off the fireplace . Can’t get the Regency customer service to answer our inquiries . We’ve purchased a 250 pound paperweight since it was installed 12 days ago ……

    We’re is the thermostat?
    Is it in the remote?

Dumbest thermostat system ever! Batteries die with no warning (after about six months.) But here’s the BIG problem: If batteries die while fireplace is on, the fireplace NEVER SHUTS OFF. I have occasionally entered the room to discover it’s over 90 degrees inside! If I had been away overnight the house would have burned down. I now replace the batteries every three months and hope for the best. The old hardwired system was foolproof. Should never have gone with this high-tech remote garbage.

I have a new regency fireplace. Love it so far. My only problem is that the room temperature reading on the remote reads 10 degrees higher than the actual room temperature. I have checked it against other methods. Any advice on how to recalibrate the remote so it reads accurately?
