The Lenovo Yoga S940 is a new addition to Lenovo’s laptop lineup. Aesthetically it’s very appealing and it seems impossibly small considering it’s 14-inch display. Is the Lenovo Yoga S940 good enough to replace my Thinkpad Carbon X1?

Lenovo customer support has failed to get me a refund on my device more than a month after I returned it! What the hell Lenovo. This company is essentially stealing from its customers

I donโt like this laptop and hereโs why: a lot of the folks that purchase this are probably looking for something Apple-like but with MS Windows. While this device appears to fit the bill, itโs not hard to notice itโs low quality construction. If you examine the bottom cover, especially near the edges, youโd find a lack of uniformity and gaps. The material is also too thin and flexes. The bottom cover sits too close to the battery pack and due to its flex, can actually touch the battery whenever pressure is applied (say when you pick up the device using one hand). Another thing is the display: Lenovo really doesnโt put anything decent outside of their fancier lines, and youโd easily notice a huge difference in terms of display quality when comparing this vs Retina Apple devices. At $1,000:$1,000, Apple wins hands down for construction and display quality. Anyone thatโs used a Mac will be able to tell the difference in quality after a few minutes.

I bought it then returned it. CPU is running hot so CPU fans are running ALL THE TIME. Even when surfing the internet. No go.

Lenovo makes good systems. I have a P50 work horse and a Yoga 930. I can develop applications or play games on both. Both systems have high memory. Both keyboards are sexy.
Although I enjoy my Lenovo systems I do want to get a Surface Book.
