Hands-on review of the LG SK8000 UHD TV
The LG SK8000 is a good TV with an IPS panel. It is best suited to a bright room with wide seating. In this review, we compare it to 4 other popular models.

The IPS panel of the SK8000 results in a low native contrast ratio, so blacks appear gray when viewed in the dark. The image remains accurate when viewed at an angle though. Unfortunately, the local dimming in ineffective at improving this dark scene performance. The TV has low input lag, which is great for gamers.
Model tested: 55” (55SK8000PUA)
Should also be valid for the 49” (49SK8000PUA) and 65” (65SK8000PUA).
Note that the 49” model has a 60Hz panel rather than the 120Hz panel found in the other sizes, but we expect the performance to be almost the same.

of course this LG is PLA PLB looks same but is cheaper and yes you guessed it worse.

This tv is completely worthless in a dark room. Black doesn’t exist so dark scenes are a gray mist all over the screen. I returned it to the seller and finally I bought a 55” LgC8 OLED instead.
I also tried the Sony XF9005 and it’s top notch compared to this model which should never been made available for the public.

For a gaming tv the samsung is 800 and the lg is 700, the sony was the best and its 1200 dollars.

I just traded my LG 70UK6570PUB for the LG 65SK8000PUA and the veiwing angle is much worse on the 8000 series… I am pretty disappointed. I dunno if I should go with the 9000 series or just go back to the 6570. The 6570 was much brighter than the 8000 series as well

Really good video with lots of info. But I was astonished with the audio part, I have seen this tv in show room and the Dolby Atmos produced great sound. Is this model with Dolby Atmos?

Im torn between LG SK8000 vs Samsung NU8000. How do i decide whether my watching angle is wide or not wide? I have a 3seater L shaped sofa.. does it mean its wide viewing angle?
I bought this TV in December 2018,
There’s some issue in dripping Wi-Fi connection, and lost pointer magic remote.
August 2019 I claim warranty to LG Service Center Indonesia , and mother board got changed but next week the problem its happened again.
WARNING ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ I purchased this tv for my bedroom and it has horrible blooming/flashlighting issues!! Its so horrible that if your watching hdr/dolby vision etc the picture is so washed out by blooming/flashlighting that it’s almost impossible to watch!! LG should be ashamed to release such a horrible tv! Oh by the way LG warranty will tell you this problem is normal and they won’t exchange or refund money. So your basically screwed if you buy this horrible tv!! DONT BUY THIS TV!!!!!!
An issue with the LG, with such a big display, is the vertical viewing angle, which is lousy. You missed that point. Please include in future reviews: with 55" and over, the vertical viewing angle should be included.
