My parents technically give me almost unlimited screen time, I’m eleven almost twelve and I’ve learned I’ve felt better when I’m not on my screen all the time. Even though devices can be bad, taking it away completely isn’t great either.

i don’t care if there’s a time limit on my screen time. if i have access to swimming pool, i could bet all my money that i’d be out there swimming my ass off.
The limit honestly made me addicted. Made me see it as a treasure. When I got a job the limit was dropped. I got bored after 4 days with 9 hours each day. Started focusing on art, studying, and fitness. Occasionally I’d game for 4 hours in a day, but I’d get bored and drop it. This tech imo shouldn’t be introduced to 8-9 year olds until they find another hobby first.
I refuse to believe kids with limited screen time have the best grades because my screen time is from 8-10 hours usually everyday and I have the best grades in my school not kidding

I am addicted to my pc, iPad and everything like that because my mom was in hospital for most of my life with cancer and my dad was working long long hours and we was forced to stay at home with a random neighbour who just relaxed on the patio outside while we could only entertain ourselves with technology and I am glad I did, it made me who I am today.
I understand that it is bad to stay on for hours at a time and I don’t do that anymore only when I study, painfully….
Eh it depends on the child. I got unlimited screen time and im not addicted to it, despite gaming a LOT. OMORI, terraria, minecraft, bloons, valorant, GD, BOTW, smash ultimate (luigi main 👍), brawlhalla (ember main 👍), etc.
Never really went outside on summer since I have no kids that have stuff in common on me and even having unlimited Internet I never fought with anyone because I had no one to fight om

I enjoyed summer with my friends we climbed this tree, and taped a skateboard to a sled. only two people sit. Whoever sat in the front had to control when going down a hill. If you were in the back not controlling don’t turn to the side or you will crash. If you are turning to the side the person in the front will know and tell you so we don’t crash. We made these rules in our favorite tree and we had different spots so we sit and chat. I wish we still had that sled and it was not 8 degrees outside.

I literally learned more than screens than in school. I knew about black holes and the big bang at age 8 while everyone else was struggling at learning about what a dinosaur is.
on the last day of summer a few years ago i relised i wasted it on the internet, the next summer i made sure that i went out side and rode my bike everyday and got out there, BEST DECISION OF MY CHILDHOOD it tell you please go outside and do something

My children don’t even know how to use a phone or a tablet. Grant it they are two and four and we do watch some TV (could be regulated more). Also don’t have any video game consoles but due to this my girls sleep well at night and love to play using their imagination with the toys they have, love to experiment with art, and love books, music, and dancing. Oh and can’t forget the love for animals! They also love to go to the parks, playgrounds and can actually hold conversations. We’re not perfect parents but this concept of giving devices to your children all the time is just alien to me because we just don’t do it. However adults would have to put THEIR devices down if they want their children to follow suit.
