This Is Your Child's Brain on Videogames | WSJ

Imagine being playing that final part of the game where you fight against a final boss and can’t save. *Someone appears and unplugs de PC, console or whatever without saying anything to de player*
Wouldn’t better to let the player finish the game and then unplug?

I’m not happy when I spend 45 minutes in a Minecraft bedwars game just for someone to come over and then off the computer or the internet

Like no one is upset when you interrupt someone in the middle of doing something and basically waste all of the progress they’ve made. These old geezers are just jealous because they had to read books when it would rain instead of getting the epic Fortnite dub. Also this is made by a high budget newspaper who can pay any scientist to make false info to support their point.

I feel bad for the kid at the end. He didn’t save his progress and his parents were like “oH YeAh BE a GoOD iDeA To UnPlUG A gAmE tHaT mY cHilD HAS BEEN SPENDING FOR 4 HOURS”.

  13. Racha G on August 31, 2020 at 10:07 pm

Try not to take things or turn off devices abruptly! Give them warning and warnings and warnings then stand in between them and the tv or iPad and demand to hand over the remotes. My son 9/10 does it.

why do children react so badly? because its not reading a book, you cant go straight back to where you left off in a game of ortnite

If you broke my Lego arctic set I’d be just as angry if my pc was taken away from me, I do rage a lot but I don’t take it out on my parents, WSJ has made so many errors in this video
Also why didn’t you censor their faces? Bit of a breach of privacy if you ask me

  22. shazall711 on August 31, 2020 at 10:17 pm

I think they are right because kids always like to play games on pc or console

  23. The Names Nate on August 31, 2020 at 10:17 pm

Because playing video games is worse then the emotional trauma of having a viral embarrassing video of your self posted and going viral I can almost guarantee that these kids classmates bully them for these videos and if the child kills them self from the bullying let’s blame video games not the parents

I’m pretty sure every kid would be mad if a camera was shoved into their face after getting angry for their parents unplugging the console

  28. ashton aaron diaz on August 31, 2020 at 10:24 pm

If my parents did this and they dont which is nice i would start the game over again and look them in the eyes to make them know i hate them for doing that

  29. Cubix Man on August 31, 2020 at 10:25 pm

Nice work parents shaming your kids on the internet…

  30. guy3480 on August 31, 2020 at 10:25 pm

"take their book away" "take their lego away" no i think it would be more accurate to say that you destroy their lego creation and force them to read a book they were in the middle of from the beginning. Boomers dont understand video games also stop being cruel to your kids whats wrong with you?

0:54 "That was my game to get into the overwatch league" That’s definitely not true but that’s still soul crushing if he thinks that his parent ruined his chance to make it big

  37. Galaxyeon on August 31, 2020 at 10:33 pm

    What does this have to do with video games ;-;

  38. Heavenly Settings on August 31, 2020 at 10:33 pm

maybe you should say to the parents let us slowly get used to not playing that much not just smash the thing that’s too much for 1 single day then you complain why aren’t we not used to it you treat us like animals "Maybe i should do this and it will stop." it can be hard to control your kid but smashing the console is no way, just ask him or unplug it and say to him you can’t play to 9:00 you can only play to 8:30pm" then keep doing that every week until he gets used to 8:00 or 7:00pm and he will get used to it. AND EVEN IF YOU THINK ABOUT SMASHING THE CONSOLE BECAUSE "IT’S TO COMPLICATED AND DEATH TO CONSOLES" YOU’RE NOT GETTING YOUR CHILD BACK. DON’T SMASH HIS CONSOLE THIS IS THE 20TH TIME.
