I get what your trying to say but a lot of people I’ve seen have benefited from playing certain games. Ngl this is kinda dumb. Most gamers actually do it as a hobby to have something to enjoyable. I got social anxiety badly and I find gaming helps me with that and I can cannot. I also stream and I have made 55$ by just one viewer. Most things can be bad if you do it too much due to stress.

the average gamer does not play 82 hours of video games in a week. if we have nothing to do, we will enjoy our creative medium, just like how people who watch tv and movies do the same. games can still deliver messages and teach you things just as much as any other medium, and most games will. i have games with 1000 hours in them, and guess where those came from? time where i didn’t need to to anyting. video games are also a bit more economical than tv, because you don’t need surround sound, 4K screens and a bunch of extra stuff to get a full experience from a 7 dollar Netflix subscription. With games, you need a monitor or screen, and a console. you spend 60 on a triple A game or around 20 on an indie game. then you can 1000s of hours of fun from spending under a thousand dollars. they are just like tv. also multiplayer games exist. we interact with others in them. dumbass.

Now I’m gonna get personal here, binge drinking is nothing like gaming , far from it. I abused alcohol because I miserable with my surroundings, I went to work every day still, hardly ever played video games because my mind was on other things that I wasn’t happy about. I’m now going 4 months sober, during this pandemic, I’ve talked to people through online gaming and found inner peace with myself. Gaming has to do part of that. You clearly never gone far with alcohol and you shouldn’t bring up a subject that you clearly have no knowledge on. Enjoy your life. Still go out and meet people, if that’s not your thing? Do what makes you happy. Oh one more thing, don’t read stuff on the internet that consumes you. You can’t believe everything told to you.
