Why did the thermofuse failed ??
Overall, Chris here is speaking the truth. However, it needs to be said that the Whirlpool-based (Kenmore/Roper/Kirkland/2007+ Maytag/Kitchenaid etc) electric dryers are by far the easiest appliance to work on. I agree that just about anyone can do 99% of this trade, but make sure you learn some of the more complicated stuff (GE/Samsung products for example) before you quit your day job and drive off a cliff doing service calls.
So a thermal fuse is NC, normally closed or shorted if good

Haha…easy do it your self tutorial but this is just one of the rare issues why the dryer won’t start or heat. being an experienced dryer repair Tech myself this repair is common but rarely the issue…most of the times it will be broken belt , coil valves,igniter or belt switch or thermal cutoff or motor itself.
thermal fuse like in this video is the easiest repair and cheapest to fix .just test for continuity
