The fancier it is, the more likely something will break. I work for an appliance repair company. NEVER buy an LG or Samsung fridge – Compressors go out. A Kenmore may be built by Whirlpool, LG or Electrolux (Frigidaire). Whirlpool, Amana, Kitchenaid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and sometimes Kenmore are built by the same company (Whirlpool). Electrolux and Frigidaire are the same company. And this video has zero useful information.

THE SERVICE MEMBER WORKS A SECOND JOB TO PROVIDE AS A FOOD DELIVERY DRIVER, BUT CANNOT EVEN KEEP THE BABY’S MILK COLD! ON AUGUST 5, THERE WAS A CALL PLACED TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER ABOUT THE FRIDGE TO TRY TO GET SOMEONE OUT TO FIX IT SINCE ITS STILL UNDER WARRANTY & WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE OUT IN 24-48HOURS! NO ONE CAME OUT! NO ONE WILL COME OUT TOMORROW EITHER! CUSTOMER SERVICE SHENISE SAID THAT A SUPERVISOR WOULD CALL BACK TODAY BY 8PMET, SHE LIED BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE CLOSED AT 6PMET!!

Do NOT buy a LG refrigerator. Do some real research and you’ll see that most folks regard an LG refrigerator as a PURE LIABILITY. They are common at Home Depot and Lowes and I now learned that several neighbors are having the same serious problems I did. Paid a lot of $ for the LG and from day-one it never got colder than 44F and totally failed in a couple years. LG lost a class-action lawsuit over their refrigerators so they extended the warranty but, in my case, they stonewalled a refund and made me attempt to repair it over a period of more than 30 days. After >40 days without a refrigerator, we gave-up and purchased a GE Profile. There are almost no service centers that can repair them. Mine lasted 2 years, 8 months. Compressor burned-up. Five different repair centers could not repair it. They all agree the compressor is shot but, it requires a very uncommon refrigerant gas (R600A ISO-Butane) and 5 technicians in the area will not refill that gas. Also the compressor would take 3 weeks to order. Ask any local independent appliance centers if they carry LG. Most have stopped carrying their refrigerators because of the poor lifetime and maintenance nightmares. Most repair services will not even come visit if the problem pertains to the cooling system. You have been warned!

Top 5 refrigerators were made more than 10 years ago. These days they are all JUNK.
GE Sucks. I bought the whole package 10 years ago. Fridge went out 6 times. Microwave went down after 7 years and wasn’t even heating right. The oven had to be fixed 3 times and as we speak is down again as is my fridge.
And the dishwasher was so bad that they had to do a buyout and give me a new one.
These companies are really out here trying to sell fridges with Sailor Moon transformations. Anyway, I don’t trust any of these companies, and I don’t trust any fridge with an ice dispenser. All these fridges seem lovely, but they are all designed to bears down at least partially within 3 to five years of purchase. I think I’d trust Miele, Big Chill and maybe Elmira (not done enough research on that company yet). But beware of even companies like Sub Zero, where you pay like ten grand for a fridge, but they sometimes outsource their manufacturing to the same companies that make LGs, Samsungs, Kitchen Aids, etc., so you may ebed up over paying by 9 to 7 thousand dollars. Pretty shady.

I have a Dacor built in column fridge and separate freezer. The fridge has failed three times in three years! Had to throw out all my food three times! Dacor refuses to replace and is a complete nightmare to deal with! I would never buy this unit again. What are you to do when it lasts only 6 months after last repair before quitting. I would have ripped it out already if I did have to buy both units and rebuild the space for other units! DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE AND FREEZER UNITS. Owned by Samsung. Look at Dacor BBB rating D-.
Suspect if there are no German manufacturers in the mix.
LG makes refrigerators for Kenmore. Samsung makes G.E. refrigerators. Good luck. Know your warranty.
