UPDATE // Moment, as of 2/4/2019, is changing all their naming and pricing for cases and lenses. I apologize that this video now improperly reflects those price changes. I know. I’m a little frustrated as well. Sandmarc just became even MORE cost effective.

*~*~*~*~*~*

This is the ultimate showdown between Moment and Sandmarc lenses on the iPhone XS! I’m comparing their cases, their accessories and of course their lenses, looking at the wide angle, fisheye, macro, and telephoto lenses to determine how they stack up on sharpness, vignetting, chromatic aberration, distortion, and anything else that jumps out at me.

Ultimately, both Moment hand Sandmarc have created incredible mobile lenses that both take mobile photography and videography to a new level of creative possibilities. Tag me on instagram to show me what you create! Get out and do what makes you come alive!

You may have already gone over this, but which wide angle lens would you pick for video? I am a Real Estate Broker and have been doing a lot of live virtual showings.

yeah, like threading a lens takes some time. no way I can afford 2 seconds

Nicely done. I love my Sandmarc 16mm as a real estate photographer

    You’re AWESOME bro!!! AMAZING JOB!!!

  13. Nick H on May 22, 2020 at 4:28 pm

    Please advise!
I’m new to photography, I bought a canon m100 but it’s lens only goes to 45mm so I’m not able to capture birds up close and can’t afford another lens as they seem to be more than the camera itself. My iPhone 8 Plus actually gets closer to the birds then the camera but they are blurry as compared to cropping photos from my camera. Would this work for bird photography? If my iPhone 8 Plus is already a 55mm zoom does that mean it would turn into a 113mm zoom? Hopefully what I said makes sense 😂 and if I use the tele lens will my camera still be blurry the farther I go or does that help with that? Thanks

Which lens I should go for vlogging
    Moment 18mm wide angle lens

  16. l KinkyDolphin l on May 22, 2020 at 4:29 pm

  17. Denzil on May 22, 2020 at 4:34 pm

Excellent excellent review which has made my mind up which to buy. In my case, it will be the Sandmarc.
    Cheers

I’m late to the game. I wasn’t aware of Sandmarc, but I refuse to buy Apple products, so that’s a wash. I have the 58mm telephoto and the Anamorphic lenses for my OnePlus 6t. I LOVE the results. The cinema quality video I’m shooting with that anamorphic is SOOO AWESOME. I got a 62mm filter mount and a Variable ND from GOBE, and I’m loving life. I wanted to some day get a great camera for my YouTube Channel, but I’m now leaning towards rocking the camera phones and great lenses as part of the uniqueness of my channel. Thanks for this rundown, I appreciate anyone doing camera phone lens videos, as they are more rare.

Dude, hats off. This is an awesome vid/review. Thanks for the info, really helped me out in choosing my lens. 👍 👏

  24. Joel Stephen on May 22, 2020 at 4:43 pm

Unbiased for sure! Thanks for sharing. I’m still making up my mind. However I love the fact that sandmarc includes the case and clip when you buy the lenses. Unlike moment, where I will have to spend separately for a case. I may have to choose one and stick to one brand. Hmmmm. . .#subscribed

Thank you so much, really useful video!💘

  27. Elekea on May 22, 2020 at 4:44 pm

you lost me at "only for iphone" so moment it is

  28. David Dreiss on May 22, 2020 at 4:44 pm

This is also a very biased and skewed review of these lenses. You only used an iPhone you have to take into account Google phones, Samsung etc.

  29. Brian Granados on May 22, 2020 at 4:45 pm

If I need to take product pics and do the ads for my perfume brand… which brand and lens (or set of lenses) would u recommend?

  30. Es Lewis on May 22, 2020 at 4:46 pm

Very helpful video series. I loved the bracket face off with popular lenses.

  31. KG Sriram on May 22, 2020 at 4:46 pm

ok, huge disappointment… why would Sandmarc cater only to the iphone user when you have equal (if not better) competencies from the Samsung Notes/Google Pixels/OnePlus 7 Pro?!

  32. Arnold Bryan on May 22, 2020 at 4:47 pm

I loved this video. But the 1thing I didn’t see was the 14mm wide being compared or rated. Maybe the 14 wasn’t available by moment when you reviewed these lenses. I have just recently been turned onto these. I was looking for an option rather than buying an expensive point and shoot and I really believe this is it. I’m taking the mule ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon the end of May as I would love to take my Nikon Dslr it’s not permitted. What lenses for moment do you recommend as lighting in the Canyon diminishes quite a bit. Also what about durability some of the shots I intend to take involves water. They will not be getting submerged. But just water in general.

I say moment because I have an android and each phone is different I have Samsung S10 Plus. To me this goes on a whole different thing lol

  36. Nathan Jackson on May 22, 2020 at 4:52 pm

That was lit bro. Great content. I’m a new 14 year old youtuber who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a dslr. I’m looking for phone stuff. Thanks

Nailed it great video thank you

  38. AWriterWandering on May 22, 2020 at 5:00 pm

I ended up going with Sandmarc for my iPhone 8 Plus, since I needed the wide angle more than anything. Know that I’ve got a iPhone 11, though, I’m thinking of switching to moment, since my phone already has a wide angle and now I need a telephoto.

  39. Shaddowkhan on May 22, 2020 at 5:00 pm

This was as well done video my guy.

  40. peter8488 on May 22, 2020 at 5:01 pm

Awe man, just for I-phone, wish that was in the title.

  41. Joel Stephen on May 22, 2020 at 5:01 pm

I wish there could be one, common mount where we can mount our favourite lenses from either brands.

  43. Johnny Lima on May 22, 2020 at 5:05 pm

렌즈 개발을 더 해야할것 같은데 사진작가인 제 생각엔 렌즈를 잘 만들어야 하고 코딩도 다시 만들어야 할 것 같아요

  45. Wirewatch on May 22, 2020 at 5:06 pm

After going over these reviews many times I decided to go with the Sandmarc lens system. I’d seen reviews/comments about the mounting system of Moment’s lenses and because of the materials used to make the mount, many reported malfunctions and worn out connectors. This was a big concern of mine knowing that over the years of use, installing and removing these lenses over and over would eventually be something to consider. With a little care, I could not imagine this kind of problem with the Sandmarc lenses. Also, with a free lens case with each Sandmarc lens purchased not only would I have less concern about the mounting aspect I’d also have extra lens cases to use or give away.
With the closeness in performance per lens throughout the lens line for each manufacturer, I considered them both so close to each other that it came down to my personal preference. Therefore, leaving pricing as one of the last remaining important aspects for choosing between each brand I was convinced that Scandmarc offered the best value. I even found a review code that was honored on Sandmarc’s purchase website that discounted the purchase price by about $49! I was able to purchase the Wide, Tele, Fisheye, and Macro, plus the Anamorphic lenses for less than the price of Moment’s Wide, Tele and Fisheye lenses, only – plus a free case for each! That clinched the deal and I’m very happy with my final choice. Hope this helps along with Taylor’s terrific product review! Thanks Taylor!

I got the telephoto lens a while ago from Moment. Not going to lie, this review was the one that helped me make my decision. Also, Moment’s amazing videos and marketing is superb. If the main reason to get this was just for photos, I honestly don’t think I would purchase these in lieu of just getting a camera but I think they are great for Instagram live for my open mics that are held in a low light setting.
