Our space themed Fry’s Electronics store has too much space!

A nearly empty and desolate Fry’s in Houston (near NASA) – a really beautiful Space Station themed building.
Very sad. We want the astronaut hanging from the ceiling if they go out of business!

(Disclaimer: Fry’s denies they are going out of business)

Interesting to see the Russian Soyuz capsule along with the NASA one.

I’ve been in that Fry’s several times while doing work in Galveston. It is sad to see but not really all that surprising considering the number of people who just order what they want from Amazon with a few taps on their phone.

I just found out that every Fry’s had a different theme. My local Fry’s in Burbank CA was monster movie and alien themed. I always loved going there as a kid I’m gonna miss it

Even Circuit City had more stuff on their shelves before they went belly up. But this…. this is just sad. A slow, painful death for a store. Hope the employees are able to find jobs elsewhere before they go down with the ship.

When they first opened, they played a history of space flight video that included the Challenger explosion. They showed it over and over again. I worked at NASA at that time and I did not like that video. They removed it when I complained. I hope I wasn’t the only one.
I visited a couple of times in recent years and the emptiness was difficult to bare. My first thought was that the internet was killing them but then I had to go to MicroCenter for something. That store is fully stocked and crowded.

Thanks for doing this, I used to work in computer sales less than 2 years ago, it’s almost unrecognizable now. I still remember buying my first Gameboy advance game here when I was 6 years old.

Pretty depressing considering how hard some of the employees work and I could only imagine how many have left (considering most of is were 100% commission) how many employees did you see?

If Fry’s interested in selling me their "Dreamchaser" mockup, I’m really interested!

Future building possibility : Keep existing designs ,install soundproof walls to have many movie theaters and play/concert stages . Former movies in demand or 3-D ;that are available could be voted on via Internet , then the winning movie(s) for the next week would be shown . Local enterainer(s) would be scheduled and paid according to # of prior performances . A part time Manager with computer skills . A small mall with a free theme ! During Holiday local organizations could schedule singing their Song’s. Much better than a empty structure . Share with others , could happen ,
