    Wow you think dell is the only company that’s backwards? At least any dell computer I bought still works till this day and I’m talking 20+ years down the line. I now own an area 51 alianware desktop GTX 1080 Superior quality over any top brand on the market.

    Delivery within 5 days of order? Yeah Right. I have been a Dell customer for almost 20 years. In that time I have purchased 4 laptops and 3 desk top systems. Every few years when I order from Dell I notice how customer service has gone down the toilet. No longer do we get native English speaking support. I can’t understand the Indian call center agents! My current dell laptop order and an estimated shipping date of 7-8  business days. 2 1/2 weeks later and it still has not been shipped.  Fucking joke and my last ever dell order.

    WARNING    WARNING   WARNING
    Made sure you keep the invoice if you buy something from them.
    They cannot look you up by your name, or address, or phone number or E-mail address.
    They have a really crappy non existant tracking system.
    You need to provide the invoice number or you are out of luck.
    Keep all the paper work that comes with anything you buy.

    I love how they say “shipping a computer in less than 5 days when I ordered my computer in November 2020 but it came the 21st of December

    Looks very messy, and how are you delivering in 5 days if you are using a JIT system? are you connected to your suppliers through an integrated system so that you order only based on customer order? How are the components delivered to dell? or are you centralized meaning you order within the same region from the local suppliers to deliver to local customers? not clear.

    WARNING WARNING WARNING
    Dell Computers.
    If you don’t have a purchase invoice number for an accessory device you buy from them you are out of luck. Example: An external USB DVD player.
    I have spent 6 days trying to get a problem sorted out and the reps in the Philippines and India are like robots always asking for an invoice number even though I have told them over and over I threw away the invoice sheet 6 months ago.

    Dell computers cannot look up a customer by their name / address / phone number / E-Mail address. !!!
    What kind of ancient data base are they using?
    There were good data base programs made years ago in the good old days of D.O.S.

    The problem was that Windows would not recognize the DVD player.
    I used the online diagnostics at the Dell website. That did not work. So I phoned for help and the guy had no clue as to what the solution might be. Hours of frustration went by.
    Finally I remembered a free program recommended by PC World magazine called Driver Booster ver 2.2
    I D/L that program and ran it. It found 11 drivers out of date in the laptop. After downloading them one by one and going through 4 restarts – the DVD player works great now.
    No thanks to Dell.
    Try to get a real person at Dell not their support offshore people is impossible.
    Try to get Michael Dell’s e-mail address or phone number !!!
    Be warned they make reasonable computers but the customer service after the fact is lacking in technical know-how and they were at times very rude to me.
    The phone number for the rep he gave me did not work. I got a receptionist who was no help at all and she refused to transfer my call.
    They forget the customer is the reason they have a job.

    BE WARNED –- IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER THE SALE.

    I work in one of this factory in 2008 in Malaysia. Top assembler can assy 30 desktops in 1 hour. Sorry my bad english.

    I used to work at the old factory in Austin back in the 90s, then moved over to the new one. Seems like a whole lifetime ago!
