Li-Fi, 100X Faster Than Wi-Fi! | ColdFusion

Li-Fi looks to be yet another disruptive technology, this time in communication, which has remained with the same wireless technology since the year 2000.
A correction* I was supposed to say South Korea’s world record STANDARD speed of 100mbps

    I really wanna have it!

The Australians did not invent Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi was invented by those who contributed to the IEEE 802.11 standards group. Early participants included employees of companies like NCR (based in the Netherlands) and Symbol (based in the USA), plus chip manufacturers such as Philips. Light communications is a topic being developed by 802.11. It has certain attractive properties, such as being able to localize (secure) the communications. It has issues that need to be resolved, such as if the downlink data path uses visible light, what is the return path? The likely solution is a radio uplink and a visible light downlink. There are a whole bunch of new issues that have to be solved to make this work. They will be solved, but the result will not be any kind of panacea – i.e., it will offer advantages in certain use cases, but not others. Of course, those investing in visible light communications might have a more expansive opinion of its application. Time will tell if they are right.

Great! another device to break my dna and get blasted at the speed of light and slowly give me cancer!! Fuck you!! And all who support you and this evil technology.

Have any scope to speared radiation because of micro weave of high speed light and radio weave through lifi.which may be cause of cancer.

  8. Eugene Pedroche on January 18, 2019 at 7:32 pm

    Amazing faster internet

  9. soloclickads on January 18, 2019 at 7:33 pm

Wow does it do sun light?

  10. mark vietti on January 18, 2019 at 7:33 pm

lol wifi speed is not an issue…

  11. D Stanoev on January 18, 2019 at 7:36 pm

This will never work for internet connection. Wi-Fi is 2-way communication and this is only one way. Unless the can make those bulbs to receive light from the device they’re communicating with and modulate the mains, which is impossible. Also fiber optic cables already use light for the same purpose but lazer, rarely LED.

  12. MotoAtheist on January 18, 2019 at 7:36 pm

LMFAO! Proves the flaw in his concept by the most rudimentary way possible… simply block the signal with a hand! Yeah, pretty much makes LiFi useless… He mentions using remote controls with infrared… yeah, they suck, require being pointed directly at the receiver most of the time. Not a good example either.

    Fake news

  19. Ken Soopen on January 18, 2019 at 7:45 pm

this dont work …invented in the 70s before fiber optics. this cannot be used in areas were obstructions

  20. Mine Inlakech on January 18, 2019 at 7:46 pm

Bring LI-FI to smartphones by creating a protective phone cases with LI-FI sensors, instead expecting the companies to produce smartphones with LI-FI capabilities.

  21. Jack Barnhill on January 18, 2019 at 7:46 pm

    Or uv.

  22. Albera Cid on January 18, 2019 at 7:46 pm

    photons

  23. Jack Barnhill on January 18, 2019 at 7:47 pm

    You could use infraed leds

  24. m will on January 18, 2019 at 7:47 pm

Led lights are inexpensive but for some people pose health risks like trigger migraines or for those with light sensitivity, unless everyone decided to use warm and not the harsh bright white lights! Outdoors it causes horrible light pollution where you can’t see the stars and birds don’t know when to sleep because they think it’s still daylight. Not every technological advancement is good. Cheaper and faster is not always the solution. All these robots doing jobs is taking jobs away from human beings. All the boxes moved by automation and not people reduces jobs. Walmart is everywhere and makes billions but pays minimum wage. This will be America’s undoing. Yes some jobs the most dangerous and tedious need automation. But we need a strong workforce paid a living wage and I’m willing to consume less to pay higher prices so they can have that. I don’t need 20 pairs of shoes in my closet from china but 4 or 5 at a higher price made in America would be worth it.

When this thing will be everywhere in world like WI-FI

  32. Apex Mechanix on January 18, 2019 at 8:00 pm

    So it’s 2018…….where’s that Li-Fi at?

  33. gmaginations on January 18, 2019 at 8:00 pm

does the light have to be on for the signal to work?

  34. Lutz M on January 18, 2019 at 8:02 pm

    So what happened to it

  35. Amit Hasan on January 18, 2019 at 8:02 pm

    What about upload?

  36. Steve Starr on January 18, 2019 at 8:03 pm

This makes me think about how they’re already are using light to send and receive data with fiber optics, also makes me think about coupling this technology with AI and 5 G if it can be done and what the dangers are to people. They’re are definitely pushing the envelope.

  37. Darlene Recapente on January 18, 2019 at 8:06 pm

Is Li-fi infinite? do I need to buy data for it? is it now available in stores? where? where?😲

  38. Bill Moses on January 18, 2019 at 8:06 pm

I see the evil already !!!

  39. crazy exams on January 18, 2019 at 8:08 pm

Where do we stand with this Li-Fi technology at this point?

  45. neha syed on January 18, 2019 at 8:16 pm

I have a dout light means heat if we r using it continuously day n night does it burn the device ????

  46. Gabriel Voinea on January 18, 2019 at 8:17 pm

Yes but this method has a lot of problems too

  47. night3x on January 18, 2019 at 8:18 pm

same as optic cable 😉 Another problem is that when you go into UV spectrum is actually harmful and cancer inducing.

  48. Jason Ortago on January 18, 2019 at 8:19 pm

Is LiFi gonna be released somewhere in the early 2020’s or what?

  49. Husture on January 18, 2019 at 8:19 pm
