Thanks for posting the review. We just got the LG WM9000HVA model with the sidekick and I’m really hoping it works out well. These look just like my Kennmore Elites we just had replaced. They lasted 12 years but we did need a few parts replaced here and there. I believe LG makes Kennmore so here’s hoping you get the same great results. Best wishes! Oh, and that laundry room would be an absolute dream with the right remodel.

*Bought this to replace an aging, but still functional old dryer–>**allmy.tips/lgSteamXWasher?a5**     Needed more capacity and this one has it. Easy to install. Strongly recommend the use of a "periscope" style hot air exhaust. Allows closer fit to back wall and doesn’t have all those wrinkles & kinks to catch lint that the vinyl & aluminum 4-inch hoses have. Lots of settings, many of which we may not ever use but they’re there if needed. End-of-cycle sing-song chime is relatively loud but being able to hear it will depend on how far away from the machine you are as well as any ambient noise (TV, kids, etc) in the house that might mask it. No problems with the dryer so far but then we’ve only had it for a few weeks.*

Nice! I have the Stainless all white. Make sure to use the HQ detergent like they suggest I wore out the seal on my first one in ten years using regular detergent. I just purchased another pair . about 2200 18 mos same as cash.

Am replacing my 20 year old Maytag washer dryer set with the LG 3700 series set. Maytag has spoiled me, not one repair in 20 years. I do have a water softener system, so it’s easier in all our appliances. Also, I use vinegar instead of softener in the washer. This may help keep it clean, plus a load of towels with bleach every so often. I keep a towel wedged in the bottom after I’m finished using the washer to wick up any excess moisture around the seal, and leave it hanging out a bit which prevents the door from closing. Mildew seems to be the main issue with these front loaders.

  12. 02sabretooth on November 22, 2020 at 9:12 pm

Washer will last about 18 months to 4 years before the spider in back will fail. Known issue on all front loaders. Glad you got the extended warranty.

  13. rachelmg68 on November 22, 2020 at 9:12 pm

I want to buy a new front loader.  How long have you had this washer?  Having any problems with it.  Do you still love it.  It looks like a great one.

  15. Tarek on November 22, 2020 at 9:16 pm

How are the washer and dryer so far? Any issues.. And the cleaning is good on them?

  16. Alex Williams on November 22, 2020 at 9:16 pm

Thanks for the video! Please update this video after 6 years, as LG/Samsung/Whirlpool front-loaders are built the same way, with a aluminum drum spider which is designed to fail after 5-6 years, Planned Obsolescence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uDQaHiEfbA

    Another example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYKLPpBhPo0

The key is, buy the lowest end model you can knowing it will fail after 5-6 years.

Hi from the UK. I find it interesting how Americans have their front loaders on pedestals. We don’t have these available for our washing machines and they have never been available here. They look good for storage of laundry and detergents etc.

I feel sorry for you Tracie. Everything LG makes is shit. I had a front loader LG it literally walked around the room. I called them and they said it had to be located on a concrete floor. I told the woman "Technician" that our laundry room is on the second floor of a frame constructed house. My 55 inch LG Plasma went up due to cheap ass Chinese Capacitors and stupid engineering that did not properly cool the components. My grandsons phone bricked in a month, and he is very careful with his things. Every LG phone has this problem because of their stupid ball grid assembly attachment of the processor. SOlder is not a good conductor because it suffers from thermal shock VERY BAD ENGINEERING. I built platforms out of 2 x 10’s and 3/4 inch plywood for my washer and dryer screwed and glued together and screwed to floor joists. Very Solid. two cost about 30 bucks. Kenmore is made by Whirlpool they are good.

You should use things for a while before you issue a review Tracie.

Oh Rustoleum is trademark for a paint manufacturer. I guess you meant forming oil from manufacturing.

  25. john Lee ying zhang on November 22, 2020 at 9:26 pm

Nice review miss tracie. I just bought myself an lg pair as well.

  26. Eric jones on November 22, 2020 at 9:26 pm

Remember when you could get a washer and dryer combo for $600. I don’t like the government telling us what kind of washer to buy.

  27. Passion 4 Gadgets on November 22, 2020 at 9:26 pm

Wow with those pedestals they look way bigger than your old one. But they look fantastic.

nice video and nice explination….About lg washing machine

I wonder if she’s still loving that junk. Complaints are outrageous on facebook & consumeraffairs.com. Her husband was tired of fixing their old set but I betcha this set takes repairing to whole new level. Next time save the heartaches & headaches by buying a set of Speed Queens, people who own them love them, check the reviews.

I was hoping this was more on "how to" use the washer and dryer, How to connect the wifi etc. It says "review" on the title so it was confusing because there was no review either maybe it will come later. But anyway… just if anyone wonder the model of this washer and drier it is a LG Electronics 7.4 cu.ft. Ultra Large Capacity Gas Dryer & washer with Sensor Dry and Wi-Fi Connectivity in White ( i am not sure if the size is correct as they have different sizes)
I got the info from Home Dept website. so far, I like it. It washes fine and i like the capability of using the wifi. It tells me when the load is done etc. However I have not tried all functions so i am still working on it. The down side so far is that the touch screen is very sensitive if I get even get a little close to the screen it will pause the load. So when i start washing i just leave it alone 🙂
Also if you decide to buy the pedestals you need to do it at the same time time you are buying the washer and drier (At least if you buy from HomeDepot). They won’t install the pedestal if you buy it later. In that case you will have to get someone to install it for you. (I am not sure if it is the same if you buy from other places).

I hate ours. It gets smelly very easily. I do put it through the wash cycle and wipe it down but the smell comes back quickly. Also, you have to empty out the filter (bottom left) once a month. There’s about a 4 cups of water that comes out when you empty it. Not sure what happens yet if you forget??? The other issue is after it detects the weight of wash, the water turns on HARD and turns back off hard as it’s filling up. It’s hard on our older pipes and makes a pounding sound (water hammering) and I worry we will get a leak one day in the wall. Our other washer didn’t do this. Why can’t it just turn on and stay on til it fills up? It turns off and on about 8 -10 times as it fills up.
    I regret this purchase.

Im sure your washing machine and dryer are broken now. its been 2 years.. im sure they discontinued the parts aswell. great deal? yea, u have no idea what you were getting into

  34. Doug Riede on November 22, 2020 at 9:31 pm

This washer is defective there is a service bulletin on the bottom weight  falling off and vibrating in the spin mode where it will shake your house. the left bolt the holds the weight will hit the hinge plat and break the plastic mounting this will cause the right bolt to fail and the weight will fall off. LG is only fixing when it fails so if you are in warranty and your machine shakes then call

P.S. WASH WASH WASH your front loader. The build up will be bad and can damage it if you do not wash your washer. Sounds crazy but its a must with front loaders. They will smell as well if you don’t. Also, always keep door ajar in order for it not to build mildew in the door rubber seal. Lastly, no matter how large, 2 tablespoons should be the max detergent used despite what the bottle says. And it cant be cheap product. They are bad for the washer. Anyhoo, that’s my advice from trial and error and plenty plenty of research. Detergent ruins these machines. (ironically)

The trick to keeping the smell away with a front loader is to use POWDER HE detergent only. The liquids are petroleum based and stick on the inside of the machine and rubber seal. Once we heard this, we cleaned our front loader out with several runs with vinegar, baking soda and washer cleaner. Once we felt it was clean out really well, we started washing. The smell was gone and stayed gone!
